X Factor Alum, Stacy Francis, Cast in “R&B Divas”

Remember X Factor season 1 alum, Stacy Francis? It was nearly 3 years ago when she became part of the narrative surrounding Whitney Houston’s tragic death. Drama seemed to follow the 42 year old singer wherever she went.

It should then, come as no surprise, that she has been cast in a reality series.

The singer talks to Billboard magazine about being the newest cast member of TVOne’s R&B Divas L.A., Stacy said that people will see her in a “different way” as she joins Chanté Moore, Lil’ Mo, Michel’le, Chrisette Michele, Leela James and Christina “Brave” Williams for the series’ third season. “It was quite the ride,” added the diva.

“It was a little scary,” she told Billboard about joining the show. “Reality TV is its own thing, and being in competition on a singing show is different than doing this kind of reality show. They follow your life a lot more, and I don’t get to sing as much. This is more dialogue- and drama-driven … and more about me personally and my life and my kids and interacting with people. I had a really great time doing it.”

Stacy will be shown in a concert that raises money for cancer research at the House of Blues. The singer, who has been honored by the Reverend Jessie Jackson and the Rainbow Push Coalition for her humanitarian work, is happy that R&B Divas will give her an opportunity to reveal the positive side of her personality and to “defend my own character.”

Nevertheless, I have no doubt that her reputation as a Drama Queen fueled producers decision to cast her. Producer, Phil Thornton, invited her to be on the show after he “became familiar with her from both X Factor and her presence on social media.”  Expect lots of hair pulling and wine glass throwing. I’m sure Stacy will not disappoint.

There was a time when I could not get enough of her, to be honest. Check out these posts from the archive, and you’ll see what I mean.
