Daughtry Predicted To Take the Top Spot on Sales Chart Next Week

Looks like Michael Jackson is going to be knocked off the top of the charts next week, after dominating for three straight weeks.

Who is set to dethrone the King of Pop?

According to Hits Daily Double:

After three straight weeks of Jackomania, yet another American Idol, this one named Daughtry, should be #1 on next week’s HITS Top 50 with Leave This Town, his sophomore 19/RCA/RMG album, which will bow in the 240-260k range.

That’s based on one-day sales reports from those retailers who still have Michael Jackson catalog on their shelves.

HDD warns that the preliminary numbers are based on only 1 day’s worth of sales, and are subject to change. But still, a decent bow for Daughtry’s sophomore effort. Congrats Chris and the band.

ETA: As a side note, Brooke White is predicted to be in the 8-10k range. Her High Hopes and Heartache debuted digitally on iTunes this week. Was it the $7.99 price? Those are very good numbers for an indie album that hasn’t even officially dropped yet. The CD will be available on June 21.
