X Factor UK Headlines for 03/23/14

Simon Cowell is NOT the devil (Seriously!), Cheryl Cole’s return sparks surge in auditions.

Breaking news: Simon Cowell is NOT the devil
I HATE to be the bearer of disappointing news, but Simon Cowell and Satan are not the same person. I know this will come as a terrible blow for some people, but I think it’s only fair we get this straight.

Yes, Simon Cowell is NOT the living embodiment of pure evil. Sorry about that.

And I’m bringing up this topic because..?

Well, because Simon’s in the headlines again, isn’t he? Or, if he isn’t right now, he’s bound to be in the next 20 minutes or so.

After all, the next series of Britain’s Got Talent is only weeks away. Can’t you feel the buzz already? Course you can, don’t lie.

And that’ll be followed, before we know it, by yet another round of X Factor auditions, up and down the country, complete with the freshly shaken-up judging panel that’s been the top talking point and trending topic from here to Crimea, sort of.

Yes, the Cowell season is upon us again – like the football season, it barely takes a break these days – and that means we’ll soon be swamped once more with Cowell-related headlines and gossip and online whining etc. We can’t help ourselves. He’s the man that half the nation loves to slag off. The lazy, easy, obvious target.

Cher Lloyd “Sirens” (Single Premiere)
It has been several months since the release of ‘I Wish‘, the comeback single of English singer-songwriter Cher Lloyd. The track unfortunately wasn’t successful in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world, and therefore, its UK release was finally canceled.

A bad start which caused the delay of Lloyd’s highly-anticipated second studio album entitled ‘Sorry I’m Late‘. Now, it seems we can finally enjoy her new album, which will be released on May 27 via Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment.

X Factor 2014: Cheryl Cole’s return sparks surge in auditions
Cheryl Cole’s return to The X Factor 2014 has sparked a surge in auditions.

Interest in X Factor applications is up 40% in the last week compared to average for the previous month, according to our own data.

It follows the announcement last week that Cheryl would be back on the panel this year alongside Simon Cowell, who announced his own return back in February.

Unsurprisingly singers are lining up to perform for the pair and two other as yet unconfirmed judges.

The new panel may also draw performers back to X Factor and away from Britain’s Got Talent, which has seen hopefuls applying just to be able to sing for Simon.
