Tuesday Ratings: Smash Stays at Series Low
Smash continues to garner low ratings. The numbers this week were flat with last week’s series low. I don’t think NBC will yank the show off the schedule though. The season’s filming is nearly complete, I have a feeling it will stay on the schedule through the end of the season. But a season 3? Doubtful.
Sunday Ratings: Oscar Telecast Sees Big Gains
The Oscars saw big gains this year. The show grew its overall audience for the 2nd straight year (+3%) and surged 11% in Adults 18-49 (13.0 rating vs. 11.7 rating) to its best numbers since 2010. Also, it’s 18-34 rating saw a 20% gain, probably thanks to the presence of host, Seth MacFarlane. Over 40 million tuned in to watch the Oscars last night. The Red Carpet pre-show numbers were not too shabby either.
Wednesday Ratings: Idol Ratings Lowest Since 2002
American Idol ratings were down 3 tenths points from last week’s numbers and hit its lowest key demo numbers since July 10, 2002. I expect the Survivor Caramoan premiere had something to do with that. However the numbers for Survivor were down substantially from last spring’s premiere. The good news? Nashville was up a tenth from last week.
Sunday Ratings: Grammy Ratings Fall from 2012 Record
Grammy ratings were down compared to last year’s Whitney Houston tribute-fest. Actually, Grammy 2013 was one of my favorite ever. Lots of really entertaining performances from Grammy winners Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and MORE.
