When Glee Met Star Wars (Chewbacca Set Visit! Cast Photos!)

UPDATE:  Director Matt Morrison told Jimmy Kimmel when he appeared on the show  recently that Glee does an homage to the Star Wars Christmas special that aired in the late 70s.  George Lucas sent over the real Chewbacca to appear! (There will also be nods to the circa 60s Judy Garland Christmas special)

The Glee gang is currently shooting their BIG holiday episode titled “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” that’s set to air on December 13.   Matthew Morrison who plays choir teacher, Will Shuester is making his Glee debut as director!

Today, the kids were tweeting excitedly about a “surprise guest” on set.

Kevin McHale tweeted, “Currently peeing myself with geeky excitement over this scene!! Ahhh!” and “So far this has been the best day ever”

There was more from Glee Project winner, Damian McGinty, “Just had a serious fan boy moment this morning with @chordoverstreet …can’t believe who i just met!! @druidDUDE is in heaven!!”

Then, the cast revealed the big (and I mean BIG) secret guest, as they began tweeting photos of themselves with beloved Star Wars character, Chewbacca.

I have no idea what’s going on here, but it sure looks like fun.
