Wednesday Ratings: Survivor and Snoopy Kick X Factor’s Arse

Survivor Philippines and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving kicked X Factor’s arse. And frigging Guys With Kids beat it the second half hour. Sads. I would imagine Simon Cowell is not grateful.

The 8:30 hour doesn’t seem right to me. FOX was the only one with a drastic change… the show lost half its audience, but gained them back and then some at 9:00?

  • Franco Carlo Buendia

This is bad for XFACTOR. VERY BAD.  On the other hand, I feel happy for Survivor Philippines!  This season is one of the best and one of my personal favorites because I’m Filipino!

  • Whatiswrongwithus

HAHA! Take THAT Simon and Khloe Phoney!!!!!!!!!!!

  • F

goes to prove that simon was never the golden boy on american idol that he thought he was and that his ideas are not really what america seems to want. it would be nice to see him go down in flames.

  • Kesia Monteith

Yeah that does look fishy. Only explanation is the first hour seemed so bad to people, they just decided to take off for the half hour and finish watching Snoopy. Once that and Survivour was finished, maybe viewers thought they could tune back to see if X-Factor improved. I do think the 9:00 hour was a bit better, but not a whole lot.

  • Philip Dudley

The X-Factor US is a train wreck. Terrible direction. Awful choreography. Non existent stage management. Khloe KarTrashian is pathetic. But the contestants are pretty good this year even with some terrible song choices by producers. (you don’t think the judges really pick the songs do you?)

  • Klaine

Simon only has himself to blame.  The show sucks.. Plain and simple …I was so looking forward to XF coming to the US but after watching it theres no denying that it is just much worse than Idol & The Voice.  Wont go into the reasons since Ive mentioned it before but it really is looking like a train wreck amateur hour next to the others.  Plus the HUT levels have to be lower during Thanksgiving as so many people are traveling and with families where theyre not going to get up and turn on the XF.  Plus the judges comments (yes, Brit theyre all amazing and maybe you can come up with 2 sentences and something original) have not only been boring but they make me feel like my hearing is off as they keep complimenting as great and next stars these folks who sound so off key and pitchy to say the least.  If Brit comes back next year, Ill have lost all respect for Simon – shes been awful and has not added a thing to the show.  And Id love to see Khloes screen test that got Simon to hire her.  Even having all the Kardashians in the audience does not help

  • Klaine

I agree plus America is tired of Simon – Hes yesterdays news and no longer original..Plus he doesnt seem like the most objective as hes definitly pushing for Emblem 3 – plus all the manipulation and 2 double eliminations in a row just all seems to be turning people off even more. .Will be intersting to see if Idols new judges lead to increased ratings for them (besides the first episode) or if it will continue to slide although still being #1.  The days of 20 million viewers are long gone

  • girlygirltoo

None of these shows’ ratings are very good. But I wonder if FOX regrets having already having renewed XF for a 3rd season. Wouldn’t be surprised if the network is losing serious $ on it.

  • Klaine

Stupid me had given up Survivor for XF and Idol…Next season I may have to go back – I hear this season has been great

  • hcpoirot

Even without Modern Family aired this week, x factor tumbling hard. Maybe its just Thanksgiving. But maybe they need to at least try to be fair to all contestants. Give them at least songs that suited them even if they are cannon fodder.

With few tweaks, The Voice 3 is better than season 1 and 2. Sadly it cannot be said for X factor. Season 2 was worse than season 1. The new judges and hosts cannot help the show.

And looks like the judges/mentor didnot do their job seriously despite get a lofty pay.

Maybe its better if the judges just be judges and not mentoring the singers. Even Christina being better mentor then all the 4 judges in X Factor combine together.

  • Jordana33

A re-run featuring a beagle got more viewers than X Factor? Ouch.

  • fantoo1

Can’t imagine how bad tonight will be.

  • Claude Dee

Survivor PH is one of my favorites not because I am Filipino but because it is a great season! They did an awesome job with the casting! And yes, the location is tots beautiful.

  • Beth Bowers

Can’t you just see Simon saying, with his characteristic smirk BEFORE the Wed show – “If we can’t beat a cartoon beagle…”

OH, how the mighty have fallen.

  • hillstreetblooz

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA – Charlie Brown put the smackdown on XFactor and Simon – HAHAHAHAH, I luvs it :)

  • Kitwana

One problem X-Factor is dealing with is that the TV audience is far more sophisticated when it comes to reality show competitions.  Fans have really seen it all, and producers can’t seem to come up with anything new.  The BS that used to work simply does not work anymore. So, the sob stories that used to be so effective on Idol have now become the source of ridicule.  Most viewers could probably see through the transparent attempt to make Emblem 3 happen from the very beginning.  The mocking of the traditional boy-bander in the introduction of Emblem 3 was clearly the producers’ attempt to prove that Emblem 3 is different and cooler than the traditional boyband.  We saw right through you Simon.  In fact, your attempt to make Emblem 3 appear different proved that they are exactly the same as any other boyband – they are 100% manufactured from the very beginning.

X-Factor needs a massive remake if it wants to see a ratings jump.  Dumping Simon and replacing him with Howard Stern might be the kind of big change that shakes things enough to make a real difference. America’s Got Talent saw a ratings drop but nothing like the collapse that X-Factor is experiencing today.  I would tune in just to watch Howard’s mocking of Britney and Demi.

    Go Snoopy!

Ratings were horrible for every show last night.  I think that the only thing that it says about the X Factor is that just like every other show on the air it is not “Must See TV”.  People aren’t planning their lives around it, like they have with some seasons of American Idol.  I think in the case of both AI and The Voice that people feel like they can miss an episode, and not really care, or miss out on anything important.
