The Voice 6 Premiere – Day 2- Live Blog (PLUS POLL)

Hey guys! I’m Sarah, and I’ll be your server this evening…oh wait!!! I’ll be live blogging tonight’s episode of The Voice for you guys! Last night brought some amazing talent, and I’m sure you’re all excited to see if anyone can top the auditions we’ve already seen.

The show starts, and we’re immediately reminded for the thousandth time that Shakira and Usher are “back” and “fresh”! So far, Usher has three people on his team, Shakira has two, Blake has one, and Adam has two! We’re shown some adorable banter between the judges…their chemistry is undeniable!

Delvin Choice – 24 – A Song For You by Donny Hathaway

Delvin, a barista at Starbucks, auditioned last year, and none of the judges turned around for him. He’s back, and he’s determined. Delvin has an awesome, bluesy voice. Within seconds of starting, Shakira, Blake, and Adam turn around. At the last second, Usher presses his button! Not sure if Delvin has the most radio-friendly or current voice, but I definitely think he stands a chance in the competition. Adam believes that Delvin can win. Shakira feels the need to take an oath that she’ll take Delvin to the top. The judges continue to banter. What else is new?! I think he’d do great on Team Usher.

Delvin chooses Team Adam.

Madilyn Paige – 16 – Titanium by David Guetta

Madilyn loves producing videos and singing with her sisters. Her mom heard her singing when she was younger and thought it was the radio. I think Madilyn looks like Danielle Bradbery. She has a quiet but powerful voice. Usher turns around once she hits the chorus, and is soon joined by Shakira. She hits some beautiful notes in the bridge. The judges are hilarious when fighting over Madilyn.

Madilyn is on Team Usher.

Noah Lis – 22 – Me & Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul

Noah has been running his own music business for eleven years. His inspiration was his grandfather, who passed away last year, and he tears up when talking about his grandfather. This performance is dedicated to him. Noah isn’t my favorite contestant, but his voice is unique. He kind of sounds like a rougher version of Michael Buble. Adam and Blake turn around at the last second…and I mean the very last second. Some talk about rainbows and butts ensues. I think he should go with Adam.

Noah goes with Team Blake.

Keith Shuskie – 28 – Somewhere Only We Know by Keane

Keith has a mustache and plays in an indie band. For a living, he works at a hospital. He’s rather awkward on stage, and his vocals are shaky. He definitely seems to be having fun, though! None of the judges turn around.

Deja Hall – 16 – True Colors by Cyndi Lauper

Deja is part of a military family, and they travel around a lot. She had her kidney removed when she was young, so she could never play contact sports. I really like Deja’s voice. She has a soulful sound, but it’s contemporary. Her tone is really pleasant. Blake and Shakira turn around, with Shakira missing her button the first time she goes to push it! Usher turns around at the end of the song. I think Usher could mold her into an R&B/hip hop starlet.

Deja is on Team Shakira.

Cary Laine – 28 – Better Dig Two by The Band Perry

Cary is a small town girl from Wyoming. She’s a mother and wife, and she believes that making it on The Voice will validate her dreams. She has a nice country voice, but she’s oversinging a bit. All four judges turn around. She has some grit to her voice, which she shows off toward the end, and it’s pretty cool. Adam lets Cary sit in his chair, and the judges fight for her.

Cary joins Team Adam.

That’s all for tonight, guys! Thanks for watching with me!! The standout for me tonight was Deja. Who was your favorite?
