Watch Randy Jackson play coy on The View this morning. When Barbara Walters asked him if he’ll be returning to American Idol and in what capacity, he immediately began talking about how excited he was that Mariah Carey was joining the panel.

When Babs pressed him, he said, “Let’s see what happens. It hasn’t all been worked out yet.” According to reports, he pretty much sang the same tune on The Today show this morning. The Dawg told CNN “Just don’t believe everything you hear.” Whatever that means.

I suspect the rumors are true–that Randy will not be a judge on American Idol this season, but will probably work on the show in some different capacity.

    If Randy is willing to change his approach with the contestants, then I’d be more than willing to accept the “fact” that he is a returning judge.  He has so much expereince and knows music – so use that knowledge in giving fair and honest critiques.
