A few highlights:

  • Jennifer Hudson’s debut Jennifer Hudson only drops two spots this week, to #4, and holds steady at #2 (right behind the might T.I) on the Top R&B/Hip Hop albums chart. And no, that 3 is not a typo.   Jennifer had enough street violations (535) to chart on the R&B album chart a week before her album dropped.   Her single, “Spotlight” climbs to the #1 spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Airplay charts, and retains the #1 spot on the Hot Adult Airplay chart.   Jennifer’s Billboard #1’s now total 5.
  • Kellie Pickler, Kellie Pickler drops from 9-34 on The Hot 100, and 1-4 on the Top Country Albums chart, but her single “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful” climbs from 25-21 on the Hot Country Songs chart. It sits on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart at #6.
  • Bucky Covington’s “I’ll Walk” climbs from 93-84 on the Billboard Hot 100, dips   bit, 72-74 on the Hot 100 Airplay, and climbs 17-16 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
  • Kristy Lee Cook’s radio tour   for “15 Minutes of Shame” is paying off–it climbs 40-34 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
  • David Archuleta’s “Crush” climbs on the charts this week: 25-22 Hot 100, 45-39 Hot 100 Airplay, 17-17, Pop 100, 18–17 Pop 100 Airplay,   17-16 Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, 15-15 Mainstream Top 40, 26-25 Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks, 16-15 Hot Digital Tracks, 16-15 Hot Digital Songs.
  • David Cook’s The Magic Rainbow that Could “Time of My Life” moves from the Hot 100 charts to the recurrent charts after 20 weeks. It retains the #1 spot on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and remains at #13 on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.   The new single, “Light On” takes a steep 2nd week drop on most charts:   17-66   Hot 100, 24-56 Pop 100, 67-65 Pop 100 Airplay (it climbed a little there), 8-37 Hot Digital Tracks, 8-43 Hot Digital Songs 8-43. More radio play and the newly-filmed video should give these numbers a boost in the coming weeks.
  • Finally, Elliott Yamin has been touring Japan, promoting the Japanese import, Wait for You Premium Edition. Japanese recording artist, Yusaku Kiyama covered Elliott’s “Wait For You” and it debuts at #68 on the Japan Hot 100 Singles, While Elliott’s cover of Kiyama’s “Home” debuts at #91.You can watch both versions here.
