The Voice 7 Finale Power List!

The Voice - Season 7

Who was surprised when Damian earned the highest votes to nab the 4th finalist spot on The Voice 7 finale? Taylor John Williams had the highest ranking on iTunes, but there was NO multiplier in play last week, allowing iTunes sales to easily be overtaken by dial in and internet votes.

Arguably, both Taylor and Damien sang poorly for the wild card. But I don’t think it mattered. Last out first in, is pretty much how I thought the wildcard would go down. It was a massive waste of time dragging all the eliminated contestants to sing one more time, because none of them stood a chance. The producers tried with DaNica Shirey, giving her the pimp spot. But we were destined for an all male finale, and that was that.

Damien is the spoiler in this top 4. Is it possible that, without the Top 10 iTunes multiplier, he could have snuck into the Top 3 last week? Matt McAndrew and Craig Wayne Boyd, appear to be the front runners here, with Chris Jamison as the Dark Horse. But don’t count out Damien

Remember: This cycle, there will be NO iTunes multiplier in play. That means one iTunes download will equal one vote, no matter how high a song charts. In years past, not only was the multiplier in play, but past downloads were added into the vote totals! Straight up votes will determine the winner this season.

Here are my final rankings of the season!

4. Damien – I’m putting him here, but only because he was eliminated last week. If he pulls out another big emotional ballad for the finale? He could at least finish 3rd.

3. Chris Jamison – He’s on a hot streak. But I’m not convinced it will be enough to topple the front runners. At this point, I think Damien and Chris are battling for 3rd place.

2. Matt McAndrew – This spot is subject to change, depending on Monday night’s performances. Matt and his coach Adam rarely misstep when it comes to choosing songs, however. Matt just needs to keep doing what he is doing.

1. Craig Wayne Boyd – Craig, on the other hand, has performed some clunkers. If he’s smart, he’ll stick to old school country and weepy dramatic ballads. If he chooses the right songs, he’ll win this thing.

What say you? How do you think The Voice 7 Top 4 stack up? The finale airs tonight, December 15 at 8/7c and continues tomorrow December 16 at 9/8c.
