You watched the X Factor 2 Final Performances, now VOTE IN THE POLLS!

Who was your favorite finalist?

Who Will Win the X Factor?

Favorite Performance?

  • Stavros

I think Tate will win. Fifth Harmony and Carly are going to split votes to a tee, which opens up a gap just big enough for Tate to take it.

I’m Example #1, I’m conflicted as to whether I’d rather have Carly or Fifth Harmony take it! Votes to both!

  • Stavros

I thought Hallelujah was so powerful. For some reason seeing young Carly up there singing I thought of Sandy Hook and children’s faces. It made me a little emotional. I think she sold me with that one.

  • tomr

First time I’ve watched the entire show since the auditions (stopped watching because Britney is SO bad).  Really liked 5th Harmony but Tate deserves to win.  Carly just wasn’t good on any of her 3 songs.  Some of the 5th Harmony girls have much better voices than Carly.

  • http://twitter.com/HighTensions Jake Williams

Lol! who is the one vote for the Carly/homwrecker duet?

  • tucker davis

Voters think Tate will win, but not many thought his performances were good…lol.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/IDXVM7NCMXZVHX4M2RFBYOTYDA Robert

MJ, you should add a Do you think that LeeAnn was on something? poll.

  • dante

I don’t see Carly being current. I think she has a great voice but I don’t personally enjoy it. I wouldn’t buy her music.

I think Tate should win. He IS current and has been consistently great every week. I am not a huge country fan but I would buy his music.

I honestly never took Fifth Harmony seriously enough to listen – just fast forwarded through them before – but their rendition of Anything Can Happen was my favorite performance tonight. I would buy their music.

Adam Lambert and Kelly Clarkson are still my favorite singers from reality show competitions.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CHZSJKJQRO5OEV7XUDSORCRJAI anonoymous

sighs. WHY do people say they won’t buy someone’s album before they actually hear it?

    Just ridiculous.

  • Amber Alk

Hallelujah was my favorite of the entire series

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/X3EBGLZMUFDHE2PTJBT266WO74 Andy

nah! I don’t think it is a good performance. Sure, she can hit the high note, but she changed tone/key when doing from low to mid to high notes , which in my opinion, not pleasing to the ear. Tate on the other hand, sing from low to high note without changing key, and Tate can tell a story thru his song, he touches my heart emotionally…can’t say the same for Carly or 5th Harmony.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/X3EBGLZMUFDHE2PTJBT266WO74 Andy

I agree with Dante. Carly has a good voice but she is so young and her singing cannot touch my heart, unlike Tate who came across more sincere and able to tell a story thru his song. The one who can touch your heart win!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/XDQP2Y46M5B3OHOKALDDGDHQCM Leandro

    Tate FTW!

  • Whatiswrongwithus

COME ON 5H! Make it a First Ever reality contest in the US to have a GIRL GROUP WINNER!! LOL

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1638805698 Jason Scott

I actually don’t see Tate as current at all…and I’m a HUGE Country music fan. I grew up listening to all the greats (Johnny Cash, Jimmie Rodgers, Patsy Cline, etc).

Tate would have been current about 15 years or so ago. The market is swamped right now with male singers that do what he does….but much better…plus, the majority of them are hot. We have Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Gary Allan, Dustin Lynch…and the list goes on and on.

Tate simply isn’t doing anything new.

5H, however, could tap into the female group niche. Not there’s a need for it, but they could fill it. They’re far more marketable. They should go in the electro-pop direction, much like their Ellie Goulding selection.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/JC5VIWKY7SZ67OVWR2ISVCWYKY Brian

Tate will likely win, but I doubt he would if they had narrowed it to a final two.  I’m surprised they didn’t.  Fans with a specific strong fan base can easily stay in the lead the more contestants there are, but often will have a tough time winning a majority vote over the last standing survivor of everyone else.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/X3EBGLZMUFDHE2PTJBT266WO74 Andy

Song is good but not Carly’s version. Watch Anthony Neely version here and you will now what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_xLvxePiwg&list=PL27F385DA7AA4F6D7

