If Chris does this song, he’ll be unfavorably compared to Chris Daughtry.

  • ericalina

bad decision by chris r., if this is true. singing the song that put chris daughtry on the map with a voice that isn’t 1/100th as strong is a recipe for disaster.

but if this means phil can live on another week, i’ll take it!

  • Shannon

I love you Chris but WHY?
I guess he missed last season. No matter how good he does he will be compared to Chris Daughtry whose performance is way too fresh in everyone’s minds still.

  • KoalaChick

Over on realitytvworld.com, Snidget posted a list of spoilers from someone named Jersey Mike from the Drycountry.com board. Supposedly his brother works on the show. On that list, Wanted is posted as Blake’s choice, and Never Say Goodbye for Chris.

Thanks, mj. We usually have at least one fake list a week, so I never know what to believe!

  • pj

I hope we get some dress rehearsal reports this afternoon. Anyone know what time they typically end?

  • uncool

Aw come on, there are only like 5 Bon Jovi songs that everyone knows. It was inevitable that someone would choose “Wanted: Dead or Alive”.

  • FOTIAI

uncool – there are some of us that know a lot more than 5 Bon Jovi songs. I think it appropriate for them to sing something off the mainstream – mostly because if it doesn’t sound like Bon Jovi, people won’t like it (as stupid as that is – that’s the way AI always is) – make it your own, don’t make it your own – what do you do?

There are several great ballads (no one sings it slow like Jon!) that could make for some great renditions – I’m really hoping that there are more of those than trying to pull of “Livin’ on a Prayer” or “Bad Medicine”. It should be an interesting show – and I do agree that if ANYONE does WDOA, the Chris D. comparison will come into play – it would not be a wise choice for anyone…

I myself, would like to see “Bed of Roses” sung by Phil, I really think he could pull that off – it needs a strong, melodic voice – it’s one of the best Bon Jovi songs out there IMO…

  • radname

There are more than 5 Bon Jovi songs that people know. I think it’s a bad choice for Chris which is weird because he normally picks songs i like (but i hate him doing them)

  • marco5ny

I think it would hurt Phil to do a medolic song like “Bed of Roses.” I hope he goes for the upbeat country-crossover smash “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” He needs to stay away from anything that might come out “funereal”-sounding.

  • FOTIAI

You’re probably right marco5ny – I just really wanted to hear that song!!! Your choice is dead-on for Phil – although it’s still really hard for me to admit that Bon Jovi has a country-crossover smash – not a country fan, but love the song!

  • gleinan

Yes and Bon Jovi’s next albulm is supposively country..

I am thinking Jordin may do Who Says You Canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t Go Home..

I think Phil does better with but uptempo songs, he could do It’s My Life…

  • calimari

I’m not a Daughtry fan, but there is no denying he killed WDOA last year. But, if there are only so many to choose from, and maybe some of the contestants don’t want to sing the same song as another contestant, and they only feel comfortable with certain songs, I can see someone picking it. Too bad for Chris R tho. Has he learned nothing from LaKisha?

  • LB2

I don’t think any contestant has ownership over a song just because they did really well on it a few years ago or last year. There’s always room for someone to do better and there is always the possibility that someone can kick ass. I don’t think Chris R. will but that is most certainly not a song reserved only for Daughtry (who I admit was fantastic on it).

  • day-tripper

“thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s what I meant. He doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t strike me as someone who will buy a $687K home before his CD come out.”

Yep, that little d, what a dumbass, huh?

  • marco5ny

LaKisha should do “Have a Nice Day”. She could growl it out and have some fun with the underlying sarcasm — though that might end up turning off a lot of people too.

  • Kirsten

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think any contestant has ownership over a song just because they did really well on it a few years ago or last year. Thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s always room for someone to do better and there is always the possibility that someone can kick ass.

I agree. I remember a lot of people thinking that Simon was trying to ruin Katharine’s chances last year by making her sing SOTR because Kimberley Locke had done such a good job with that song in Season 2. Well (let’s not debate on who was better or whether Kat sucked….that is so last year), it went over well enough that she got to the final 2 and sang it again the next week, it became the A-side for her coronation single and she sang it as her big number on the tour (and at all the press stops she was asked to sing). So, somebody can have success with a song a previous Idol sang well.

We also had this same discussion earlier this season with one of Chris Sligh’s choices and he wasn’t even theme bound (and let’s not repeat that debate because that is so two months ago).

