U2 Manager Confirms American Idol Season Finale Performance

UPDATE: An announcement posted on U2.com confirms the New York Post report:  Bono and The Edge will appear alongside cast members of the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.  (Via THR)

The New York Post broke the story on Friday.  Now it’s confirmed.

While backstage at the Billboard Music Awards, the band’s longtime manager, Paul McGuinness, revealed that the group would be rehearsing for the “Idol” finale on Monday before performing on Wednesday’s Idol finale (watch below).

What U2 will perform on the Idol stage has not been confirmed, but according to the New York Post, the band was negotiating to play their songs from “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, ” with the “Spider-Man” stars to joining them onstage.
