X Factor Top 4 Results Post-Show Roundup!

THE X FACTOR: Top 4 to 3 Elimination: L-R: Chris Rene, L.A. Reid, Marcus Canty, Melanie Amaro, Simon Cowell, Josh Krajcik and Nicole Scherzinger on THE X FACTOR airing on Thursday, Dec. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. CR: Ray Mickshaw / FOX.

There were no surprises last night as “3 time save me song champion”, Marcus Canty, was finally shown the door. But, here’s a round up of what went on backstage anyway:

Marcus reveals backstage that he wasn’t shocked to be eliminated: (Via EOnline)

Canty revealed he wasn’t shocked to be eliminated from the competition and says Cowell even predicted his exit.

“I’ve had people that have doubted it ,” Canty explained. “Simon flat-out said, ‘There’s no way that he’s winning this competition.’ You’re right, Simon! It’s cool, you’re right, but trust and believe you won’t see the last of me.”

Marcus googles himself. OH NOES (Hollywood Reporter)

“That Marcus Canty is finally gone,” he says with a laugh while glancing at the results of a Google search on a laptop.

Marcus admits: since he’s been on the competition, he’s Googled his own name, but not when he’s feeling bad. “When I feel great about myself, I Google,” he clarifies, ever the optimist as he’s proven time and time again throughout the competition. “I learned to always have positive energy on the show. That’s what it’s about — it’s how you keep fighting.”

The Hollywood Reporter confirms the Drew/Justin Bieber duet for next week’s finale: (THR)

X Factor fan favorite Drew Ryniewicz will see her dream come true next week when she performs on the show’s finale with her idol Justin Bieber. On the set list: two songs from his Under the Mistletoe album, which was just certified platinum marking sales of more than 1 million copies, reported to be “The Christmas Song” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” The performance was taped on Dec. 14 following the broadcast.

Stevie Wonder is also scheduled to appear. The finale airs live from the CBS studios Dec. 21 and 22 on Fox. I’m surprised they aren’t doing a big party at the Nokia like Idol does…

From Entertainment Weekly’s Live Report:

CHRIS’ YOUNG HOMIES Rene’s fans were numerous, and coincidentally, absolutely terrifying. They sat in a large group directly to my right, where they loudly heckled anyone who disagreed with their pick. It felt like the Eagles were playing the Cowboys, or the Lakers were playing the Celtics, or just any competition where the fans get threatening and insane. My favorite part was when a little girl (roughly age 6) stood on a chair in front of a Rene-head, and the disgruntled Rene-head called over security instead of politely asking her to move.

I’m just going to let that stand without comment.
