Am I the only who wasnÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t wowed by Frankie JordanÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s audition? SheÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s cute, and SimonÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s type, but she sounded like she was mimicing Amy Winehouse.

I’d like to hear her sing something else…something more obscure. Amy Winehouse is too current, so of course she’ll suffer some comparisons. Plus, she looks a little like her.

There’s more of a rasp to Amy’s voice that restricts her from being mimicked, but I’d like to think Frankie would fair well in a more jazzy genre versus songs similar to “Once Again.”

Also, I wonder if some weren’t more put off by her slightly cocky/over-confident pre-audition video.

i totally know that frankie jordan song! i had no idea that was her singing that though. I thought it was someone else. Hmm..

I think David Osmond is as adorable as his uncle Donny was back in the day. He’s got a nice smooth, well-trained voice. That said, what is his musical niche, I wonder?

ETA: Am I the only who wasn’t wowed by Frankie Jordan’s audition? She’s cute, and Simon’s type, but she sounded like she was mimicing Amy Winehouse.

Same thing with Taylor. Cute, tall girl – very Jordan-esque, and she was mimicing the Lauryn Hill from Sister Act 2.

I’ve decided that I really don’t give a d— about the history of the contestants, their back stories, their performance history, have they made records, etc.

Since AI, obviously, is not and has never been a search for undiscovered talent, the fact the amount of contestants with professional history has escalated is not a surprise.

I’m going to approach this season like I did early on, before I got caught up in researching every fringing little thing on the web.

The Singer with the best voice, good stage presence, a winning personality and someone whose record I would buy is going to get my vote.

What?! Frankie Jordan was billed last night as a Waitress/Mom, what a crock!
I liked her but I won’t be voting for her now if she already has a recording history. I had a feeling she was a little more professional than they were letting on LOL oh well.

Seems a bit unfair doesn’t it. All these second chancers and the “little” guy/girl who wouldn’t know what the inside of a music studio looked like, who doesn’t have a job, is a single mom, etc. going up against the “pros”.

I can’t understand why these judges who are pros, don’t recognize some of these professional singers. They seem “surprised” to find such good talent.
