Melanie Masson became the second X Factor contestant to be booted off the show after receiving the lowest number of public votes.
There was no repeat of Louis Walsh’s antics this time round as the Irish judge was the first mentor to give his verdict on the sing off between District 3 and Melanie.
The boy band and the redhead found themselves in the bottom two after all the other acts were sent through to the next week of competition.

She’s had a hectic weekend, but X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger clearly wasn’t ready for the party to end as she headed out in Mayfair after Sunday night’s live show.
Nicole, who had wowed during the show in a floor-length chiffon Kristian Aadnevik gown, made a quick change into an equally show-stealing dress for dinner with Louis Walsh and producer Richard Holloway.
The trio, who have become close during filming, headed to C Restaurant in Mayfair for an intimate dinner.

On Sunday night they caused havoc after they allegedly attacked staff and disturbed fellow guests at the Corinthia Hotel London.
Now, Rylan Clark and Lucy Spraggan are paying the price for their shameful behaviour as they have been ejected from their luxury accommodation.
The two X Factor contestants looked sheepish as they were escorted from their posh hotel on Tuesday night following their boozy and lewd antics.

Accompanied by fellow contestant Lucy Spraggan – who also had a trim – the 23-year-old was spotted having a haircut and a shave with X Factor hairstylist Jamie Stevens.

Vocal coach David Grant has criticised The X Factor and controversial contestant Rylan Clark.
The former Fame Academy coach told Sky News that Clark is “unbelievably fame-hungry”.
“You have had in the many years of X Factor many people desperate for success. But this is the first person I have ever seen that would dress up and cross the street to be at the opening of an envelope,” he said.
