windmills: I’m not sure if Lauren’s 18 Inches will make the MB chart with recurrents removed today but if not I think there’s a good chance of it making the MB chart next week.

Does Lauren’s new single look to be moving faster than Georgia Peaches? I’m wondering if radio PD’s are actually playing it faster since they seemed to like this song.

Glad to hear that Casey A’s song is being played on the radio. It is a great song.

David Archuleta numbers update from the Philippines for his current single, “I’ll Never Go”

Philippine Music Chart OPM Weekly Top 20 #6, Week of July 19-25

Pinoy MYX Countdown (MV) #5, Week of July 28-Aug 3
MYX Hit Chart (MV) #7, Week of July 29-Aug 4

From info we’ve seen on twitter from the album producer, it sounds like there will definitely be a 3rd single and video released off of Forevermore. Not sure if they have a specific release date in mind or if they’re waiting to see how long I’ll Never Go remains strong on the charts.

Its also possible that the release date for David’s US album will have an effect on when the new single is released. While the album will only officially be released in the US, both Astroplus and Odyssey Music (two of the largest music retailers in the Philippines) have already announced that they will be selling it.

“Home” has zoomed up the iTunes chart after being used on NBC’s Olympics coverage tonight. Currently sitting at #14

I saw Home at #12 on my iPhone. Looks like it’s the song for the US Women’s Gymnastics team so perhaps they’ll be playing it a few more days. Great bit if promo for Phillip, I wondered what they had in mind next plus the video.

I’d like to get a couple weeks more of data on that to give a real answer but here’s some thoughts. I just went back through GP’s 1st few weeks. 18 Inches had more than twice as many 1st week adds but comparable (actually slightly lower) 1st week airplay according to Billboard. Tuesday we’ll know how its 2nd week compared. But also, there’s a lot more block activity at country radio now than there was 9 months ago, and the bottom of the chart is a lot weaker now than 9 months ago because of longer playlists and the fact that a lot of stations now give bigger spins to their top songs.  Actually, the bottom of the chart (below t40) was pretty weak in late October/early November too but it wasn’t  systemically weak like it is now, where it’s actually harder to build momentum before making t40 as a non-established act. There’s also the Clear Channel deals that mess things up especially bad for songs out of the t40, those weren’t there 9 months ago.

Sorry for the non-answer, it’s just hard without a lot of data on 18 Inches right now. I think the 2nd week of adds for 18 Inches showed the 1st week was a frontload. But, we’ll see if 18 Inches can keep picking up adds and spins. I’ve also still got my eye on Jana Kramer’s single and feel like once that finally makes t10 and peaks, maybe 18 Inches can start picking up some of its play (I know Jana’s going to have a new single to soak up a lot of that play, but it’s the 3/4 time signature thing that 18 Inches shares with Why Ya Wanna that I keep on harping on).

It’s now up to #11. This could do the trick and help push Home up to the top of the HAC charts.
