X Factor Premiere Preview – All Star Game – VIDEO

Check out the World Premiere Preview of THE X FACTOR featured tonight before the MLB’s 82nd All-Star game got underway.

Simon Cowell wakes up from a horrible horrible dream! Don’t worry…he’s still Mr. Cranky pants! Are you looking forward to the X Factor? I am.

X Factor premiers on FOX Sept. 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

ETA: Ha ha, yes, the preview is full of product placement (hello Pepsi and Chevy) and Simon is definitely the star of this show-he even mocks he notion that it’s about anybody but himself in his “nightmare”.

Just in case you forgot that Simon is an egomaniac…

  • Valentin432

That was a preview of “the Simon Cowell show” produced by Simon Cowell, staring Simon Cowell, featuring Simon Cowell, three other people and a guy with also a british accent.

The girl we’ve seen a glimpse at 1:42 looks like that Milwaukee auditionee who drove from Denver to audition

ETA: also don’t forget, Simon Cowell is in this (he’s better than you and drives a very expensive sports car)

  • yaddabing

lol and people complained about Idol product placement.

    It starts in the promos

  • TippyT

Oh my gosh…was that Emma Henry (the annoying 15 year old) from this season of idol at 1:43? O.o What is she doing there? She wasn’t good…

  • Kirsten

lol and people complained about Idol product placement.

I noticed that. Simon made sure the Pepsi and car logos were in every shot he could.

I also notice that Simon apparently wore his pajamas to tape Idol.

Oh, Simon. I hope you came up with some new catch phrases.

  • http://jasonlscott.com jlscott13

I’m actually pretty stoked for this. Bring on Simon!

  • chrislongisland

Liked the video actually, it’s so weird seeing Simon and Paula together again.

Also, what, no Cheryl Cole clips? :)

  • chearts77

Wait, is it called X-Factor or The Simon Cowell Show?

  • Listening

I liked the preview. Initially I was confused when the little girl came out and wasn’t totally blasted by Simon then Simon’s pink sweater had me doing a double take and I was like what is going on. The big reveal was pretty cute/cool.

Only thing was I felt they should have shown more of the good singers actually singing.

Yeah it’s about the judges what else is new so was Idol so was the voice only difference is X-factor isn’t trying to mislead us and act like it isn’t. They’re like hey we’re part of the show too and we’re not gonna play you act like we don’t know it.

  • karenc

I recognised the girl at 1:43 too, forgot her name until I saw it here but looked her up on youtube, and it really looks like her.

I think we’re going to see a lot of overlap. And I wonder how far up someone that was on Idol can go and still compete on X Factor, or if it’s even a problem.

Isn’t 19 managing the X Factor contestants also? Because I would think that would make more of a difference, especially the finalists who would have been already managed by 19 even if only for a short time.

  • Mtlfan

welcome to the Simon Cowell show! lol
The promo is catching.. well done!

  • desiree_chick

LOL, this preview gave me a good laugh. Everything about it is so obnoxious and overtly stylistic, with all the extra, over-exposed product placement….

But I’m still interested to watch and see where this all goes.

Though, really, was there a purpose to all of the judges slo-mo’s, and Simon driving around? I thought I was gonna get a preview of the show, yet all I got was a preview of a Ford/Toyota/Primus/whatever long-extended travel informercial, with snippets of a reality show put in by mistake.

  • thebluemartini

It was so weird seeing Simon in that pink sweater! Lol.

  • karenc

Oh, and the other thing I thought was funny is David Cook has said in a couple of interviews that he had a bad dream where he auditioned for Idol again, but was one of the bad auditions, and Simon was brutal to him. So, at least in the commercial, Simon had a dream about auditioning.

  • Montavilla

You know, I just realized one reason that Simon loves Paula so much and puts her next to him. She makes him look tall.

  • CindyM

Yeah it’s about the judges what else is new so was Idol so was the voice only difference is X-factor isn’t trying to mislead us and act like it isn’t. They’re like hey we’re part of the show too and we’re not gonna play you act like we don’t know it.

Exactly! I loved the preview, thought it was funny and to be honest, I’ll take Simon over Randy Jackson,. JLo or Mid-season Steven Tyler anyday. :)

  • Truthiness

    Well that was shameless.

