Trent Harmon American Idol 15 Amory MS Homecoming

According to MSNewsNow.com, “thousands” came out to celebrate in Amory. There was a parade followed by a concert at Amory High School’s football stadium. Trent also had a parade and visited Hometown Pizza.

“I try to love on my fans as much as I can, you know, but it’s not the same through Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Harmon said to WTVA News. “To come back and actually shake hands and for them to shake my hand and say, ‘Hey man, I voted for you’, I believe them.”

“The community that’s getting together for Trent, that’s so awesome for him,” Manny added. “He deserves every little bit of it.” The singer joined his pal on stage during the concert.

Before Trent’s homecoming parade, he stopped by Amory High School, reminiscing on stage about performing the lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and as the Beast in Beauty in the Beast.

“Getting to see all these people here, I feel like it’s so much better than Facetiming,” Harmon said at a press conference at the high school. “I’ve gotten cookies from people in Amory in the shape of guitars and the state of Mississippi. It’s just weird. It’s crazy.”

“Maybe in three years, I’ll have two pieces of music, or in five years, I’ll have three,” Trent said. “To see my name on iTunes yesterday, I can now cross that off my bucket list.”

“I thought about quitting, but I did it for one more year and look what happened,” Harmon said. “It’s just hard work. It’s not easy. You don’t show up on show day and sing a song on stage. You put in hours and sacrifice enough sleep that you hope you stay awake during show day.” Read more from the press conference at CDI Dispatch
