Exclusive! Simon Cowell on One Direction: ‘There’s no tantrums, they are very grounded’
There was only one thing on our mind when we bumped into Simon Cowell at the BRITs last week…

What did he think of his old boy band 5ive on The Big Reunion and is he worried that One Direction could end up just like them?

“No, we have the very best team imaginable for the boys,” he told heat exclusively. “They are the most grounded artists I’ve ever worked with. They’re really nice boys, so there are no tantrums. It’s my job to make sure they are happy.”

‘I never meant to hurt you’: Jade Anderson, 14, begs for forgiveness on Twitter after hitting Harry Styles in the groin with flying shoe
Teenage One Direction fan Jade Anderson has begged her idol Harry Styles for forgiveness on Twitter after accidentally hitting him in the groin with her shoe.

The 14-year-old posted an online message to the heartthrob after she injured him at a concert in Glasgow on Tuesday when she threw one of her shoes at the stage, catching him in a most painful region.

Clearly distraught at having caused the popstar any pain, she grovelled to him on the social networking site as she faced a barrage of abuse from fans.

1D goes 2D! One Direction gets a cartoon makeover for Beano charity issue
They’re about to release their first movie in 3D, but One Direction got a 2D makeover in the Comic Relief issue of the Beano.

The kid’s cartoon strip gave Louis Tomlinson, 21, Zayn Malick, 20, and 19-year olds Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne a cartoon makeover for the special edition, putting them in stories with the famous spiky haired Dennis The Menace.

The boys will feature in the monthly spin-off of BeanoMAX as a tribute to the 25th anniversary of Red Nose Day.

Jake Bugg fuels One Direction feud: ‘The ugliest one is the best singer’
Jake Bugg has continued his feud with One Direction by suggesting that they shouldn’t be considered a legitimate band.

The singer-songwriter made his latest dig while on the NME Awards red carpet, where he was asked how he feels about the group being nominated for ‘Worst Band’.

“I don’t know how they can really be considered a band, to be honest. I’m not too sure. I think the more I play on it, it’ll wind them up,” ITV News quotes Bugg as saying.

He added: “They’re there to look good. Music-wise? I assume they don’t really have a clue.

“We’ll just see. They might do. Probably the ugliest one is the best singer. He might know a couple of chords.”

One Direction, Harry Styles are ‘Worst Band’, ‘Villain’ at NME Awards
One Direction have been named ‘Worst Band’ at this year’s NME Awards, with singer Harry Styles branded ‘Villain of the Year’.

The ‘Live While We’re Young’ group were up against Muse, Mumford & Sons, Alt-J, Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran in the category, and were revealed as the ‘winners’ at a ceremony hosted by Russell Kane at London’s Troxy on Wednesday night.

It is the second year in a row that the group have picked up the unwanted title.

Meanwhile, Styles ‘beat’ Skrillex, Psy, Fred Macpherson, Azealia Banks and David Cameron to the dubious ‘Villain’ honour, while last year’s recipient Bieber failed to make the nominations.

Styles previously quipped that he wanted to win the award, noting: “You’ve got to take the rough with the smooth but I don’t really feel like I’ve done anything that bad. Should be fun!”

One Direction songwriting session was interesting, say The Vaccines
The Vaccines frontman Justin Young has described his recent songwriting sessions with One Direction as “interesting”.

The singer admitted that working with the boyband was a “creative process” and that he wanted to do it because it was something very different from what he’s used to.

“It was a really interesting creative process, writing with pretty much the biggest pop band on the planet,” Young told BBC Newsbeat.

“It was a very different world and very different process – that was one of the reasons I wanted to do it. I really enjoyed it.

“I felt like I took so much from doing it. I’ve always said I love pop music and how much I want to write pop music.”

Little Mix Discusses ‘Wings,’ Crazy Fans and U.S. Takeover
British girl group’s debut album due out in the U.S. this summer.

Barely a year after forming as a four-piece vocal group on the U.K. version of “The X Factor,” the members of Little Mix were already inspiring fan madness when they touched down in Australia for their inaugural visit last October. After being mobbed at Sydney Airport by screaming fans, the quartet regrouped in a tour bus and received an unsanitary expression of affection outside of it.

“Someone licked a window,” recalls the group’s Jesy Nelson. The group proceeded to laugh it off as the tour bus sped away. “It’s a compliment though!”

Olly Murs interview: “I’ve had my battles to be recognised”
When Olly Murs finished second on The X Factor back in 2009, nobody could have predicted the success story he has become.

Three albums into his career, the Essex singer is tipped for global domination and appears to be going from strength to strength.

Digital Spy caught up with Olly to talk about his impending international stardom and what his plans are for the next album.

That’s awkward! Olly Murs is left red-faced as Graham Norton outs his ‘crush’ on Mila Kunis in front of her
Olly Murs has made no secret of the fact that Mila Kunis is his ideal woman, posting tweets about his ‘crush’ on the star.

But the Troublemaker singer didn’t know what he was letting himself in for when he performed on The Graham Norton Show this week, only to be embarrassed in front of the Oz star by the host.

