Time is running by so fast. It seems like Little Mix won season 8 of The X Factor only yesterday, but tonight airs the first episode of season 9. Host Dermot O’Leary is back. Gary Barlow still holds the title of head judge, Tulisa is extra feisty and mad uncle Louis Walsh is reportedly “in it to win it”. Scary. What’s even more scary, Nicole Scherzinger bagged the 4th spot on the judging panel right before the end of audition rounds.

Tonight’s audition episode features Prince and Rod Stewart lookalikes, P!nk impersonator, Tulisa lookalike, a group of firemen and 16-years-old Adele wannabe. Scary Spice Mel B appears as a guest judge at Manchester auditions. She is a judge on X Factor Australia.

According to TV Guide, tonight’s show airs at 8pm BST (3pm EDT, 12pm PDT) on ITV1 (75min). The Xtra Factor premieres at 9:30pm BST (65min) on ITV2.

Curtis Golden was hoping that his prized collection of Spice Girls memorabilia would be enough to win over Mel B. It wasn’t. SCARY Spice branded him, ‘annoying and irritating.’ The other Judges, however, loved him. Phew!

    This sixteen year old, Ella, is good, but I can see the show chewing her up.  She’s very talented though, and seems like she’s a good songwriter.

    This show always has a sudden end during the early episodes.  It never seems like there’s a logical reason to how they decide on an ending.

    Nicole seems much more comfortable on this panel than the US one. I actually liked her tonight, I thought she had good things to say, especially to that awful pink impersonator. She is quite beautiful.

    Every singing competition should have a Mel B on the panel!
    She is not being nasty, just realistic, and it is kinder to give a reality check to bad singer than giving them false hopes.

    So, I’m watching the episode back and Nicole Scherzinger says in her intro she is a scary bitch. Where was that scary bitch last year?

    nope.  not at all.

    but he needs to rein in some of the calisthenics.  it worked for this particular performance but you can’t expect that to always work with the rest

    Ella sounded really cool but i wonder if the quiver in her voice was her emoting or just nerves. if it’s the latter, hopefully she won’t easily succumb to presure
