One Direction’s fans AREN’T all screaming teenage girls as band’s popularity rises among the middle-aged
They are known for attracting throngs of screaming girls wherever they go around the world.
But now it has been revealed that One Direction have built up a surprisingly strong fan base among women over 50.
A study into the popularity of Britain’s favourite boy-band found that nearly half of One Direction fans are old enough to be their parents, while more than a seventh could be their grandparents.

Niall Horan showed fans before and after shots after having braces removed from his teeth and it’s clear the One Direction singer is now sporting a smile worthy of Hollywood.
The 19-year-old singer had his braces put on in December 2011 and ahead of having them removed on Wednesday he tweeted his delight over losing the straightening device.
He posted: ‘Morning. ! This is it ! I’m goin to the dentist! I think this is my last hour with braces! Oh how I’m gona miss them ! Naaaaaaat !’
And after having them removed he posted a snap of his old crooked teeth next to his new perfect smile, showing the difference the braces have made.

Olly Murs has revealed he’s quit hosting duties on The Xtra Factor because he needs to get his work-life balance right.
The star juggled fronting The X Factor spin-off show with his career as a pop musician in 2011 and 2012, but has ruled himself out of returning to the show this year as he is too busy with his other commitments.
He told The Sun newspaper: ‘It’s going to be a shame not to do The Xtra Factor again. I’m gutted because it’s been a huge part of my life for the last two years.

‘X Factor’ group Union J sign major book deal ahead of debut single
X Factor group Union J have announced details of a major book deal.
The band have signed a deal with Penguin and Michael Joseph to publish their memoirs ahead of their debut album, which is due for release later this year.
“I’m over the moon to be working with Union J on their first book,” Editorial Director Daniel Bunyard said. “They have huge talent, a great chemistry together and a genuine passion towards what they’re doing.
“This will be a massive title for later this year, packed full of exclusive, beautifully-shot photography.”

The first day of X Factor 2013’s open auditions started on Saturday at London’s ExCel centre, and the amount of people who arrived proved that the show has not lost its appeal.
Close to 8,000 hopefuls showed up with some queuing from 5am to secure a spot to sing in front of producers.
The look in their eyes showed they were hopeful of making it through to the next stage in the show where they will get to sing in front of the judges.

They have offered a big money package to lure him back for his third series.
But Gary is also anxious about signing up as his family are still mourning the loss of their baby, Poppy, who was stillborn in August.
His family were heartbroken so it is vital that Gary is there for wife Dawn and their three children.
