Zayn Malik Talks One Direction Exit in Beats 1 Interview: ‘I Always Kind of Wanted to Go’
Zayn Malik will join Zane Low on Beats 1 Thursday morning for his first broadcast interview since leaving One Direction, discussing the band he left behind and sharing brand new music.
The full interview will be broadcast at 9 a.m. PST on Beats 1 and in video Apple Music. In advance, Lowe teased clips on Wednesday (Jan. 27) on the streaming radio station and in video.
“No one quite knows what to expect because what’s been established already may not necessarily paint the picture for the future,” said Lowe on Wednesday’s broadcast.

The track, entitled Pillowtalk, was trending worldwide within minutes of the former One Direction singer releasing it on his official Twitter page in the early hours of the morning.
And although he received slack for leaving the 1D boys – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne – in the middle of a world tour last March, all seems to be forgiven as the song reached no.1 in no less than 60 countries on iTunes on the day it was released.

FORMER One Direction star Zayn Malik has cancelled his first television appearance as a solo artist on Graham Norton’s chat show.
The Bradford-born singer, 23, was supposed to appear on the show on Friday evening but has now pulled out due to “scheduling” issues.
He was due to pre-record the show tomorrow evening alongside the cast of the new Dad’s Army film – including Catherine Zeta-Jones – and Hollywood stars Will Smith and Ryan Reynolds.
It would have been his first ever appearance without his former 1D bandmates.

Ben Haenow has become the latest reality show casualty after being dropped by Simon Cowell’s record label, a mere 13 months after beating Fleur East to the winner’s title.
Axing the the 31-year-old Croydon van driver from his roster of artists at Syco reportedly proved a tough call for the music mogul.
A source told The Sun: ‘Simon made the decision with a heavy heart. He was a big supporter of Ben but it’s simply down to business – Fleur East, who came second, has done much better.’
The insider continued: ‘And at the end of the day our winners, especially the blokes, never have the same success as the likes of One Direction and Olly Murs.’

They say it’s not the winning that counts, but rather the taking part – and that couldn’t ring more true with Simon Cowell’s The X Factor.
The music mogul now only has two of the ITV talent show’s 12 winners so far signed to his Syco record label, after 2014 champ Ben Haenow announced his departure last night (January 28).
The Syco roster’s X Factor winners still include Little Mix who won the show in 2011, and the latest victor, Louisa Johnson.
However, Simon seemingly has more faith in the show’s runners-up as he still has seven of them in deals at Syco Music.
