One Direction has been moving toward a rock sound lately, and Fall Out Boy has certainly been moving toward pop. According to the Daily Star’s interview with FOB bassist Pete Wentz, the two bands weren’t able to meet in the middle.

“Last time we were in London we wrote with the guys in One Direction,” Wentz admitted. “It was a great session but I don’t know if Fall Out Boy writes what One Direction wants to sing.”

Saturday night’s episode of The Voice UK saw the cousin of One Direction’s Liam Payne, Ross Harris, make his own bid for a singing career.

The professional drummer, who has worked with the likes of Ella Henderson, Union J, The Saturdays and Neon Jungle, attempted to have his moment in the lime light with his impressive blind audition.

Singing Usher’s single, Good Kisser, the session musician started off singing and playing the drums before he let his voice to the rest of the work.

Ella Henderson “Mirror Man” (Official Single Cover)
British singer-songwriter and The X Factor UK finalist Ella Henderson continues to promote her debut studio album “Chapter One“, released on digital retailers on 10 October 2014 via Syco Records.

The next promotional single and fourth official taken from the album is the song “Mirror Man“, written by Henderson with the collaboration of Al Shux and Laura Pergolizzi.

Rebecca Ferguson “Get Happy” (Single Premiere)
British singer-songwriter and The X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson is finally back to the music spotlight with brand new single “Get Happy“.

The track composed by Harold Arlen, with lyrics written by Ted Koehler, echoes themes of a Christian evangelical revivalist meeting song. It’s a classic track also recorded by Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, among others.

It’s confirmed as the lead single taken from Ferguson’s upcoming third studio album “Lady Sings the Blues“, scheduled to be released on 9 March 2015 via RCA Records.

Singer-songwriter Luke Friend signs to RCA Records and announces details of his debut single.

X Factor finalist Luke Friend has signed a new record deal and announced details of his new single.

The singer-songwriter will release Hole In My Heart on March 30 via RCA Records.

The song was co-writter by Luke and One Direction collaborator Roy Stride and is described as “an ode to heartbreak and unrequited love.”

18-year-old Luke competed on the 2013 series of The X Factor where he finished third place, losing out to series winner Sam Bailey. During the final he performed Anything Could Happen with Ellie Goulding.

Last year Luke toured with The Vamps and was chosen by London Mayor Boris Johnson to become an official ambassador for the Busking For London campaign.

But Mel, 39, looks to have put her troubles behind her as she was pictured snuggling up to her man and taking soppy selfies in Los Angeles last week.

The couple were no doubt thrilled to learn that Mel’s boss Simon Cowell, 55, wants her back on two of his biggest shows.
