Beatlemania! One Direction fans swarm airport to greet idols… and there’s plenty of girls for newly-single Harry to choose
They’ve only been famous for a year, but One Direction were welcomed with an A-list reception last night as they touched down on US soil.

The British boyband have flown across the Atlantic in a bid to crack the American market, including asupport slot on the Big Time Rush tour and a cameo stint on Nickelodeon sitcom iCandy.

An army of fans waited with placards at LAX airport – largely dominated by girls, but with a handful of boys too – hinting this year’s X Factor winners Little Mix could be in for a successful future too.

MTV News exclusive: the British boy band will play themselves on an episode of Miranda Cosgrove’s hit Nick show.

“iCarly” is about to feel the effects of a British Invasion. The show has just booked British boy band One Direction to appear on the fifth season of the Miranda Cosgrove-starring show.

The guys will be on set Monday to tape their appearance on the episode, during which they will be play themselves and perform “What Makes You Beautiful.”

The 50-year-old property developer – two years Simon’s junior – praised his brother’s ‘unbelievable’ achievement and revealed that he ‘works hard’.

Nicholas bought his first property when he was 20 and his company, The Estate Office, recently paid £17?million for the 70-room, five-star Verta hotel and spa in Battersea.

However, Harry hit out at reports he had ‘dumped’ The Xtra Factor host, insisting the decision was mutual.

Amanda Holden’s three-day fight for life: Mum given emergency blood tranfusions after giving birth prematurely to baby Hollie
Amanda Holden was in ‘critical condition’ for three days as she battled for life.

The mother-of-two required several emergency blood transfusions after coming close to death while giving birth to her second daughter.

Baby Hollie Rose – who was born on Monday by Caesarean section at a London hospital – and was immediately put on a respirator in a special care unit.

She weighed in at 6lb 1oz and is said to be ‘healthy’.

Amanda Holden did not see her newborn baby daughter for the first three days of her life, it was revealed last night.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 40, went into labour a month early on Monday and her baby Hollie Rose was delivered later that day by emergency caesarean.

She was kept apart from newborn daughter for three days while she recovered in intensive care in hospital, where she was deemed to be in a ‘critical condition’.

Amanda Holden’s husband Chris Hughes has expressed his gratitude to doctors who saved his wife’s life after she ‘nearly died’ during the birth of their daughter Hollie Rose.

Holden, 40, gave birth to her second child on Monday but spent three days in a critical condition.

The actress is now stable after being treated in an intensive care unit but is expected to take a while to recover.
