Zap2it is reporting that Justin Bieber and Stevie Wonder have taped performances for next week’s X Factor finale.
I’ve also heard that Justin taped something with Top 6 contestant, Drew–who is a big fan of the Biebs. Justin reportedly brought out Drew to sing the final line of ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ and then shared some “inspirational words”, but I don’t have confirmation for that bit of info.
Also, I’m hearing that Florence + the Machine taped a performance this week.
A couple of odds and ends:
Here are the Top 4 commenting on their performances via THR
Josh Krajcik on singing Hallelujah:
Indeed, after the show, Josh made sure to mention Jeff Buckley’s recording of the song, which is nearly as monumental as the original, and the fact that “Hallelujah” has been sung by several American Idol alums was not lost on him, either. “It’s risky,” he said. “But here’s the thing: it’s a desperate and beautiful love song, I love it and I connect to it, and because it’s been done so well by so many different people — like Buckley’s version is hard to top — the only strategy I had was to try and make it mine, to do a little bit with the melody to make it more Kraj, so hopefully I did that.”
And some behind the scenes stuff from Entertainment Weekly
The pre-tape! So, after the show, the audience was kept in the studio for a pre-tape, which is somewhat common on talent shows like this. (It regularly happens on American Idol, where, for instance, Katy Perry would pre-tape her performance a week ahead of the results show where it aired.) Unfortunately, Fox won’t allow me to tell you who was there, but I’ll just say that there were actually four different acts — and that includes soloists and groups. The performance will be spliced into next week’s grand finale. It’s Christmas-themed and, actually, quite fun — and surprising. Prepare yourself! (And, if you really care to find out who it is and want to dig around on the web a bit, I’m sure you can find an outlet or two — or a blogger — who didn’t heed Fox’s embargo.)
