You watched the Top 8 perform on X Factor tonight, now vote for your favorite performance.

I thought Carly (or her handlers) overdid it a bit with the arrangement, but any other contestant and that would have been a “moment.”  Again, she may run into some of the same problems Melinda Doolittle (and, to some extent, Chris Daughtry) had: Expectations for her are sky-high, so traditional “professional” performances might not cut it.

That said, if she stays #1 this week, she’ll really start to be a prohibitive favorite, especially if Emblem3 doesn’t move up into the #2 spot. Though looking at Twitter right now, #IVotedE3 is trending, so there could be a reorder at the top.

After 347 votes, Cece Frey is in 3rd place.  She needs to put those cat paws back on her face because she certainly has nine lives.

On this poll right now Emblem 3 is third lowest, meaning they’ll grace the bottom of the heap sing-off.  I’d give money for that to happen.

I didn’t have a favorite performance. I thought Paige and Carly Rose probably gave the best performances, but I felt disconnected from Carly Rose (she is too young to be singing a song about an ex lover) and Paige continues to come off as nothing more than a Rihanna wannabe, rather than an original artist in her own right.

I didn’t see Tate’s perfomance (I was switching back and forth from XF to Property Brothers) but I’d guess he was his usual steady self. I don’t see him as original at all, but if he wins, I think he will do decently in terms of a career as a country artist.

Emblem3 is my favorite! They are fun, they harmonize, good singers, and they can play instruments.

I was torn between Pagie and surprising Tate for best performance. They’re actually the only two of the night I really enjoyed.  I went w/ Pagie b/c her tone was more unique but it was close.

I hate when Stronger is done by a group number, especially when people don’t have the lungs that Kelly has to back it up it just flops.

  • blackberryharvest

Technically, Carly was the best, but Tate was my favorite.

i don’t want doucheband3 to be in the choices

  • Whatiswrongwithus

Wow! In this poll, Cece beat Tate??!!! LOL! Seems like there are many closet Cece lovers in here!

Emblem3 fanbase is not on MJ’s.  They are tweeting and texting and the under 25 demo.  I doubt they will win ( One Direction didnt win) but they will be signed and I would wager they become very successful.

My prediction is Carly will win because she will pick up the votes from Diamond, Paige, CeCe when they are voted off.  Sad to see that so many prefer CeCe to Paige.  I can see Paige as a recording artist but IMO CeCe is a train wreck.

    My guess is
     the final three will be

    Carly Rose
    Tate Stevens
    Emblem3

    in that order.

If Emblem3 bring out the instruments and more and more under 25s start watching and voting for them, they could upset the top 3 and take this.

I doubt it as the power voting demo is over 40 and the appeal of Emblem3 is not appreciated in this demo.  IMO

If CeCe doesn’t get the boot tonight and better singers and performers go home it will be a shame.

In danger it seems to be Veno, Diamond and Paige.  I personally felt Paige gave one of the best performances last night.

I agree with you but I think Tate might win this. It will be interesting to see the vote tonight. I also think E3 will be very successful as 1D did not win and look at them now.

Some frustrating, surprising, refreshing moments. The wardrobes are getting better and better especially for Diamond and Carly. They look their age and seem like outfits that would suit their styles.

    Diamond: B+
Good concept. Relevant modern arrangement with variety. I agree with LA that it wasn’t executed as well as it should have. But I agree with Simon that she did put all that she could do in the performance. Britney is right. It’s time for Diamond to take some risks. She will never beat Carly at the same game. She needs to play a different one.

    Vino: C+
Why could they not find any good songs for him? Even the one he chose wasn’t much better than the one LA chose. I thought they were both weak. He needs another song like Sober.

    Paige: B+
I LOL’d so hard when I realised what song this was. But to my surprise this was the best performance of hers so far for me. The arrangement was great and there was a very good balance with the dancers. Everything felt very authentic. But with this great idea. Again it is the execution that let her down. I thought with this concept she could have done far better with the vocals.

    Fifth Harmony: B-
Demi was completely right. The standing in one place completely drained all the energy from this song. This is not the song you give them to stand in one spot. LA and Britney is also right. This is a pretty good group song…. but only if they had decent harmony (which they didn’t) otherwise you just pale in comparison to Kelly by just singing the melody. I really believe that this group could have made the finale given the right songs. This week they NEEDED a breakout. Simon got the timing wrong. These girls really needed to figure out the right direction and figure out a plan with Simon. But I think it’s too late now.

    Carly: A > Holly and Haley’s covers.
WOW. How did this girl manage to turn the worst concept ever into gold. This is one of the best covers I have ever heard…. and we’ve all me included heard more than enough covers of this song. Britney said “Rolling in the Deep” and I chucked something. I was prepared to hate it. I disagree with Simon I thought the 1st half was just as good as the 2nd half if not better. It was the tone, phrasing and effortless control that made it sound so much beyond the many many mediocre covers I’ve heard. You go Miss Soneclar! I thought this performance was just as good as last weeks. A technical element, I thought her big notes were much much stronger than in previous weeks.
P.S. Good advice from Big Bro he seems really down to earth not the sorta cheesy bro that tells you your the best thing since sliced bread. I follow him on twitter. I think he has some really sophisticated music taste and its definitely rubbed off on Carly.

    Tate Stevens: A-
“Somebody Like You” … I was like “Someone Like You”??? WTF?! Another Adele… LOL. Nah this risk paid off. I like it when contestants change it up and its something I would look for when considering votes. Tate brought so much energy to this and unlike some of the others he executed it really really well. Sure it was probably nothing too special. But I think Tate needed this to lift some stress off a very intense environment.

    CeCe: B+
FINALLY. The OLD CECE has somewhat returned! Well I got one of the song choices right haha just not for the right act lol. But now that I think about it… perfect song choice for CeCe. Some little falsetto’s and phrasing that are pretty characteristic of her all came back in this performance. My only problem was the pitch. Why has she lost her ability to sing on pITCH?! This would have been sso so good if she executed it better. O well at least she goes down being her original self. It’s a shame it’s too late.

    Emblem3: B
Execution great. They need to teach Fifth HARMONY how to harmonize cos they make them look like jokes in this department. Concept … ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! At first I wanted to chuck something at Simon. Then Wes started to ramble. All my hopes riding on this group just came flooding back. I think Simon and the boys are going for the WIN. At last confirmation that an ORIGINAL is coming… they are just TIMING it correctly. I knew it. I don’t think America is ready for their originals because it is on another level compared to this silly silly idea they did tonight.

Marcus Canty, Chris Rene & Melanie Amaro have all had Simon and/or LA Reid behind them. So far Marcus & Chris have had limited success and Melanie’s singles have been but a blip.  We will see what happens when Melanie’s cd comes out. She may end up selling less than Chris.  I think it will be a harder job to break E3 in the US from scratch than it was bringing 1D over after having been successful in the UK already.

I think anyone who isn’t a cowboy or a broadway singer is in jeopardy today. Douchebag3 would be too, but they have a small army supporting them, so I think they will also be safe.

  • steve2013

Technically Carly was but I didn’t have a favorite this week. I don’t know if ts just be but with carly I just dont find myself connecting with her but saying that id be amazed if she or tate doesn’t win.

    Who I liked: 1.Carly 2. Fifth Harmony 3. CeCe

  • kmd23

I don’t believe that Melanie will have much success at all even when her CD comes out. Same with Marcus although Chris Rene has had some moderate success.  E3 are different as they will have the tweens and teens as a fanbase. I can just see them as an opening act for 1D.