Chris R needs to pick a song from the Bon Jovi catalog that he thinks he can do well on. If a previous Idol sang it, so be it. The only reason that I even remember that Chris D sang it last year was because it was on the compilation album. I’m sure a lot of casual viewers don’t remember it at all.

  • kjc

Marco5NY — excellent suggestion! Kiki would RAWK on it!

  • RollTide

Did anyone ever say what the Bon Jovi song Jordin has sung over and over was?

  • http://idol-mania.com/american-idol-fan/ idol fan

If Chris R attempts Wanted, One of the Judges will make the Daughtry Comment of comparision. “It just didn’t do it for me Dog!”, or “You look nice and we love you but you didn’t have the compassion and intensity that your namesake did last year” or “It was a Bad Karoke attempt you would hear at your local watering hole.” Should be interesting :)

  • gleinan

Does anyone get the impression maybe Lakisha does not want to be on idol anymore? She took two former Idol songs that she should not of after being warned not to. Remember sometimes it is better not to win idol… Look at Chris Daughtry/Kellie Pickler/Bucky Covington. You hear more about them then idols who win it… Kinda strange to me…
I liked Lakisha at the beginning but she is not a driven as she use to be. I think Phil will not go home this week. I am thinking Chris and Lakisha.. Phil has gotten an increased fan base all of sudden not too mention those insane people an VFTW.Com. Phil is not that bad…. I guarantee he will be one of the first signed to a record label after the show ends.

  • mosheeaka

I heard Jordin will be singing “Living On a Prayer”

  • angelia

I was hoping that Chris R. would choose “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” and I really do hope that he doesn’t choose WDOA, not because Chris D. owns the song but simply because it would invite unfavorable comparisons from the judges. Simon has been looking for a whipping boy ever since Sanje left and would revel in insulting anyone (with the exception of Melinda or Jordin) who sang it. Either one of them would get tongue-baths even if they screwed up just like Jordin did a week ago.

  • jokiebird

Dang. All the sudden I really miss the grand entertainment that could have been Sanjaya singing “Bad Medicine.”

  • http://www.catsfromjapan.blogspot.com/ bad kitty

I really, really wish that they’d introduced a ‘classic rock’ theme, as opposed to strictly Bon Jovi tunes. It would have been far more interesting and far less limiting. Presuming for much of last week or so that that was the case, I was crossing my fingers that Blake would do a Bowie tune. Oh well. Still, GO TEAM PLAID!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

They may not remember it, but I sure bet they’ll be reminded of it by the terrible three.

Anyway, no matter. Chris is not at the top of my priority list right now at all.

SAVE THE BEATBOXER! SAVE THE WORLD! :)

  • Stefunny

    From TWOP:
Jordin — Livin’ on a Prayer
    Phil — Blaze of Glory
    Lakisha — This Ain’t a Love Song

  • jersey

I just watched the video for This Ain’t a Love Song. I can actually see Lakisha singing this. Probably a decent choice for her.

  • marco5ny

I shudder to open this can of worms, but I wonder if there will be any backlash against (or groundswell of support for) Jordin because of her right to life views now getting more notice. “Livin’ on a Prayer” indeed.

  • St.Lucia

Just how does one sing “Wanted Dead or Alive” in nasal?

God, I don’t even want to hear him sing that. I just don’t.

Other choices are looking quite good and quite promising. I think Lakisha picked a good song for her, I hope she does it well, although I still think she’ll be leaving, unless suddenly Chris R sucks worse. With the combined votes its quite hard to say what will happen.

I really like Jordin doing “Livin’ on a prayer” I can’t quite picture how she’ll do it yet, but we’ll see.

I’ll have to listen to Phil’s choice, I’m forgetting the song right at this moment.

  • Grammie Kari

I think Phil will not go home this week. I am thinking Chris and Lakisha.. Phil has gotten an increased fan base all of sudden not too mention those insane people an VFTW.Com. Phil is not that badà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦. I guarantee he will be one of the first signed to a record label after the show ends.

If the theme was “classic rock”, Phil would chose a Bon Jovi song. He’s quite familiar with their music! That would be great if Phil gets signed to a record label. In his case, not winning Idol could be a benefit! I hope he does a terrific job tonight!

  • Tracy

JT Lite is really doing Wanted: Dead or Alive? Geez.

  • Kirsten

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve also heard that Richie Samboro will be mentoring with Jon Bon Jovi tonight

I think that this one is true. That’s what the CTV promos have been saying (but, CTV’s promo-monkeys are no better than those for any other station).

