Looking at this morning’s MB country chart:

When this week’s 2 recurrents (Dierks Bentley and Thomas Rhett) are removed this afternoon Lauren’s 18 Inches is actually going to make t40 this week, in only its 4th week (compared to Georgia Peaches which took 6 weeks to make MB t40). That means countdown spins next weekend. The bad news is that with Taylor Swift expected to debut a new single this week, Florida-Georgia Line probably only a day away from passing, and no MB recurrents ahead of Lauren next week, 18 Inches will almost definitely be bumped right back out of the t40. It’s annoying but I believe it’ll get back into the t40 again in a few weeks. I do like the way it’s gained this week, especially its MB AI gains. If 18 Inches can have a good AI translation from MB to BB this week it should be able to make a good sized jump at BB up to #44.

CaseyJ’s held off Eric Church yet again this week though Eric’s Creepin is ahead of COAS in spins and AIs. Whether or not the afternoon update reverses their positions, COAS is going to hold strong in the MB t30 so its countdown spins are not at risk. COAS should move up 2 spots to #28 (#29 at worst if Creepin passes in the afternoon update). Next week COAS will get passed by Creepin and Taylor’s single will pass so unless it can pass Justin Moore’s single it’ll get bumped down to #30. But, at least its t30 spot will be safe. Luke Bryan is approaching but I think countdown spins will keep COAS safe for a week. COAS has had strong AI updates all week at MB (+2 million for the week), I’m very interested to see how much of that translates to Billboard. If a lot of it translates than CaseyJ could make a 5 spot jump up to #30 Billboard. I think COAS is very likely to at least make a 3 spot jump to #32 BB.

Carrie’s BA will move up to #18 MB this afternoon. At Billboard my guess is BA will pass Miranda’s Fastest Girl In Town and Big & Rich’s That’s Why I Pray and move up to #17. But, it’s possible Big & Rich will temporarily hold off BA.

Next week at MB country will be tough because of no recurrents ahead of the Idol songs. But, the week after that we’ll see Kenny Chesney and possibly Thompson Square, maybe also Chris Young (hopefully not because Neon is great) go recurrent at MB.

Thanks for the update Windmills.  I see Jana spins dropped somewhat do you think they are going for T5 or all the way seems like the biggger guns are lining up?I personnally think it should be done….

Hope Glorina snneks in for a turn at #1

Has there ever been a better hook then  Cruise’s “Baby your a song you make me want to roll my windows down”LOL

It feels like 18 Inches is doing so much better so far the GP in terms of continual increase in spins and AI. GP was always up and down. Fingers crossed for her. Hoping to get some vids from Boots and Hearts for Lauren and Carrie, interested in seeing how Lauren sounds aftern vocal rest.

Done with random thoughts and questions.

I think neon will fall enough this week and is done and will fall below coas. Thompso square is also don we will see if it falls enough to lt coas go around this week.

COAS may stay ahead of eric this week because of countdown spins. Almost 1.0 of caseys ai is due to dial global mainstream which isnt on the billboard panel. But I still think coas will make a good jump at billboard.

I am still in shock this sog is moving so fast. With all the old and struggling songs and recurrents from number one coas could make top 20 in another 4 weeks or so. It will go around justin moore and gregg bates soon also. Bottom line is casey is keeping up with the big boys which is awesome

I dont think Thomas rhett is going recurrent this week. Its only his second week without a bullett on air check

I think it is only Dierks Bentley going recurrent.

I know they sometimes change the numbers by 5 – 10 spins, but wouldn’t they just have one cut off time for the published chart? IOW all of the spins until 12 o’clock Saturday night. I could rather see the new extra spins counting towards tomorrow’s chart. I dont know perhaps I am wrong but it just wouldn’t be logical in my opinion, to have more then one cut off time.

Yep, sorry for my bad on recurrents and thank you and aidancash1 for the correction. I got confused because Thomas Rhett is already recurrent on Billboard after 2 down weeks.