  • http://kristentheyellowlab.blogspot.com/ ZsusK

Honest to God, I thought that was the most uninspired version of Hallelujah I’ve ever heard.  I love Carly, but tonight was most definitely NOT her night. She was the one who could stop Tate from the win, but I don’t believe she did what she needed to do. Tate has this, but I don’t see him hitting it big in country music. He’s exactly the kind of guy who needed a reality show to get any sort of traction. Unless he has amazing song-writing skills, he’s pretty much just a dad who can sing country karaoke. I’m not sure what they’d do with Carly if she won.  Fifth Harmony could be some sort of Disney group, but we saw how little Disney did with Rachel Crowe, so I guess that’s not an option. I guess, in short, it doesn’t matter who wins. They’re all back to square one with a little more fame on their side.

  • durbesque

Anthony Neely is in another league entirely.  Not exactly a WGWG, but close enough.  Thanks for the link.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dragon0426 Doris Rogers

I don’t understand what all the Carly hate is about.  She is an amazingly talented 13 year old.  Tate is okay, but I agree with those who said nothing stands out that would make him a country star. 5th harmony will get a lot of votes because they are the underdog, and America loves the Underdog…and don’t think for one second Simon isn’t playing up that angle! I love Carly, been trying to get through on the phone lines for over an hour, always busy.  I also doesn’t think it matters how America votes, the winner will be whoever Simon thinks will make him the most money….

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/JSP727NMTNZTGZOULUGOH6G3CI Beth Fischer

Carly and Tate are talented.  But tonight it was all predictable.
All Carly can sing are ballads, and its annoying…
Tate was decent, predictable, yes, but did good job

5H has got my vote… their the least predictable and appeal to the younger demo, unlike Carly(The ballod singer) and Tate (‘Older man next door…)

I hope 5H pulls it off…. I’d be dissapointed if Tate or Carly win. Both would be BORRRRING winners.

  • Stavros

I think Tate is good. However, my problem with him is that there are plenty of singers with similar voices and styles that are 10-15 years younger than him and can be more marketable to a younger and older audience. If Tate is worth $5 million, then there are a bunch of young waiters in Nashville worth $10 million.

  • b_james

Tate’s gonna win, but man, I just loved 5th Harmony’s performances tonight.  Hallelujah was also amazing, but that mess with Leann Rimes (was she drunk?) is gonna ruin it for Carly, combined with her going first.

  • Stavros

Hah, I should’ve read the comments before posting. Our minds are exactly alike! ^^^

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NDYOWBIIPZU6PBRHGOPT2ZZJXQ sweetmm

Based on all 3 performances, I feel that 5H was the best.  However if their strategy of making tonight a country music night, Tate might just get all the votes.

  • elliegrll

Based on potential, 5th Harmony should win.  But, that potential was never realized on the show, where too often their vocals were recorded, or all of the harmonizing was done by the backup singers.

  • http://twitter.com/lucy__luz Luz Mae Salvador

    TATE FTW!

  • http://twitter.com/checo0 Sergio Bernal

5th harmony should win their rendition of Anything Could happened  it is so great!!! I assure you that this is the group that we will be talking about next year… carly is too young and Tate is not so marketable ….

  • matt89

I just don’t get Tate’s appeal, seems like a cliche country singer to me. I hope Carly and 5th don’t split the vote

  • matt89

Wonder why people think Tate will win, yet nobody liked his performances?

  • matt89

Carly may be young, but I feel she’s ready. Why hold her back?

  • TackyZacky

I think 5th Harmony performed the best today. Both their harmony and individual vocals sounded crisp. I think they have peaked at just the right moment. I hope they win.

But I think Tate will win because of the sheer number of country fans who’ll stay up all night to push him through (much like what happened with Scott MCreery).

Carly is the least I like. She is talented but I just can’t comfortably process her in my head. She’s too precocious for my taste.

All three WANT to win badly. But I think Tate obviously NEEDS to win it (given both age and employment factors). And I think he is talented enough – certainly more than Scott. Tate sounds quite good in both low and high registers.

So, I’ll be happy with either a Tate or a 5th Harmony win. :-)

  • Miss Chaos

Im afraid we are going to see 6 little girls crying tomorrow night, and its not gonna be pretty.  Tate will win, the rest are going to have break downs.  I feel sad.

