Congrats Carrie Underwood
More awards for Idol alums! Carrie Underwood snagged two of her four nominated awards last night at the CMA’s. She won the Horizon award, which is a “best newcomer” award. And in an upset, she beat heavy hitters Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Martina McBride and Gretchen Wilson for Best Female Vocalist.
However, Carrie deserves the accolades–she took the country music world by storm this year, selling more than 3 million copies of her debut CD “Some Hearts” and staying at the #1 chart position with her single “Jesus Takes the Wheel”.
Carrie accepted the award shocked and in tears. More shocked, however, was Faith Hill who mouthed WHAT!!???!! and looked none too pleased. Check out Perez Hilton.com to watch the film clip. Too funny.
