You Tube Goodness: Jackie Tohn!

Y’all saw Jackie Tohn in the New York City audition episode (watch her audition).   She has quite the long history of show business experience behind her.

Check out her Wikipedia page.   She’s got a list of credits for small TV and film roles, including The Nanny, The Sopranos, Strangers with Candy, Angel, Veronica Mars and Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s done musical theater, released an EP in 2005, and performed acoustic shows in and around LA and NYC. Her MySpace   and Website.

And of course, a pile of You Tube videos, right HERE

In 2007, she co-starred in a B-movie called “Postal”. Watch the trailer and interview below. (Uhm. OK!) Here’s Jackie performing at Wizard Finger ’06 HERE. Another interview about “Postal” HERE. Video for her original song “A Little More Far” HERE.

“A Christmas Story” on the other hand, now that’s one of the best movies EVER!

mj, thanks for killing my Jackie Tohn love right away! LOL! No seriously, I like her sound and style. I’m interested in seeing if she has any versatility. In singing that is not acting…

Love Christmas Story! What a classic!

Hey, I executive produce the show “Trailer Trash” posted above. Thanks for the love! We’re an independent show, so any linkage is appreciated.

If you like American Idol singers, and it looks like you do, please also check out this video I produced co-starring Camile Velasco from AI season 3:

This short film, The Big V, was produced for the San Diego Asian Film Festival. Feel free to post this as a blog for Camile, too!

    Thanks again!

    Yet another plant.

  • sthomas

Plants are good. They give oxygen.

Plant or not, her audition really wasn’t that great. She should have gotten a resounding no after “I’m Yours.” I think the set demolition may have saved her.

  • purplesmile

Aww. I like this plant’s voice (not on I’m Yours, though, where her dancing was also a little cringe-worthy). Reminds me of Beth Hart’s a bit.

  • leome

I don’t know if she’s a plant or not, but to me she seems to be the type of contestant that makes the show more entertaining. Good voice, one that you could pick in the crowd, she’s fun, doesn’t seem generic at all, nice personality for the show…
I can see her as someone who will probably talk back to the judges though.

The problem with I’m Yours is that it didn’t seem she was taking it serious, but I liked the vocals. The other song was better.
Yup, my favorite at the moment.
