Last night’s American Idol was down 9% vs last week. Good news for Glee, it rose this week!

American Idol and FOX wins the night, but the ratings are down 16% from last week’s 5.5. Viewers are also down, 14.18M vs last week’s 15.78M viewers. Over on ABC, Nashville’s ratings were down 11% from its last airing two weeks ago.

Tuesday Ratings: Smash Falls Dramatically

Uh oh. The series premiere of Smash TANKED in the ratings last night. Honestly, while it looks like season 2 will be an improvement over season 1, once a show has entered the hate-watching stage, it’s hard to redeem.

Thursday Ratings: CBS Wins the Night

Welp. With the mega-hit show, The Big Bang theory back from hiatus, American Idol took a big hit in the ratings, as predicted. Big Bang knocked Idol back under a 5.0 rating in the key 18-49 demo. And with Person of Interest returning to the schedule, Glee took a hit too. It was an all around win for CBS last night.

Last night’s American Idol was down a tenth compared to the previous week. I suppose it could be worse. Nashville was a repeat.

American Idol is down. The ratings are still over 5, but for how long? And Glee is up–but against a re-run of “Person of Interest.” Although, Idol has to be a better lead in than the tepid X Factor.

Not surprisingly, American Idol ratings are down 10% compared to last week’s premiere. However, the numbers are just about even with Thursday – 5.6 in the demo and 16.19 overall viewers. So, not too shabby, actually.

American Idol 12 Premiere Ratings Continue to Drop (UPDATED)

American Idol ratings are down from last night, but that is to be expected. Numbers are also down 11% from last year’s comparable 1 hour episode.

UPDATE: With the demo numbers in, Zap2it reports that Idol 12 second night ratings match last year’s 2nd night numbers.
