    Really interesting results so far…

  • Whatiswrongwithus

Whhhaaaat??? Since when did peeps on here become anti-Matthew? All the poll results feature him the lowest… Just a week ago everyone loved him! Talk about how quick the fans can change huh… Sigh well I still hope he can win!

  • Chessguy99

More like three weeks ago. His past two weeks have been very underwhelming. On a night where many of the contestants stepped it up, Matthew was just ok in both his performances. Add to that the failure of any of the saved contestants surviving the next week, his departure is expected by many.

  • FinalFantasy13

who will go home… That’s a good question I am going to say James but I honestly don’t know..

  • Guest

Wow! Matthew was a hero and now a zero.

  • Guest
  • Damien Roberts

I think a lot of people were really expecting him to come back with a vengeance this week…he needed another “Hallelujah” moment.

  • dazja

I loved Cole’s performance of “Rich Girl” glad it’s doing the best on Itunes. My favorite performance of the season from him.

  • Jingle Jam

    Really?

  • dazja

Absolutely, I’m shocked that it’s getting such a negative reaction here. I’m glad the general public liked it as well.

  • jpfan2

I think either James or Matthew is going home. Too bad as they both have great real world potential. Hopefully they c an hook up with good bands after the show.

  • Amy Beth

So there will be no Top10 and all 12 songs will be in the Top 100, maybe even Top 50 by 11 am (plus 2 songs from a prior week).

This will come down to free, “real” votes.

  • chillj

I am absolutely dumfounded that Jacqui is doing so well. Dumfounded. She could win – what an injustice to a talented group of people.

  • notthatmary

Looks like most agree that bottom 2 will be James and Matthew. Plus for James – Matthew would have been gone last week except for instant save sending Caroline home instead and he is most definitely Adam’s favorite so he (Adam) should have folks in place to tweet.
Negative for Matthew – Jacquie is Christina’s fav so she may be willing to let Matthew go. Also, hard to imagine Matthew making the finals after 2 saves.

  • notthatmary

    Combined songs at 8.30a.

    Cole – 21, 26 = 47
    Tess – 19,43 = 62
    Will – 31, 35 = 66
    Jacquie – 23, 51 =74

    Matthew – 44, 46 = 90
    James – 41,57 = 98

  • Madilo

    Don’t be so sure

  • Amy Beth

Another way to do that is look at the approximate number of votes those rankings represent.

Right now, the highest song is about 6300 votes and the lowest is about 3000.

Once the voting closes, I’ll check again.

  • Amy Beth

Also, if it comes down to those 2, will the public want a top5 with 3 from one team?

  • notthatmary

Hey, thanks for the number “crunching”. Difference then is about 300 fans (voting 10 times each).

  • jpfan2

I know. The Voice contestants tend to vanish after the show.

  • fuzzywuzzy

It’s interesting that “Cry Baby” ranked so high among poll voters. I much preferred Jacquie’s rendition of “The Voice Within”.

  • fuzzywuzzy

I don’t think that people are necessarily “anti-Matthew”, but many viewers aren’t invested in any one particular contestant. I know that I loved James’ rendition of “A Case of You”, but honestly, I haven’t really liked any of his other performances. At this point, I think that more people may be fans of any particular performance by a contestant, rather than being an invested fan of a particular contestant regardless of how he/she performs. I know that I am enjoying the show, but at this point, I’m not particularly keen on any particular contestant winning.

  • James

I think that the only two who are safe is Cole & Jacquie.
I could see any of the four going home because of not having the fan bases behind them.

  • Shawn Jang

    I’m lovin’ these poll results!

  • Celesm

I don’t think people really care as long as they’re not in the exact same genre

  • Celesm

Agreed. I think it probably also doesn’t help that when someone like James had a bad performance there was more fodder to save him.
Now that there isn’t any fodder left it’s probably the worst time for Matthew to deliver 2 weak performances in a row

  • crackinthewall

    #13 Redemption Song – Tess
    #16 Rich Girl – Cole
    #20 Cry Baby – Jacquie
    #23 Better Man – Cole
#25 A Change is Gonna Come – Will
    #27 Hey Brother – Will
    #30 Unconditionally – Tess
#34 I’d Do Anything For Love – James
    #39 When a Man Loves a Woman – Matthew
#43 Story of My Life – Matthew
#46 The Voice Within – Jacqui
#48 Fell In Love With a Girl – James

What time do the voting period close? Bottom Two would most likely be James and Matthew. With no one in the top 10, we might still get a surprise boot.