But honestly, and somewhat enjoyably so. So hey, at least there’s that.

  • gangreen29

Simon is such a phony, I would be more into the X Factor if it wasn’t all about him. This promo was super boring.

  • McCreerian

I will watch but idol will always be the better show…and yes that was Emma Henry you guys saw.
    Steven/Jennifer >>> Simon/Paula

  • desiree_chick

And may I add, it’s hilarious to me how people want to make one show better than the other. To me, watching all these singing shows for three years, it all the same damn thing. Maybe each have their own mechanics, but they are all cheesy television shows, where contestants come and go, and casual viewers eat all shows up, and don’t care with all the bullshit that goes on behind the scenes. Some viewers just want to watch something fun to take mind off things.

  • McCreerian

    No, 19 is Simon Fuller’s.

  • shwriteme

People might think they prefer a softer, friendlier competition, but it really gets boring once you hear the same undeserved praise week after week. I look forward to seeing an honest opinion even if Simon has an ego the size of the Grand Canyon. Most of the time, he says what I’m thinking. Occasionally, I disagree with him, but we all have our own opinions now, don’t we?

Some people might actually prefer it, especially if they think they prefer it LOL.

  • tinawina

I don’t know. I have been underwhelmed with all the “You are perfect!” stuff from the judges on Idol this year for sure, but watching that was odd. I really don’t want to go back to the public humiliation and gratuitous nastiness days either. I would prefer simple constructive criticism without the stupid stuff. All that just seemed like junk I’ve seen before to me. I’m already bored.

  • Buffynut

    Yes! I recognized her too!
I thought that preview was funny, snarky, and well made. It made me laugh and I don’t even want to like this show!

  • just sayin

Oh, I just CAN’T WAIT for this!!

  • jack5791

Looks like a show all about Simon… and when not about him, it will be about the other judges. Promo seemed a little cheesy. I’ll watch, but this isn’t something I’m going to look forward to. I still think Idol will be the biggest singing show.

  • http://www.twilightslo.com Mateja

LOL. They certainly are mocking friendly American Idol of season 10 in the beginning. Simon in pink sweater …

  • allstar

LOVED how they made fun of the horrific American Idol judging in season 10!

  • Jewlmc

Yes, the judging on Idol was so “horrific” that the show did BETTER than when Simon was last on it.

It really drives him nuts, doesn’t it?

  • chrislongisland

Actually, the judging on Idol WAS horrific the last 5 weeks. Disgraceful even. Looking forward to Simon’s brutal honesty coming back to TV. When he is actually invested in a show and not checked out mentally (like he was the last three seasons he was on Idol), he’s the best judge out there.

  • BillyBobJoeBill

    Well that was shameless.

    Can’t wait.

I know! Fun and shameless. I have stopped caring whether reality show judges are gonna be constructive or not anymore. Out of all the singing shows, I’m gonna just sit back and have the most fun with this one.

  • Tess

NOTHING will entice me to watch X-Factor…I know you can’t hate on someone you don’t know but it’s the closest sentiment I can use to describe my feelings about Simon. He makes a mockery of the music industry, right and left, and he uses and abuses peeps just to build up his own ego.

By the way…what has happened to his fiance and his marriage plans….oh yea, just another soul to add to his discarded pile. But then money can buy anything in Simon’s world.

    End of rant!

  • CCOREY2034

Simon is banking on the HUGE SAULA reunion as the big ratings get. Even Nicole S is pimping SAULA saying they are so dynamic. Its really the SAULA reunion that’s getting pimped more then anything in this.

  • windmills

I just watched this and whatever work Simon’s had done in the eye area, it looks ridiculous. So distracting, the only time I paid attention to anything else was when he was wearing sunglasses.

  • McCreerian

Brutal honesty? Like how he pimped Lee Dewyze every week and ignored his pitch problems? The way he threw pointless insults at Siobhan? Simon was a worst judge than the season 10 panel during Season 9. Season 9 made me change my opinion on him.

ETA: lol I didn’t read your last sentence. He is still an overrated judge though. He knows nothing about country music for example.

  • iav1234

uhg. that idol girl sucks ..
