I haven't even read any comments I just want to say,
MJ, I sure hope your ideal Top 5 ends up being the real Top 5. (even though there's not a chance in hell)

Matt is so great, IMO. I love this guy and anticipate his future whatever musical direction he chooses. Though I do favor his r&b/soul flavor, his voice is butter to my ears. In fact, "You Found Me", is a song I never cared for, but now love.
He's a sincere singer/musician, and I feel that. Not so much with the other contestants (Kris perhaps). For those who do listen to the studio versions, I'm sure you can agree Matt is amazing; ready for radio, IMO, and I'm buying.

MJ, you clearly only want to protect the amount of traffic on your blog. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure you know most of the bloggers on your site are Adam fans, just like last year you knew most were David Cook fans, so you do what you have to do to keep them happy.

No. I want to protect my blog from stupid fan wars and idiotic fantarding.

Stick to your fansites if you can't handle the conversations here without freaking out.

You are both on notice.

QCloud and Anoop Fan:

If you can't handle criticism of Anoop, I suggest you both stop reading.

I'm here to tell you both, that if you don't calm the fuck down, I'm putting you both in moderation.

Guess I missed the war, just as well. Tess, you are right. It is good that people have different opinions and it does keep the show interesting and the blog interesting. I wish sometimes the comments weren't quite so mean spirited, including my own at times.

I wanted to comment on the impersonations from the other night. Wasn't it cool how much they all seemed to like each other and get along? They were having fun, not being mean. Even in their exit interviews on Idol Tonight they have nothing but positive things to say about each other and that includes Danny and Adam. I didn't find Danny's impersonation of Matt any more offensive than Matt's impersonation of Danny on the taped segment or Allison's impersonation of him during the show. They all seemed to take it in good fun. Anoop's impersonation of Kris cracked him up. I love the way they all step in to help Scott when he needs to get from point A to point B. I like the way he was included in the fun at the "mansion". This just seems to be a really nice group of people.

The best dressed discussion above was kind of interesting. I love Adam, can't stand the way he dresses usually, but loved him in the gray suit singing Tracks of My Tears. Awesome! Same with Allison. Love her, can't stand her clothes. But I am over 30 so maybe am just not hip enough to appreciate them. Lady Gaga for example to me was Lady Gag-Gag.

Danny has a more casual look. I think people are put off by his glasses, maybe, but as a glasses wearer myself, I think it is cool that he is playing with it and making it a part of who he is. Good for him. I like Matt and Kris's downhome kind of dressing. Both look comfortable. To be honest I haven't noticed what Anoop and Scott are wearing, so it is clearly not something that is offensive to me or something that I love. Megan would be hard pressed not to look awesome no matter what she wears because she has that classic Hollywood beauty and doesn't seem to cover it up with anything too outrageous. The Caws and arm flapping were outrageous enough. I think Lil dresses too old. She always looks elegant and beautiful, but she looks 30 not in her early 20s. I would like to see a younger looking Lil. Maybe it is because she is a mother so young, but wouldn't it be fun to see her losen up a little bit and act like a young person. I do find her more personable than Syesha and just as talented.

Well, I hope I haven't offended anyone. There isn't anyone on the show that I believe shouldn't be there. I did think there were better singers than Megan that didn't make the top 12, but of those remaining, all are talented and I wish them all good luck. I believe it will be hard for anyone to knock Adam and Danny out of the top 2 position, but Kris and Lil might have the best shot at it. Allison and Scott don't seem to have the fanbase and Anoop's fanbase has kept him in it this far, but I agree there do not appear to be many converts to Anoopdom. Matt just seems to be on a downhill slide the last few weeks. I hope he can turn it around because I like his bluesy sound. It should be a fun and interesting remainder of the season and I am getting some really nice downloads from I-tunes already. So hopefully we can all lighten up a little bit and enjoy the ride.

I pretty much agree with all that you said Mj - my top 5 would be Adam, Kris, Allison, Danny and Matt. I really only care about my first four there but I believe that Matt is the lesser of two evils when it comes to Anoop. To this day I cannot get his evil face out of my head, I know it is crazy but you caught a glimpse into his real side, I think, when he allowed that mean evil stare for a second after Simons critiques last week. I dont know but I also cannot get past his Beat It performance either I guess. I would like the top three to be Kris, Adam and Allison.

"MJ, please donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t ban baxter, she was just offering her own opinion about a contestant on the show. "

I agree with this and it would be a little boring without the mistress of harsh - I imagine her sitting back with a cigarette hanging out the side of her mouth, swilling a whisky sour - why is that? She can be pretty cranky but an interesting read.

What the heck is up with Lilà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s hair? Why canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t she just wear her own hair? The girl is beautiful, just as she is, and I would rather see her come out this week with her own hair. Maybe sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll get back to some better singing too!

The constant changes are distracting instead of enhancing her perfomances. She might fare a lot better by just getting up there and being herself. If playing dress-up isn't helping the confidence, it's time to put the comfy shoes back on.

For all the pushing of her by the judges, do we know anything at all about her previous music experience...or wasn't there any and that's why AI's dodged the issue entirely?

MJ, please don't ban baxter, she was just offering her own opinion about a contestant on the show.

Thanks.

Now I do think the judges should stop with the "what the hell are you wearing". I understand if they throw that in, but they should not make it the whole critique of the overall contestant's singing and performance.

Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s what I say!!! I mean look at what Lady Gaga was wearingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.they really should lay off Allisonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s styleà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

The first thing I thought when I saw Lady Gaga was that the judges had a lot of nerve criticizing Allison with her on deck!

I don't have any purple hair in my past, but part of what I love about Allison is how real she is. I'd rather see her in a few age-appropriate fashion disaster outfits than dressed up like a pageant doll.

pj, I think the only time Danny has been "panned" was when Simon called his Motown week performance "amateur and clumsy". Other than that, the judges have been WAY too kind to him.

I actually like Anoop well enough, but he's not all that consistent. Plus, his bus is more like a mini-SUV. Anoop has had plenty of chances to shine. I still miss Alexis and Jesse.

ETA: Has Danny ever been panned by the judges?

I wonder what happened to Simonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“a wildcard could win thisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

I do think he was referring to Matt.
Sigh.. Come on Matt... You can do this. Get off those nerves. You are so talented.
I am so with Kara...
Matt's demeanor is endearing to me. He seems so fragile and sensitive, and that's what been hurting him lately. I hope he can recuperate.
He is such a good humble guy with this incredible talent. Maybe he is not ready, but I hope he doesn't give up.
I am praying for you this week Matt.

Now, will someone explain: gloves without fingers when it is 100 degrees on stage, chains coming out of pockets, holey jeans, wearing slips as dresses, full arm tats, t shirts 2 sizes too small, gosh awful tenny runners, dress jackets with those holey jeans, comb overs, facial hair that just makes you look like you never bath, guy-liner (when worn by straight guys), leather pants, colored tights (I wore those in the 70s), high heeled shoes you canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t walk in much less dance in?

Saddle shoes and white socks, sharkskin suits, oversized sweaters, sweaters worn backwards, wide leg bell-bottoms, hot pants, 2"stacked heels on men, Hawaiian shirts, bowling shirts, peg legged pants, etc. , etc., etc.
They are all just a fad.
