American Idol didn’t rise in the absence of the Olympics, and was beat in the demo in the 9 pm hour by Modern Family, and tied with Survivor at 9:30. The Survivor premiere was up a bit vs last spring premiere.

On FOX American Idol matched last week’s 2.6 adults 18-49 rating. On CBS, the season premiere of Survivor earned a 2.5, up a tenth from last spring’s premiere, which earned a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating. Nashville earned a 1.2, down a tenth from its last original’s 1.3 adults 18-49 rating.