  • crackinthewall

This has been a very inconsistent season so far and IMO, contestants from previous seasons have a lot more charisma than those from this season. I just can’t bring myself to care much about any particular contestant longer than two episodes.

  • MV007

I’d be dumbfounded if anyone else won. Ok, not really but I love me some Jaquie.

  • girlygirl

I generally like Jacqui a lot, but in terms of teenagers taking on Janis Joplin, Allison Iraheta >>>>>>>>>>>> Jacqui. However, I’m sure she will be safe for another week. From the iTunes numbers I saw, it looked like Matthew and James were the ones in the most danger of going home. Matthew has not been able to come close to replicating his Hallelujah performance, and James does not seem like he connects to the viewers on a consistent basis.

Are they doing the twitter save this week? If so, and it comes down to those 2, I would guess that Matthew would be saved over James.

  • HMc

Tess is close to entering the top 10, does she still have time ? or is it only within a certain time after the show.

  • Guest

Closed at 11 am eastern or 8 am pacific time. It’s CLOSED. Itunes ranking has not been a good indicator this season. But it looks like James and Matthew and maybe Jacquie has a shot at the bottom two.

  • Guest

I think if your the top 10 when the votes are closed. Which is 11 am eastern and 8 am Pacific time. So Tessanne did not make it.

  • weareallinnocent

For iTunes sales, I thought each sale counted as 1 vote, and only one sale per person/account would count. So, the difference would be 3300 fans, right? Or, I’m just confused. That’s entirely possible.

  • MrONegative

I feel like it’s a LeBron James situation. He was so amazing, showed some weakness, and everyone jumped ship. Now people won’t even admit that his “When A Man Loves A Woman” was better than Will’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

It’s ridiculous. I think people never liked him from the getgo, but admitted he was killing it. And the second he stopped killing it…. But someone like James who’s been doing nerdy karaoke ever since his one great performance gets praise.

  • MrONegative

Did James have another “A Case of You” moment?

  • HMc

    thank you… too bad

  • carola99

Yep. It´s definitely Matthew or James going home.
So disappointing about Matthew. What happened to that guy who sang Cosmic Love in the Battle Rounds? What did they do to him?
So much potential but never got there..

  • Amy Beth

Based on the numbers from Digital Sales Data, this is approximately the number of downloads each song sold by the close of voting.

    Tessanne: #15–8080 and #33–5290 Total: 13,370

    Cole: #16–7660 and #23–6630 Total: 14,290

    Jacquie: #20–6920 and #46–4060 Total: 10,980

    Will: #25–6230 and #27–5930 Total: 12,160

    James: #34–5160 and #48–3790 Total: 8,950

    Matthew: #39–4840 and #45–4290 Total: 9,130

From the best overall seller(Cole) to the worst (James) is only about 5300 votes.

    Draw your own conclusions.

  • Amy Beth

you can vote up to 10x per contestant with the other methods.

So a motivated voter with a landline and a cell, plus a work email and a personal email can vote for that person 40 x.

And those are all free, versus spending $1.29 to vote 1x.

  • Amy Beth

Sorry for replying to my own message, but I couldn’t edit properly.

These numbers don’t include the nitwits who insist on downloading before the voting window opens. Since Cole and Tessanne performed early, they are especially vulnerable to losing votes this way.

  • Igor F

5300 votes is really nothing in the general scheme of things. Carson has said how many total votes the Voice gets and I pretty sure it’s in the 100000s. I would say that Cole is safe though. Not because of the itunes but because I believe he has the support from the voting public.

  • Damien Roberts

No, but I don’t think he needed it.

  • MrONegative

Well…he did. He was bottom 2. And he only stayed by less than 1% of the vote. Considering that Matt mistyped his Voicesave to retweet, there’s a decent chance he would’ve been gone. And he’s just about 100% going to be gone next week.

  • weareallinnocent

That’s interesting. So, I guess they don’t count as actual votes, but they must help toward the overall ranking. As a result, they can boost a contestant toward the Top 10 multiplier, but they don’t count as actual votes? Is that right? Strange.
