FANS of The X Factor are already hailing the show’s new king — and his name is ARTHUR, a poll for The Sun ahead of the final starting tonight reveals.
Half of those glued to the ITV1 series reckon gravel-voiced James Arthur, 24, will grab the crown — despite bookies last night claiming there is NO clear favourite.
High-pitched Jahmene Douglas, 22 — seen as his biggest rival — is backed to go all the way by just over a third.
Ex-cruise ship crooner Christopher Maloney will be ousted in the first part of the final tonight, according to a huge majority of the 6,363 viewers quizzed.
But if by some miracle it is HIM in the final two on tomorrow’s show with James, the Scouser, 34, stands no chance.
Three quarters of those who have already made their minds up say James, of Saltburn, Teesside, will romp home if that happens. Even if Jahmene, from Swindon, gets through, the number saying that James will beat him rises to 55 per cent.
It will put paid to Jahmene releasing Beatles classic Let It Be as his winner’s song, The Sun can reveal.
James, meanwhile, has picked an obscure track that reached just No9 in the charts two years ago for his shot at the Christmas No1.
Called Impossible, it was released by Bajan singer Shontelle. Cheesy Christopher has plumped for The Reason by US band Hoobastank if he pulls off an unlikely win.

Later this evening, Christopher Maloney, Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will begin battling it out to win the 2012 series of the X Factor, and a once-in-a-lifetime chance of a major label recording contract.
However, according to the Official Charts Company’s analysis of all the show’s former contestants, they could all already be winners. The Top 10 biggest selling debut singles and albums by previous X Factor stars is dominated exclusively by acts who made it into the final three of each year’s competition.

But whilst the winners have traditionally secured the Christmas number one, their careers have not always seen continued success compared to the competition’s runners up over the years.

The 24-year-old, who topped our poll to find out your winning act, looked relaxed as he headed into the Manchester Central venue.
Jahmene Douglas, 22, was also showing no signs of nerves as he gave a thumbs up for the cameras.
While cruise ship crooner Christopher Maloney, 34, wasn’t taking any chances with a scarf wrapped tightly around his throat amid fears he is losing his voice.

Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos have admitted that they do not want Christopher Maloney to win The X Factor.
When asked to name their choice of winner, both judges praised finalists Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur, but agreed that the 34-year-old Liverpudlian would “struggle in the long term” in the music industry.
Speaking to journalists including Digital Spy, Walsh said: “I wouldn’t be disappointed [if Maloney won], because I think long term the talent always wins – look at Olly [Murs]… One Direction. They didn’t win the show, but they have amazing careers.”
He added: “[Maloney]’s a good singer, he’s a nice guy, but we’re looking for a star.”

He’s gearing up for the biggest performance of his life as the X Factor comes to an end this weekend.
However, despite practising for his duet alongside Gary Barlow, it’s thought Christopher Maloney is seriously fearing for his voice.
According to reports the Liverpudlian wore a sign saying ‘on voice rest’ on Thursday and was unable to get through an entire song.

Cheryl Cole was dropped from Simon Cowell’s talent show.
The British pop star got the axe as a judge on the US version of X Factor and now she’s reportedly suing the show’s producers saying she’s owed $2.3 million in pay.
Cheryl, 29, who previously sat at the judges’ table on X Factor UK, was brought on board the American version in 2011 after signing a lucrative deal.
Although the Promise This singer was let go from the show before Season One even got under way, she wants her money, more than $2 million of it, TMZ is reporting.
Cheryl claims that she signed a ‘Pay or Play’ contract with Blue Orbit Productions that assured her $1.8 million for the first season and $2 million for the second even if she didn’t appear on the programme.
Furthermore, the model-author says producers promised to pay her various miscellaneous expenses for each season.
