It’s solo or no go! X Factor hopeful left in tears as judges ask her to ditch her best friends to continue in competition
Teenager Hannah Sheares is left in tears when X Factor judges ask her to ditch her best friends and go solo to stand a chance in the contest.
The 17-year-old shop assistant is heartbroken when she is forced to make a decision about whether she would like to continue in the competition alone after trying out with her group The Daisy Chains.
Viewers will on Saturday see the young hopeful being told by the panel that she is ‘carrying’ the others and needs to choose her career or her friends.

Brings a flower for Nicole. Aww, the guy has a crush. Sings Whitney Houston’s “I Look To You”. Can actually carry a tune. The judges are surprised. Sharon says no, the others put him through.
Sam Callahan, 18, from Essex
WGWG, covers “You Are Beautiful”. He is very good looking. Gary says no, the others put him through.
Paul Akister, 24
Sings “A Change Is Gonna Come”, 4 X YES. Judges say he needs to work on his stage presence.

Made it to the end of bootcamp last year. Has a young son.
Plays guitar and sings “Always” by Bon Jovi. He is good. 4 X YES. Daughtry’s “What About Now” plays in the background.
Green Boots, Trisha and Dean, 20 and 18
A couple. They hold hands and look into each others eyes while they sing. They aren’t very good. It’s a no from all 4 judges.

They sing “Stop in The Name of Love” by The Supremes. Terrible group, but the judges think Hannah Sheares should advance as a soloist. Hannah is torn, doesn’t want to leave her friends behind. Drama outside the audition room. In the end, Hannah decides to continue on her own.

Works in a call center, just came to his audition from a night shift and is pretty exhausted. Judges think he has a good voice. 4 X YES.

Sing-along group. My God. I guess a good way to end the episode? Gary thinks Louis would fit into the group great. 4 X YES

It’s good to have you back! Joseph Whelan gives it a second go on The X Factor… and wins the judges over (with a little help from his son)
He was sensationally axed from The X Factor after the bootcamp stage of the show last year, after originally being one of the favourites to win the 2013 competition.
And at first he was furious, even accusing the show of being a fix when he was told he hadn’t got through to the live stages.
But it seems 27-year-old Joseph Whelan has let the upset settle in as he decided to give the contest another try this year.
