Who is going home?
Last night was a pretty good night for the remaining 7 acts.
Who is going home? Rylan’s time on the show is coming to an end, but after last week’s bottom 2 appearance and last night’s fun performance, maybe he can avoid another bottom 2 appearance?
Chris Maloney was awfully karaoke, but Liverpool is voting for him. However, if he lands in the bottom 2, he is gone. Some tabloids (reliable in the past) claim that he is topping the votes every week. If Chris wins, I expect him to release an album of covers right before Mother’s Day. Then they will quietly drop him before the start of the next season and airbrush him out of the X Factor history.
Both boybands District3 and Union J could end up in the bottom. If that happens, I expect Union J to survive the vote.
Could one of the BIG 3 (Jahmene, James, Ella) land in the bottom?
Ed Sheeran and Little Mix perform tonight. Ed Sheeran pre-recorded his performance, but Little Mix are performing live tonight.
According to TV Guide, tonight’s show airs at 8:00pm BST (3:00pm EDT, 12:00pm PDT) on ITV1 (60min). The Xtra Factor airs at 09:00pm BST (60min) on ITV2.
Please post working live feed links in the comments section below as you find them!
The show started. More Ed Sheeran/Little Mix teasers. The judges all look beautiful tonight.
The lines are still open and Dermot is now reciting the numbers.
TOP 7 sing U2’s “Beautiful Day”. Hmm, this doesn’t fit the theme, U2 are Irish? I must say, the finalists don’t sound that bad on this song. Is this live?
Time for the recap – the story of last night.
Time for Little Mix! Their new single “DNA” is out now. They are performing live. Their debut album “DNA” comes out next week.
The lines are now closed. Gary thinks Jahmene stole the show last night. Nicole is happy with her boys. Tulisa is worried people will assume Ella is safe. Louis doesn’t want to see his boybands in the bottom 2.
Ed Sheeran is next. He is pre-recorded. He is mega successful in the UK. He co-wrote some songs for One Direction. “Little Things”? Yep, that’s his. He is dueting with Taylor Swift on her new album. “Give Me Love” is his latest single. Wow, they forced the 4 judges to show up for the taping in tonight’s clothes again. Same with One Direction last night.
(Clean sweep for Nicole Scherzinger!)
Bye Bye District3?
District3 sing Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”.
Union J sing Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain”.
Louis refuses to vote.
Gary sends home: District3
Nicole sends home: District3
Going home: District3
Tulisa would send home Union J.
Alicia Keys and Olly Murs perform on the X Factor next week.
So, this was kinda predictable. It was always clear Union J were the preferred boyband and they clearly were better in the sing off. Not that District3 sucked – they are still miles ahead of One Direction’s singing on the X Factor two years ago. But, One Direction had Simon Cowell and backing tracks behind them. What’s more, they looked perfect – cohesive, but each member had an individual look. It was relatively easy to tell them apart.
That’s definitely not the case with Union J. I recognize George Shelley as the one with the guitar and Harry Styles hairstyle, but the other three are still only Triple J for me.
District3 are more individually recognizable, but they always sounded a bit cheesy and AC, so I’m not surprised TPTB switched their support to Union J. Both boybands and their fans managed to make trending topics on Twitter today, but they still landed in the bottom. Union J has no chance to win this.
Rylan’s X Factor journey is likely coming to an end next week. Unless Chris Maloney somehow ends up in the bottom 2. TPTB need to do something about Maloney because his presence on the show is getting scary. No one on the show likes him, Little Mix think he is fake, but he has yet to hit the bottom 2. The moment Chris hits bottom 2, he is gone. Just like Janet Devlin last season. If he somehow wins, he is getting:
– an album of covers for Mother’s day,
– dropped before the start of season 10,
– airbrushed from the history of X Factor.