  • http://twitter.com/J_SanchezFans J SanchezFan Kaylo™

Dial Idol has Tate Stevens out in front with a huge huge huge lead. No way he’s not winning this. By the way, Dial Idol has never predicted a final wrong. Out of 8 American Idol Finals and 1 X Factor U.S Final, it has a 100% Prediction Success rate. http://x.dialidol.com/asp/predictions/predictions.asp

  • mtthew

because of people like his number one fan…

    either way #5H5ever

  • http://twitter.com/JonKills Jon Glass

If tate wins, Im done. NO POTENTIAL. This is why this country shouldn’t have these shows. let someone else win.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/PVEFG2TOUIXSROKUSO2O2DOWWE Taylor

Nah, they will be gracious losers. It’s hard for contestants to leave the show, when they don’t make it to the finale. Most contestants don’t want to get cut before the finale. After they make it to that, they are happy with getting that far. They aren’t going to breakdown.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/PVEFG2TOUIXSROKUSO2O2DOWWE Taylor

Tate will win. Did you not see that lady in the santa hat who named her dog after Tate? That told you all you needed to know to predict who will win this thing.

  • blackberryharvest

I almost feel like it doesn’t matter who wins the show, especially after seeing how long they have been keeping Melanie in the hiding.

Having said that, I hope Tate pulls this off.

  • http://twitter.com/BazzleFjsm Bazzle

I still believe that this set of contestants this season are quite talented. Once you see the glory of ‘one performance’ the potential is there forever. I don’t know what’s happened throughout the show. But it is definitely the producers/executives that have put a stopper to that potential being revealed to us throughout most of the live shows. -Sigh-. Tonight was hilariously funny. It was so obvious what was going on and what Simon had done to make sure 5H have a chance at winning.

  • http://twitter.com/BazzleFjsm Bazzle

Simon Cowell that crafty business man pulling out all the stops so his girls win. First off both Carly’s and Tate’s duet hurt them. That song choice really did not help Tate’s family man image (especially with those two women beside him). Does anyone actually believe the order was drawn out of a hat? I highly doubt that. Pimp Spot last week Pimp Spot again this week. I am almost certain that ‘Anything Could Happen’ was sung mostly by either a track or background singers. You even see it at one point with Dinah her lips weren’t even moving to whatever was sung. Let It Be was pretty creative at the end with some mindblowing solos from Lauren, Camila and Dinah props to that though (very R&B). There is no way once again the contestants chose their songs. Hallelujah…. seriously? Carly did great, but of course this song has been done to absolute death. Putting Feeling Good at the very beginning was a good plan by Simon that plus the arrangement… overall … Simon may have just taken down Carly. He can only hope that he has also taken down Tate.

  • http://twitter.com/BazzleFjsm Bazzle

Fifth Harmony reprising their two very best performances of the season with so much backing track… and to go back to absolutely no harmony and background singing on Let It Be…. was just lazy. No offence to the girls though. But it’s almost as if they’re cheating. Lol at the votes for Anything Could Happen… they hardly even sang that.

  • WestiesRule

My take: After watching these shows since their current inception (AI 1), it doesn’t matter much where in the top 10 marketable talent lies. Once they showcase what they have to offer eager talent agents/scouts swoop in. We have seen it time and again. Simon will sign those girls and put them through his own boot camp ala 1 Direction. I still can’t believe it’s like Melanie Amaro never existed. Reminds me of what happened to Matt Cardle of the UK version. Honestly, I don’t care who wins.

  • Chris

They had a lot of trouble getting it together week after week but by last night, it was polished and ready.  I wasn’t sold on the manufactured girl band idea and darn sure didn’t expect them to be in the finale, but they had the best performances of the night.

My guess, Simon will support them no matter what.  I expect to see them on tour with One Direction, etc… so congrats to them for pulling it together.

  • Chris

“But it’s almost as if they’re cheating.”

That is the one thing that bothered me – repeating the same songs really doesn’t show range.  I can’t recall too many Idol contestants doing the same tune repeatedly in a voting cycle.  Nor DWTS in terms of routines.  Yes, 5H can sing “Anything Can Happen” or a contestant can do the cha-cha, but what about everything else?

I guess Simon will cross the diversity bridge when he gets there.

