This is my first xfactor…can someone explain to me how the upcoming Final Week works? Someone said they sing 5 songs??? and then someone else said there is a duet with an established artist??….someone else said that 2 of them have a sing-off with a chosen Final Song (this year rumored to be The Climb???)….I’m confused as to how all this works, and how it will all fit into one weekend? Help??!

I agree that Simon blew this guy(Danyl) up to imposible standards from his first audition. I probably feel more sympathy for the guy than most of the
peeps here……, but I did appreciate that he was very gracious in handling
his loss. He, in no way had a consistantly good voice.
Joe has the voice, and should be the winner based on singing. His performance has improved over the last couple of shows. Ollie has the
performance ease, but certainly not the voice consistantcy. Joe will be
a much better recording pop singer. Still I enjoy Ollie ( cheese’n all)!
All I have to say about Stacie is “potential” and NO, NO, NO, not ready!!!!

LOL. Yeah I chose Kris from top 36 (MITM), Jeanine from the first dances airing, and Joe from the audition. I liked that Cheryl Cole thought he was cute from that audition and love the song ‘Dance With My Father’ 

Kris I chose top 11, Jeanine I chose after Phillip left since he was my favorite and they were partners. Joe I chose just today because I hardly watch the show. Only thing about Joe is that for the most part he struggles with more upbeat stuff. I kinda liked Sway, but Don’t Stop Believin’ and his part in Don’t Stop The Music were less than stellar. But other than that, I like him the most. I like the guys with the laid-back, really nice personalities like Archie and Kris, I find that when they sing they’re easier for me to connect with on some level. Joe also had the most interesting vocals of anyone in the top 4. I adore Joe.

I don’t follow this show at all, but I just wanted to see what this guy Daryl Johnson has. What I found reminded me why I like Kris so much ‘” his ‘Man in the Mirror’  was way, way better than Daryl’s ‘” impassioned and heartfelt, with soaring sustained notes, and not a trace of Johnson’s nasality.

Same story and opinion here. this guy is one of the top 4 in the UK? I guess it’s a smaller Kingdom than I thought.

Way under, especially in the first verse. Like he couldn’t hear–so flat.

So weird seeing that shot of Simon all pissed off that Danyl is out. This guy Danyl doesn’t seem to be very talented. there are oodles of far more talented people who Simon has been consistently unsupportive of on AI. (I’m thinking of Syesha Mercado and Allison Iraheta specifically, but there are plenty.) Such a weird double standard that Simon practices–is he really that much of a UK national that it effects his judgement that much?

It’s too bad all the Rhodes Scholars seem to pick the losers.

Simon does remember the songs. He tried to recreate a David Cook moment with Billie Jean last year or so. Kris has been playing MITM to rave reviews for some time now. Kris picked a great MJ song and all the more poignant since Michael’s untimely death. Simon may act cavalier, but he remembers more than he lets on.

Simon probably couldn’t even tell you half the songs that contestants have sung. It’s the ‘wierdo’  fans like us who remember this stuff.

Leaving aside “Man in the Middle,” no one on this planet can ever tell me that Simon — all on his own — came up with the Chris Cornell rendition of “Billie Jean” that Cook did. He copied Cook and foisted that on one of his boys. No doubt about it. Mr. Unchained Melody/First Time Ever I Saw Your face had no idea that rendition existed before Cook performed it. No IDEA at all.

Still, I think he is so narrow in his focus that he truly uses AI and their contestants to try and inject some life into this British show. It’s becoming an also run in my opinion. No matter if one preceded the other.

did anyone notice in Gaga’s performance at the 4:15 mark, she grabs her male dancer’s head and pulls it in towards her and then’ ¦.the camera cuts away! a second later, you see the dancer’s head moving away from her crotch! hmmmm’ ¦.lol.

What?! Is this now a dance move, like the macarena? Should I be shoving people’s faces into my crotch at weddings?

The problem is that Simon has a habit of trying to re-create something.
I think that’s why AI is better because at least the singers pick their own song. It should be interesting for X-factor US version.

Please Simon, don’t let Ollie sing Heartless.

Yes! He keeps trying to recreate lightening in a bottle by making his favored X-Factor contestants sing songs chosen by successful AI contestants, who — by the way — chose the songs for themselves based on their own abilities and preferences. He made that Austin Drage fellow sing Cook’s “Billie Jean” and he’s made Danyl sing Kris’ “Man in the Mirror.”

That’s why I’m puzzled about what he’s going to do with an American X-Factor. He won’t be able to do the same thing without the American audience noticing and mocking him (and them) mercilessly.
