The Voice 7 Final Polls!
The Voice Live Blog: The Finals

For the first time this season, I’m at a complete loss!  Matt McAndrew has the #1 single on iTunes and has nary a misstep all season. I’d be compelled to hand him the crown. And yet…Craig Wayne Boyd represents a popular genre and sings music that’s more accessible to a cross section of fans. Also, he’s easy on the eyes. Without the multiplier in play, I think it’s tricky to rely on iTunes as a predictor. Remember when Christina Grimmie, who sold a ton of singles, came in 3rd last season?

iTunes Ranking – As of 1:00 pm ET

One of the indicators of Craig’s popularity is his ability to chart with even a weak song like “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face.” I have it at #3 here, but it hit as high as #2. This dude is popular.  Chris managed to get two songs in the Top 10, but I’m nearly certain the coach duets didn’t count as votes. Damien’s original song squeaked into the Top 10 with the rest. He was clearly outpaced on the iTunes charts by the competition, but that could be misleading. iTunes sales don’t always correlate to phone and app votes. I still think he’s got a shot at 3rd place. I am really surprised that “A Song For You” didn’t chart higher. Once again, performing first really puts a contestant at a disadvantage.  I expected Matt’s “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” as the last performance of the night, to chart higher. Messing with the classics is always a risk.

1. Matt McAndrew – Wasted Love (single)
3. Craig Wayne Boyd – My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face (single)
6. Chris Jamison – Velvet (single)
9. Chris Jamison & Adam Levine – Lost Without U
10. Damien – Soldier (single)
12. Matt McAndrew and Adam Levine – Lost Stars
14. Chris Jamison – Cry Me River
15. Craig Wayne Boyd – In Pictures
17. Matt McAndrew – Somewhere Over the Rainbow
26. Craig Wayne Boyd & Blake Shelton – Boots On
33. Damien & Adam Levine – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me
54. Damien – A Song For You

Who Will Win the Voice?

Matt wins the poll in a landslide!

  1. Matt McAndrew 50.62%
  2. Craig Wayne Boyd 28.77%
  3. Chris Jamison 18.61%
  4. Damien 1.99%

Favorite Finalist

The favorite finalist vote results is much tighter. Many of you love Chris, but feel he won’t come in higher than 3rd. That’s where I’m at on the subject.

  1. Matt McAndrew 36.76%
  2. Chris Jamison 33.75%
  3. Craig Wayne Boyd 24.2%
  4. Damien 5%

The Voice 7 Final – Favorite Single

I thought Craig was handed the worst single of the four. Let’s see….Blake Shelton reject vs Max Martin joint. Hm. I actually like “Soldier” and works to showcase Damien’s potential to be a contemporary artist.

  1. Matt McAndrew – Wasted Love 54.94%
  2. Chris Jamison – Velvet 21.64%
  3. Craig Wayne Boyd – My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face 15.87%
  4. Damien – Soldier 7.55%

Prediction: My gut is telling me that Craig Wayne Boyd is going to take this. Matt McAndrew comes in second. Damien comes in 3rd and Chris Jamison 4th. I hope I am wrong. Would love for Matt to take it all.
