Triple Crown-winning jockey Victor Espinoza will join the cast of Dancing with the Stars Season 21. As a jockey, he’s a shorty! But who knows, maybe he’s got some moves.

SportsNation hasn’t aired yet. It was pre-empted today for some other sports related programming. Unfortunately, ABC didn’t get the memo and put up the press release early. We’ll have some video in a bit, though, so stay tuned for that.

The jockey stopped by ESPN2’s SportsNation to make the announcement. After coming close twice, Espinoza earned the famous Triple Crown earlier this year, winning the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and The Belmont Stakes aboard speedy American Pharoah. It was the first time in 37 years the feat had been accomplished. The first Hispanic jockey to ever win the Triple Crown, Espinoza has won over 3000 races in his career and donates 10% of his weekly winnings to The City of Hope for childhood cancer research. Before becoming a jockey, Victor drove a city bus in Mexico, and says, “It’s a lot easier riding horses than driving in that traffic in Mexico City.” Will Victor be as impressive on the dance floor as he is on the race track? Tune in to the Season 21 Premiere of Dancing with the Stars, MONDAY SEPT 14 8|7c on ABC.

Earlier this week, Australian conservationist and actress Bindi Irwin was the first star announced for the cast of Dancing with the Stars Season 21. Stay tuned to ABC.com for more celebrity cast announcements, and see the final roster of celebrity dancers and their Pro partners WEDNESDAY SEPT 2 on Good Morning America.

Some other celebs rumored to be on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars are singer and Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter, Bachelorette, Kaitlynn Bristow, Pretty Little Liar’s Shay Mitchell, and gymnast and American Ninja Warrior, Kacy Catanzaro. According to E News,  Nick and Alexa Vega are in talks, but did not sign contracts yet.

Demi Moore (mom of S20 winner, Rumer), Caitlyn Jenner and Rick Schroeder turned down opportunities to appear, reports E!. Jodie Sweetin wanted to do it, but couldn’t fit the gig into her Fuller House shooting schedule for Netflix.

GMA revealed the cast of pro dancers last week. Check that list HERE. It was also reported last week that long-time judge, Len Goodman, would not be returning to the panel this season, along with fellow judges, Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