So, 18 Inches won’t make MB t40 in its 4th week, more likely its 6th week. Sorry for the false hope all around. On the bright side no havoc with t40 spins after Taylor swoops in next week.

I honestly don’t know about the cutoff time but I don’t think the afternoon update is because there’s a different cutoff time. I think the afternoon update makes minor adjustments after MB reviews the day’s detections, which is why there’s only rarely a swing, and it’s rarely more than 10 points. I feel like I’m posting about CaseyJ possibly being in a reversal situation practically every week, but things are really tightly bunched up in his part of the chart. He’s come out on top every week though.

I’m still not a COAS fan but very intrigued by how it’s been doing. The real strong part of the chart is once you hit the t23/t22 of MB/BB. COAS has moved very well through a weak chart but the fact of the matter is, COAS didn’t get stuck in a weak part of the chart like so many other songs have. That says a lot.

TBH, I’m surprised Why Ya Wanna didn’t freefall this week. I really thought the label would let it go after it made t10 so the fact that it is still bulleted may be a sign the label thinks it could go t5. You’ve got Love & Theft which will be on its way down next week, Kenny’s on his way down, and The Band Perry is struggling ahead of Jana. On the other hand Keith will probably repass and Hunter is on fire, getting ready to pass in the next couple weeks. I don’t really see a point to keep Why Ya Wanna going but maybe the label wants a gold single or something.

Gloriana is probably going hang around and get #1 this week before freefalling.

I’m reserving judgment on 18 Inches’s run (not that you’re jumping to conclusions in any way). It’s doing fine so far but like I said before, it’s in a weak part of the chart. I like its gains this week and if it can keep that up and not get stuck outside the t40 and not get stuck in that weak part of the chart, then it’ll continue to be fine. I want to see those adds keep coming in.

Some of caseyJ chart run was because of a weak chart but he is at 7.5 million ai. Its not like he only has a million ai. And the fact he held off the big boys and kip moore didnt go around and ended  up not making top 30 this week is so impressive for coas. There is also a lot of songs going to start falling and with recurrent he should move up alot again in the next few weeks. He also should go around justin moore and gregg bates which will put him close to t20 here within a month.

Do we know for sure ts got a clear channel deal. I dont think her single goes to radio until tuesday and I thought those always start on monday.

That’s only MB. Like I always say I rely on BB a little more – I think it’s a “purer” chart (not perfect though). At BB COAS is doing well but not as well as it is on MB: Kip Moore and Randy Houser are ahead of CaseyJ and COAS ‘only’ had 3.7 million AIs as of last week at BB. That may change this week though. COAS has a solid chance of moving ahead of Beer Money and How Country Feels depending on how much of his MB AI gain translated to BB. I’m interested to see what Billboard Country Update says.

But, I’ve also been consistent saying that COAS has moved very quickly and it’s been very consistent in the way it’s moved up. So consistently quick maybe it’s not too soon to dream about what it could do after it makes t20 (because it will).

Taylor would debut huge whether or not she had the CC deal but the fact that she’s playing the Iheartradio festival and her label’s never turned down a huge promo deal for her is a good indication that she’ll get hourly plays on country and pop. The CC deals can happen any day of the week. Tim’s was on a Tuesday, and Toby’s and Big & Rich’s were not on a Monday.

Dial idol mainstream and hot country are the difference on billboard and mediabase for coas. I dont know about billboard being  purer chart thats just  matter of opinion. All the cointdown shows go by mediabase and if they didnt make countdowns they wouldnt go up on billboard. Its just the diference in panels and I actually think mb point system makes more sense to me.

It would make more sense if they are doing corrections, or atleast it would make more sense to me. Just out of curiosity are there any examples of people actually switching places because of this? I realize that Casey has been in a tight spot they are a group of four songs very close together. I think the main thing for him right now is just to stay inside the top 30.