  • Kitwana

I don’t agree with the talk about such and such a contestant being “marketable” or not “marketable”. In most cases, if the label is willing to pay (and pay and pay and pay) and if the artist is willing to follow along and do whatever it takes to be famous, the artist can be made “marketable”. If you strip away all the marketing, publicity stunts and other hype of Justin Bieber, what do you really have?

  • elliegrll

I almost feel like it doesn’t matter who wins the show, especially after seeing how long they have been keeping Melanie in the hiding.

I don’t think it matters either.  I don’t think that any of these people were ever put into a position where they could build up a X Factor based fanbase that will stick with them past the show.  Unfortunately, not having that initial cushion of fans means that Sony, Simon or even radio are going to have any use for these people beyond this week.

Slezak said that Tate needed to change things up so that he could win, but I think that they all needed to change things up, so that they could interest viewers into buying their music.

  • milwlovesadam

It’s a 50/50 coin toss between Carly and Tate. With completely different demographics. Carly could be the next Miley. She is so adorable it’s not even funny. Her career looks great no matter if she wins or not. Tate has country super-star written all over him.

I won’t be seeking either of them out for CD’s. Just not a country fan, and generally don’t follow tweens. Sorry.

Carly could be a female Bieber if they play her cards right.

  • http://twitter.com/Loretta31 Loretta

Why do you think it is that neither the Voice or Xfactor produce the fanbases for contestants?  I have noticed this as well.  Idol watchers are more apt to stick with their fav and buy their music, attend the Idol Concert and post concerts.  This is not true for the Voice or XFactor US.

I have wondered why this is?  Ideas?

  • http://twitter.com/eilonwya10 Eilonwy

By the way, Dial Idol has never predicted a final wrong. Out of 8 American Idol Finals and 1 X Factor U.S Final, it has a 100% Prediction Success rate.

Yup, for S11 Idol, Dial Idol predicted that P2 would finish either #1 or #2 and that Jessica Sanchez would finish #1 or #2. Man, it’s amazing they got that right!

If you look at the Geopredictions page, figuring ~200 votes/line/hour, Dial Idol’s entire sample is maybe 25 people at the outside. I’m too bleary this morning to calculate a better number, but whether the sample is 12 or 25 or even 30, it’s still way too small to be statistically valid.

These days, Dial Idol is no more credible than “ask the Magic 8 ball.” It may get the result right this time — but on a 3-act final in which one contender has no realistic chance, so could a coin toss.

  • http://twitter.com/LexieONeill Lexie O’Neill

I think it’s the setup of the shows.  Idol sets it up so you get to know the contestants in so many different ways…from day one, we knew where Scotty (my fave, so I know the most about him, you could insert your fave) was from, his hobbies, his friends, his parents talked, his coach talked…

I found it almost strange the comparison of last night’s hometown support vs. an actual hometown extravaganza that’s done by Idol Top 3.

Also, we see the Idols during the show in different settings.  I’m actually perplexed how people can watch The Voice week after week, same stage with the yes, charming, four judges in those same chairs, week after week.

I came into Idol late, so it might not have been there all along, but there’s also so much extra stuff that goes along…the Idol forums on the Idol page plus elsewhere…

There’s a whole lot to get you invested.

Since I could care less about X-Factor and have never watched it I can say in all honesty that if I didn’t come to this site, occasionally now, that I wouldn’t have a clue that it was even on my TV and who any of the performers are.  After being wrapped up in Idol for years…now that I have taken a step back…I am very aware that only a handful of peeps really care about these shows or the “winners”.  Guess I’ve moved outside of the bubble…and it feels pretty good.

  • mmb

I still think Tate will win, although I think he has zero star quality.  I’m sticking with my opinion that talented as she is (and she is incredibly talented), Carly is just too young at the moment to make an impact anywhere other than Disney or Nick — and I hope she gets some opportunities like that and then comes out swinging in her late teens (kinda like Demi’s career). The most intriguing question is whether Simon will dump Emblem 3 for 5th Harmony and make them his post season pets.  I don’t think America needs an “american 1D”….1D is everywhere..and the wanted is still around even tho their (IMO) excellent recent single didn’t do much…the market usually can’t bear more than 2 big boy bands at a time.  But Simon is right that there is a gap in the market for a girl group.  If I was a 8-12 year old girl I’d be loving 5th H …they’re pretty, have great hair, seem to all be super BFFs, lol.  I think he might have better luck with them than with Emblem 3.