  • bean99

I hope it’s just Jon tonight. I heard that Richie would be there for the performance tomorrow.

I hope the black hair isn’t true. :shock_tb:

The Blaker Girls Livejournal says Blake sang “You Give Love A Bad Name” with drums only. This from someone at dress rehearsal. :)

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

    OMG OMG OMFG!!!!!

Blake is back and with a fucking vengeance!!! I LOVE THIS BOY FOR BEING DARING AND BOLD AND PUTTING IT ALL OUT THERE!

Yep, that’s fangirlyness. Get over it. ;)

  • Stefunny

Oooh…Blake could do really awesome with that! Or….it could be a trainwreck. Hoping for the 1st option.

  • St.Lucia

The Blaker Girls Livejournal says Blake sang à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You Give Love A Bad Nameà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ with drums only. This from someone at dress rehearsal. :)

Oh please, oh please let this be true. :)

  • bambambam

    Ohhhh….

What about Sanjaya? They should just have him on and perform a song out of competition for the rest of the season. After all, they have already manipulated the vote counts to create drama during the results show, so what’s breaking another rule?

  • pj

The spoiler person said her friend called Blake’s performance “a whole mess of WOW.”

  • Lisa

Is Melinda really singing *In These Arms* or has this one proved not true? That is what I am hearing.

  • KoalaChick

    Nothing about Melinda yet?

  • St.Lucia

    Pimp spot for Blake?!!?!

  • maracaibo

    pj:

I hope that means it was good.. Was it a mess or was it good? =
I am sure he was awesome!
    :jittery_tb:

  • AlwaysElliott

All I’m sayin’ is that everytime someone does something weird with their hair (sanjaya excluede of course) they get the boot in short order. . . Ace? Nadia Turner? HELLO!!?!? Blake!!! I’m voting for you tonight to hope to buck this trend…

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

OMFG!!!!!!!!!! Amazing. That is all I have to say. Period.

  • St.Lucia

Blake was phenomenal. I loved it. That’s all.

He totally needed that pimp spot.

Now my ears shall bleed through Chris.

  • jasy

Did anyone esle “Phil the love”? I thought he rocked. I can’t believe Simon didn’t like Phil. I guess after making the comment yesterday on the talk show that Chris and Phil were the next to go…..he had to back that up tonight…matter how good Phil was!

  • maracaibo

    Sarah! I agree..
Totally amazing! I am in awe. Wow.
    Go Blake!

  • Tracy

Blake was awesome! He really took a risk, especially with such a well known song…and it paid off!

JT Lite…I think he hurt my dog’s ears (and mine, obviously). He should have picked a different song.

  • HollandX

The reason why Blake’s song was perfect was because he didn’t touch the chorus. THAT’s the part everyone knows, and THAT’s the part everyone wants to sing along to. He didn’t alter the chorus. Amazing rendition.

  • Nostradamas

OK, I guess a “gimmick” is supposed to be a substitute for a total lack of range, dynamic, tune and tone.

Blake, you amateur, this isn’t 1997, drop the cutsie, gimmicky crap and GO HOME! “Shut thu the hot” ain’t the words, loser.

Anyway, on to the other’s who can actually sing.

Phil, surprised me, but still is going home.

Jordin, don’t do that again….none of it worked.

Lakisha, sang a ballad….who would have guessed? Missed 2-3 words all together and slurred even more. Buh Bye to you too.

Blake, why is he still here?!?! ‘SUCKS’ poster boy.

Chris, did a more than respectable job, but he ain’t no Jon / Daughtry.

Melinda, as close to great as anyone, but her voice and “rocker chic” don’t mix…..but still the “Resident Pro”.

  • RollTide

Blake blew me away. Best performance ever. What time is his download gonna be up tomorrow? :clap_tb:

  • panz

At this stage of the competition, almost nothing will change my mind. The three I like, I thought were all good to great, as usual. The three I don’t like, not so good tonight.

  • maracaibo

Hey for the people who liked Blake can yo guys vote too?
People will assume he is safe and he might get voted off.
    Just saying.

  • longsong

The two that stood out for me tonight are Lakisha and Melinda. EXCELLENT!! I actually, FINALLY felt Lakisha for the first time in a long time. She got me all verklempt even.

And I love Melinda. Yes, I know she’s boring because she’s always perfection, but STILL.

