The Vote for the Worst kids are holding their second annual charity auction this year to benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

They’ve got a bunch of nifty Idol-related items to bid on, and 100% of the proceeds after eBay fees go to the charity. They’re hoping to raise over $2000 this year.

Check out the cool items:

If you don’t want to bid, you can help Dave and the gang meet their goal by donating right here.

Good for them. It’s certainly a worthy cause. In fact, we just heard from David, at the Race for Hope in DC, that his brother Adam died last night.

    Vote for the Worst…

It’s a site where (with the full anonymity offered by this fantastic medium) people get to be rude, crude, and ignorant to their heart’s content without anyone taking offense because you know what’s coming if you visit the site. For many it’s a good release since, if they are like me, there are not a lot of social situations where you can just vent and ridicule without taking grief for your indiscretions. Not everyone’s cuppa…but it can be funny in a delightfully perverse way.

I think these guys are probably really wonderful people with a very twisted and demented sense of humour. Good luck to them on their fund raising efforts.

And if any of them read this they will blast me with all kinds of snark for writing this.

I agree the VFTW forum is a great place for people get to be as obnoxious as they want, and it’s very often hilarious. I think this charity auction is great and I hope people support it.

But the whole idea of trying to screw with the results of a show like AI by voting for the “worst” is something I really hate, and for that reason I don’t like the whole idea behind VFTW.

If they could just keep their funny, snarky website, without the actual voting-for-the-worst stuff, I would be cool with them.

    Cool Stuff!

LOL MJ, just noticed you called Adam’s painting (panting)., but that’s ok, you probably really meant people panting after him. LOL

  • weelassie

I want the Adam panting. lol.

Sorry, my donations go elsewhere. I wouldn’t give a penny in VFTW’s name.

I sorta agree about not wanting to support VTFW especially if they’ve dissed one of your favorites. I understand how that would leave a sour taste in your mouth. It does mine. I will say that by doing this, they aren’t the worst thing ever. Yeah, they serve their purpose. I guess they serve a purpose for those who don’t favor frontrunners. I’ve actually only truly favored one contestant ever…and it was a contestant who won, so I’ve found no use for VTFW but I can certainly understand their place. I just don’t know that they can be taken all that seriously in the grand scheme of things…

They don’t take themselves, or the show all that seriously in the grand scheme of things.

Which is as it should be, in my opinion.

I don’t care for VFTW since they make personal attacks against people. BUT, i do think this is a good cause and I hope they make their monetary goal.

Exactly but I think they run afoul of people simply because they DON’T take the show or contestants terribly seriously whereas it is life and death to some fan groups. Some of the funniest, wittiest, and most down to earth people I’ve interacted with online are at VFTW.

I didn’t bid on anything but will be contributing a donation. Way to go, Dave!

LOL. It’s so admirable that these guys could take one day out of their hectic schedule of bashing others to be nice. They deserve a pat on the back.

    Ditto this!
