Calling American Idol “my first big break that almost didn’t happen,” Ryan revealed how he nearly passed up the opportunity to host the show. Initially, Ryan was offered the job of hosting Family Feud. But the production company also suggested the possibility to helm a “mystery show.”
Ryan’s gut told him to hold out for the mystery show, which turned out to be American Idol. The rest is well-known history.