As for the rest: Jordon was so meh. That’s two weeks in a row now. Of course, she has those two lovely rows of teeth and will be staying. Sigh. I’m kinda over her.

Phil was good! I just don’t know what it is about him. Maybe it’s the way his upper lip disappears when he smiles. I would prefer him to be super ugly or something because I just can’t put my finger on what bugs me about him. You know how all those dentists offered to fix Elliott’s teeth for him – and they did? Maybe the Hair Club for Men will do the same thing for Phil. Maybe THAT’S what’s bugging me.

Blake is cute, I can absolutely see his charm, but I would never, ever buy a cd with beatboxing on it. I like it better when he just sings. Sorta.

Chris: I forgot he was even still in the competition. I HATE how he leans down towards the camera and moves his head back and forth while he talks at me. And I do not like that song! I did not like it when teeny tiny daughtry did it, and I certainly didn’t like it this year. It’s overly self indulgent. Wanted Dead or Alive? You ain’t that important to me, baby.

    My rankings:

    1. Lakisha
    2. Melinda
    3. Blake
    4. Phil
    5. Jordin
    6. Chris

  • ericalina

i wish i liked blake more. i guess i would if he could actually sing.

    my rankings:

    1) melinda (can this girl NOT do anything??)
    2) lakisha (a really soulful version of an underrated JBJ song!)
    3) phil (i like the sound of phil’s voice a lot. wish he did “bed of roses” instead!)
    4) blake (ballsy, yes. singing voice, no)
    5) jordin (karaoke – and bad at that!)
    6) chris r (how come no one called him out on forgetting the lyrics? pretty unacceptable at this point).

  • longsong

    6) chris r (how come no one called him out on forgetting the lyrics? pretty unacceptable at this point).

I agree. And I think this is the second time he’s done that.

  • Metta

    1. (tie) LaKisha and Phil were the very best of the night. Phil was a surprise. His continued survival has been a mystery to me. Tonight, I’d say he deserved his place. In a weak season, he shines. LaKisha knocked it out of the park. What an emotionally authentic performance. Esp, when many–herself included–wrote her off. If there’s any justice in AI land (there isn’t), she’ll survive the cut this week.

    3. Melinda was very good, but she’s still boring. *yawns*

    4. Chris has never done anything for me, and that didn’t change tonight. BUT at least he sang the entire song, unlike…

    5. I like Blake‘s beatboxing in small doses, but it does appear that he used it to distract from the fact that his vocals are only adequate. It is a bit like someone being allowed to play an instrument in lieu of singing. Plus, you could tell Bon Jovi hated what he did to the song.

    6. Jordin – Complete and utter disaster. She should be voted off twice for laying this egg.

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Longsong, this is more than the second time Chris has forgotten lyrics I do believe. I think the question is, has he EVER gotten the lyrics completely right? lol

  • bean99

Loved, loved, loved Blake tonight! My husband did too so it’s not just the fangirly ones, lol. I thought he was the best of the night. What happened to Jordin tonight? She was bad. I wasn’t that keen on Melinda tonight but Phil & Lakisha were both pretty good.

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Chris has never done anything for me, and that didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t change tonight. BUT at least he sang the entire song,

Sure, he sang the song. He also screwed up the words and changed the melody of the song, all the while screaming and straining his voice so much that if I had a cat, it would have been crying. In fact, I think I DID hear some animal outside crying for their mate…

My roommate, who watches American Idol as a guilty pleasure and laughs at me for voting all night on Tuesdays, said after Blake’s performance “I’d buy that track!”, then proceeded to cast a few text votes for him. I’d say that pretty much speaks volumes.

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

    Nostradamus,

I’d say when you put your OPINIONS out there, ANYONE is FREE to comment on them.

  • AlwaysElliott

    My faves:
    Phil, Blake and Melinda

Jordin – not so good, but wow, I really like her!

Chris – UGH I can’t figure out why the judges like him so much….

I think its anybody’s guess who’s going home tomorrow.

  • RollTide

BTW, Nostradamus, you included Blake in your list of people “who can actually sing.” :)

Hey for the people who liked Blake can yo guys vote too?”

I did! Loved Blake’s performance tonight. Also liked Lakisha, Phil and Melinda. Best night so far of AI6, and Jon was a great mentor, imo.

  • bamatt

Blake kicked everyone’s butt tonight. I agree he was smart to not mess with the chorus but what he added was killer. I would go out & buy his version tomorrow. That was amazing!!!!!

