William Balfour Arrested in the Deaths of Jennifer Hudson’s Mother, Brother and Nephew

Finally. From the Associated Press.

CHICAGO – Police arrested the estranged brother-in-law of Jennifer Hudson on Monday in the deaths of the entertainer’s mother, brother and young nephew, taking him from a prison where he had been held on a suspected parole violation.

William Balfour was arrested at Stateville Correctional Center and released to detectives as he awaited formal charges in the shooting deaths of the singer and Oscar-winning actress’ relatives, said Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond.

Hopefully the Chicago police have been spending the past month building a sturdy case against Balfour.

    I agree, mj. Hopefully the delay was caused by closing all the possible loopholes and constructing an airtight case.

    Didn’t they said he didn’t commit this crime alone? I hope if he didn’t they catch the accomplice and no one gets leniency for ratting on the other….

    Nothing can ease the horror of this story, but good that they arrested him. May Jennifer and Julia breathe a tad easier tonight.

    Knowing there was great pressure to arrest this man, and knowing how important this bit of closure is to Jennifer and Julia, I’m happy to see this arrest after (hopefully) all the I’s have been dotted and the T’s crossed.