The former X Factor contestant was left red-faced when cheeky comedian Graham told Mila about the ‘crush’ while they were sitting together on the show.

‘The X Factor’ judges merry-go-round: Who will be in the 2013 lineup?
We’re right in the heart of silly season in X Factor land. With memories of James Arthur, Rylan Clark and MK1 (remember them!) slowly drifting away, talk of series 10 and this year’s judging lineup had become a hot topic for Saturday night TV fans currently stuck in a pre-Voice/Britain’s Got Talent Saturday no-man’s land with only D-listers in drag on Let’s Dance and some bloke from EastEnders ice skating to save us.

So who will be behind the desk on this year’s X Factor? Digital Spy takes a look at the judges merry-go-round to try and figure out who is in and who is out.

Louis Walsh
Will Louis be back? Of course he bloody will.

Nothing is certain in life but death, taxes and Louis Walsh remaining on The X Factor.

Cheryl Cole set for return to X Factor after making up with Simon Cowell
THE singer is set for a triumphant return after forgiving the pop mogul for ditching her from the American version of the talent show.

CHERYL COLE is ready to rejoin Simon Cowell’s X Factor after forgiving the pop mogul.

The Girls Aloud star, who fell out with Cowell after she was bumped from the US version of the TV talent show, says she would not rule out a return.

A source said: “It’s no secret that the whole American experience left her very hurt and angry but life’s too short.

“If the deal’s right and it looks as if she would enjoy the people she would be working with, Cheryl will go back.

“X Factor really helped Cheryl focus when she was going through a tough time in her life and she has a soft spot for it.

“She’s in a good position. Both she and Cowell are aware of how much her return could help to improve ratings.”

“In a good place now”: Gary Barlow set for X Factor return after feud with Simon Cowell ends
Insiders say the pair, who had not spoken since last February, have recently held peace talks to patch up their differences
Simon Cowell has ended his year-long feud with Gary Barlow – paving the way for the Take That star to return as an X Factor judge.

Insiders say the pair, who had not spoken since last February, have recently held peace talks to patch up their differences.

A source close to Cowell told the Mirror: “Simon and Gary are in a good place now – and Gary looks a good bet to be back on the show this year.”

The singer was strongly tipped to walk away after a string of bust-ups during his time on last year’s series.

Cowell had made it obvious that he was not a fan and did not see Barlow as an integral part of the set-up.

In a biography, Sweet Revenge, written with his blessing, he described him as “wooden”.

The female’s cross
Tulisa gutted at X Factor axing

THE only ITV show TULISA has to worry about next year is The Big Reunion.

The singer is crestfallen after finally being officially axed from The X Factor.

She guided LITTLE MIX to glory in her debut year of 2011, earning herself a bumper pay rise and the profile she has always dreamed of.

But she got a bit too big for her boots in her second series.

Her exit means she can concentrate on reuniting N-DUBZ — just as well after her debut album The Female Boss flopped — and pitching the idea of a comeback tour alongside SO SOLID CREW, 3 OF A KIND and BIG BROVAZ to ITV2.

A source said: “To say Tulisa is gutted is an understatement. She’s a bit embarrassed to be on the scrapheap when she delivered with Little Mix.

Tulisa could still have the X-Factor: Singer has not been officially axed from the judging panel
Contrary to reports this week, Tulisa Contostavlos has not been officially axed from the X Factor panel.

She met X Factor executive producer Richard Holloway on Tuesday night, who told her: ‘It’s all still to play for.’

A source close to the star tells me: ‘She’s realistic that she might not be back but Richard was very positive about her and said no final decisions had been made.’

But as Simon Cowell’s annual X Factor chess game juggling the judging line-up continues at a pace, I’m told Sharon Osbourne may return to the UK show as a judge or make her debut on the U.S. version in place of Britney Spears.

My X Factor source says: ‘Simon hasn’t made his mind up. Sharon was about to sign up as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent but that’s now been put on hold so she can remain available for The X Factor if needed.’

EXCLUSIVE: Simon Cowell wooing Sharon Osbourne to replace Melanie Brown on X Factor Australia
Sharon Osbourne is being wooed to go to Down Under by Simon Cowell – to star on X Factor Australia.

In a very showbiz job swap, Cowell, 53, wants Mrs O to replace Spice Girl Mel B on the Antipodean version of the TV talent hit – as Mel’s taking over from Mrs O on America’s Got Talent.

Although Sharon, 60, had been linked with a big return to X Factor UK, a source told MailOnline: ‘Simon is really keen for Sharon to go to Australia and be a judge over there.

Don’t rule her out yet! Sharon Osbourne is still favourite to replace Tulisa on X Factor judging panel… but Robbie Williams is hot on her heels
Sharon Osbourne is still the hot favourite to replace Tulisa on this year’s X Factor, according to bookmakers Paddy Power.

The 60-year-old TV personality, who was previously a judge on the panel back from 2004 to 2007, has been given odds of 6/5 to make a return to the ITV1 show.

And a source told MailOnline that an Osbourne comeback is still a possibility, saying: ‘It’s a wildcard. But I wouldn’t rule it out.’
