Lee DeWyze will be performing LIVE at Westfield Culver City on Saturday, April 2nd at 3pm. Lee will be launching his own shake at Millions of Milkshakes. Taylor Hicks to perform in Glens Falls
Taylor Hicks, 2006 winner of TV’s “American Idol, ” will appear in concert at 7:30 p.m. May 16 at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls, the theater announced Thursday.
Hicks will appear with a small ensemble that is still being put together, said Eric Malette, who is promoting the concert for Adirondack Broadcasting Co. of Queensbury.
Tickets, priced at $48.50, go on sale March 23 at the Wood Theater Box Office, at www.woodtheater.org or by calling 518-874-0800.

New Orleans’ Howlin’ Wolf will host Down on the Bayou III on Thursday, May 5 during JazzFest. The show will benefit the New Orleans Musician’s Clinic. The show’s initial lineup includes JoJo Hermann (Widespread Panic) and His Mardi Gras Band with George Porter Jr., Marcia Ball, Irma Thomas, Ivan Neville, Taylor Hicks and Col. Bruce Hampton.

Gokey to appear at fair
BEAVER DAM – The final act for the 2011 Dodge County Fair has been announced on its Web site.
Danny Gokey, who was the third place finalist on the eighth season of American Idol, will perform at the fair at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. After his placing on the popular Fox network program, Gokey signed 19 recordings with RCA Records Nashville.

Last week, viewers of “American Idol” sent home Ashthon Jones, the first voter-fueled casualty of the show’s 10th season. Since the home audience didn’t want Jones in their pool of finalists to begin with, it was logical that they wouldn’t vote for her again (especially following her disastrous performance of Diana Ross’ “When You Tell Me That You Love Me”). In fact, it seems painfully obvious that the first three singers to go will probably be the three the three singers chosen as the judges’ wild cards.

But this Mandela story, and this film, have problems. Winnie Mandela’s past is troubling. She wasn’t faithful to her husband when he was in jail, and their marriage ended in divorce when he got out. She’s been accused of human rights abuses, including kidnapping a young activist who was later murdered. Movie-goers may not root for her as a sympathetic figure if she’s portrayed realistically on celluloid. But they may not even get a chance to see it. So far, “Winnie” doesn’t have a U.S. release date or even a distributor, and Winnie Mandela is threatening legal action because she wasn’t consulted during production.

Matthew Morrison Planning to Direct ‘Glee’ Episode in Season 3
Glee actor Matthew Morrison is a Broadway star, a TV actor and a songwriter, but soon he will add another role to his resume: director.
On the PaleyFest carpet Wednesday night, Morrison told THR that he hopes to take on the director’s role on Glee and said he will “definitely [do it] in the third season.”
Morrison previously told THR that acting on Glee while recording and preparing to promote his album “is the hardest I’m ever going to work in terms of trying to be noticed and seen, so I want to push it until I’m 40. Then, I’d love to get behind the camera, produce films and be more involved in the storytelling process.”

‘Glee’ Stars Chris Colfer, Darren Criss Have High Hopes For Klaine
“I had a Wisp (a single-use mini toothbrush) and some Chapstick and that’s about it, ” Colfer revealed about his prep work. “I did not eat the onions and the Chinese food that they brought to set that day as a courtesy, but that’s about it.”
Criss, who joined the cast as a series regular this season, described the kiss as a beautiful moment.
“I really enjoyed it, because we’ve all been waiting for it, ” he said. “I’ve been waiting for it, and like I’ve said, the groundwork was laid down so perfectly that on the day, it felt very natural, ” he explained. “I was just so happy, it was like a release. Finally, we got [it]. It was building for so long, so I think the excitement that the fans felt was definitely felt in that room. It was very special.”