  • fuzzywuzzy

    Congratulations! lol

  • mjsbigblog

    Reminder:

If you didn’t watch the show, or vote in the poll, this is not the post for you.  Let’s keep the conversation on topic.

  • Miss Chaos

Did you see the young girls on last years XF?  They certainly were not gracious losers, they were having complete melt downs.  Carly will have one, FH will cry a lot!:(

  • http://twitter.com/JonKills Jon Glass

i see it as completely fair that 5H sang Anything Could Happen again, it was fav performance of the season. Plus they used a different arrangement and used a different verse.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/X3EBGLZMUFDHE2PTJBT266WO74 Andy

If he win, that’s becasue America voted for him. If viewers are not allowed to vote, then you say the judges are biased toward one singer over the others… such double-edge sword…

  • Klaine

Carly is a talent no doubt.. But is there a market with her age group for old school ballads and no up tempo fun pop songs

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000030275537 Patricia Ferfecki

I felt that Carly was shafted. I believe the girl being only 13 has amazing talent. Who ever allowed LeAnn Rimes on that stage should be fired. She was an embarrassment and destroyed that duet. I dont know what she was on but she had to hang onto Carly to actually stand up. Its a shame If this is Simons way of taking the spotlight away from Carly then I’m done watching.. Tate probably will win because of his sob story’s, and 5th Harmony, well they cant be taken seriously. This show is suppose to be on talent.. not sob stories , Carly has always acted like a professional and way mature beyond her years. She has been consistent and because of one bad duet performance because of Rimes she might loose. I hope she does win because she in my eyes is the true X-Factor and yes I would buy her  CD’s

  • Klaine

If Carly losses or even comes in third, the leanne duet is to blame. She didn’t sound good at all & I wonder if any backlash. I wish they’d be doing duets with major current stars. Demi, LeAnn, LittleBigDown were huge letdowns. HUGE!
I wish they’d release the final votes afterward but they won’t

And notice how XF had never released how many votes they get in. Wonder if Mario will say this is there highest total ever.. And if only 1-2% separate the top 2…I think the teens may have voted crazy for 5th after the push by demi + simon

I believe that Carly was shafted tonight by LeAnn Rimes. If this is Simons way of taking her down because he knows she has the X_Factor then I’m done. Dont tell me that the stage crew and Simon didnt know how LeAnn was. Whoever made the decision to have her go on SHOULD BE FIRED. She was an embarrassment and had to be on something. If this duet cost Carly the title then I’m done. I’m sure Simon knew that Rimes wasnt right and yet allowed her to destroy Carly’s chances. Its a shame . Tate is good and yes might win not because hes can sing which by the way he sounds alot like Garth Brooks, but because of his sob stories. 5th Harmony, Simons group.. lol well You have to be kidding  who would ever take them seriously. Simon has always known that Carly has the X_Factor . She has been consistent, very professional and handle every performance amazingly. She is amazingly talented and SHOULD be the winner. Just take a look at Britney’s face during the duet, even she couldn’t believe what was happening.Oh well its up to the voter’s but no matter what Carly will be the winner because she truely represents the X-Factor

Really? Correctly predicting 9 out of 9 Finals doesn’t give Dial Idol enough credibility. Yes they do allow for margins, and their sample may or may not be small(I think you’re reading the geopredictions wrong), but either way they have a 100% success rate when it comes to getting the order right.  You can’t discredit that level of success no matter which way you try to spin it.

  • Da 1 N Only

I’m sorry but I’m not going to credit dial idol for predicting both finalists to finish 1st or 2nd when they’re only 2 contestants left. So no, they are not 100%.
Now take a look at the geopredictions & scroll over the states & notice the raw numbers, a couple examples:

Florida: 456 for Tate; 0 for everybody else (probably one voter)
Texas: 498 for Carly; 0 for everybody else (probably one voter)

Dial Idol Predictions was good back in the day but now are nothing more than guesses less accurate than the average internet poll
