Tate Steven’s“Holler If You’re With Me” was just background for his Pepsi commercial. The X Factor winner’s “real” single is called “Power of a Love Song” and goes for adds March for 11. The song was written by Bradley Gaskin, Mark Johnson and Jeremy Bussey.

This is the kind of song that helps set Tate Stevens apart from the pack of newcomers. His voice is a voice which rivals quite a few top stars with more depth and emotional punch than one might expect to hear from a former road construction worker. Again, this is the kind of song that he excelled at singing on “The X Factor” and it proves he DOES have the X-Factor that so many artists struggle to find.

Quite simply “Power Of A Love Song” sets Tate Stevens apart. Instead of delivering a Peach Picker-like ditty that is similar to everything else on radio, “Power Of A Love Song” stands out and showcases Tate Stevens as a strong-voiced singer ready to become the first true star to come out of The X Factor.

Alrighty then. I guess we’ll see if his first single is an improvement over the cliche-ridden “Holler If You’re With Me.”.. Click to check out the lyrics.

Eh. It’s cliched too. But in a different way–it’s a power country ballad.

Meanwhile, X Factor judge, Demi Lovato is getting ready to release her next single “Heart Attack”. The singer will preview the song–the first release from her next album–March 4 on The Ryan Seacrest radio show.

“For a while, I could tell that, when people would talk to me, they knew my story,” Demi says in the clip, “I think I’ve opened up more on this album. My life began to evolve, and I started to grow.” Via Billboard

Starting off Stevens’ official single with a glowing review in a credible industry source is a huge improvement over Amaro’s barrage of negative reviews for hers. Yeah, a positive review doesn’t guarantee success… but it sure lowers the hurdles to getting played.

I see Stevens’ team has also taken the concept of “branding” extremely seriously and literally given him a cattle brand design.

I agree this sounds promising for Tate.  And Laughing at the “branding.”

My only thought, since I haven’t heard the song, is tangential.  One of the songwriters, Bradley Gaskin, has an amazing voice.  He debuted at the Opry the same night Scotty and Lauren did (I was there) and Bradley’s power was stunning.  He also had the backing of John Rich–who came out to introduce him…what happened?

That’s a pretty great review, it makes me curious to hear the song to see whether I agree with it or if Syco twisted someone’s arm hard for that review.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard Tate’s voice since I didn’t watch XFactor much at all this season but I’ll give it a listen.

Pulse says it’s available today, but so far I’ve not seen it anywhere.

The branding comment is interesting, I didn’t notice that at first.  What struck me *immediately* is how they borrowed the exact color palette & theme of Jason Aldean’s highly successful My Kinda Party album, from the white hat to the exact colors of the plaid shirt, jeans & boots.  Even the old boards are the same color. Interesting, they must have planned to hit people with that same impression.

Yeah, I noticed that too. And since I don’t much like Aldean, I didn’t have a good impression about Tate.

We’ll see. I’ll take a listen to the single. But so far – Tate seems pretty cliche to me.

As a casual observer, this sounds very good.  What a pretty song and Tate’s voice does sound rich and full and authentic in this genre of music.  It records beautifully and imo, he sings better than many established men in Country Music.  Still the question remains.  Will Nashville embrace Tate Stevens?  Heck, he even has the perfect name for this!  I noticed that right away when he was on XF.

I’m not his target audience, however, I do wish him well and I feel he has a good shot.

    Tate has outlapped Melanie Amaro.