  • longsong

Sarah: Chris’ constant lack of preparation both for working with mentors and for performances is a complete slap in the face. And a lazy slap at that. What a sloppy guy. What, does he have more important things to do?

I’m bummed that tonight’s votes will be combined with last weeks votes, because it’ll probably mean that Lakisha will be going home along with Chris even though she had an exceptionally strong night.

If I had my choice, Chris and Jordin would both be waving “bye” tomorrow night. As it is, I have a feeling we’ll be saying goodbye to Chris and Lakisha, darn the luck.

  • http://idol-mania.com/american-idol-fan/ idol fan

Blake was Awesome, Simon Kissed Lakisha, Phil wasn’t bad, Jordin Sucked, but I like her, Melinda “Shrek” was great. What a weird night. Say Bye to Chris Richardson, and one more..probably Phil Stacey even though he did a good job.
    http://idol-mania.com/american-idol-fan

  • t2

And I too wish that we could vote Jordin off twice. That was blasphemy.

Phil completely tore down the rafters. He was awesome. Jon BJ, you were absolutely spot on with your praise of this. Should have had the pimp spot with that performance.

Simon is full of … ummm … hot air, and I guess TPTB must really want to send Phil home…can someone remind them it’s a singing competition please.

Also loved Lakisha. Blake was fun. The rest were either a train wreck or forgettable. Please don’t let Melinda sing Bon Jovi again.

  • St.Lucia

Blake was excellent tonight. I really, really enjoyed it. the thing about it, be it less singing than others or not, he was ENGAGING. I was drawn into it. I was hooked. I was surprised and as someone stated, he didn’t change the most memorable part of the song, the chorus. I really, really enjoyed. As did my husband. I think that may be the second performance he has actually enjoyed this entire season, and he’s usually the “Don’t ever touch the original” kind of guy, but he thought what Blake did wasn’t a bad copycat version of the original. He made it good.

I still thought Lakisha was dead to the world. I mean she tried to muster up some passion….but well…I didn’t feel it. And her outfit…was not so good on top of it all.

I’m not even going to talk about Chris, because I couldn’t take it so I muted it pretty quickly after he started butchering it.

Melinda was good, but when isn’t she?

Jordin was a MESS. I wasn’t sure how on earth she was going to manage this song, but she didn’t mange it well, I also think that her being flanked by two guitar players made her feel awkward as well as looking quite awkward.

I enjoyed Phil. He actually breathed a little life into it. Now if only I could get the same out of Lakisha.

If I were to make a guess I’d still bet as Chris and Lakisha being the two to go.

I think Phil has had some strong last couple of weeks so he will be safe.

  • http://handicappingai6.blogspot.com RenaRF

BLAKE LOVERS – Hopefully you know I’m definitely not a Blake hater and I try to be objective… So here’s what I have to say about tonight’s Blake performance.

First, if you listen back (don’t watch, just listen) you’ll hear that his vocal was just ok. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. What Blake did especially well was recognize WAY in advance that he would have to work this week’s music because this week’s music didn’t work naturally for him. Having said that, this IS still a singing competition and not a creatively-obscuring-the-singing competition and he was far down the list, vocally, from Melinda, Phil and Lakisha. The good news is on vocals alone, he was far UP the list from both Jordin and Chris R.

And not for nothing – I’m a HUGE Taylor fan and he wasn’t the best singer last season (I think I would give that to Elliott, frankly – a natural gift) but he knew how he could shine and he chose those moments thoughtfully and carefully. So I’m not taking anything away from Blake – I just think the repeated “HE WAS AWESOME DAMNIT” mantra is overselling the actual performance a tad.

Here’s where I ranked them tonight:

    Melinda Doolittle
    Phil Stacey
    Lakisha Jones
    Blake Lewis
    Chris Richardson
    Jordin Sparks

The first three are bunched together for me. Blake holds the middle solidly. The bottom two were WAY below everyone else.

Blake- Awesome job. Very original. He’s interesting and very comtemporary-someone everyone would love to hear on the radio. Should be the final 2 left in the end if people are smart and actually vote.

Jordin-Gurl, bad song choice. Only the chorus was good. But she’s awesome and I think she should definitely stay on a while.

Phil- He’s really gotten better and improved over the last 2 weeks. Impressed. Hope he stays around at least one or two more rounds.

Chris- CUTIE!!!!! :) BUT, he’s not showing off his talent therefore he’s getting boring and I hate it but I believe he’ll be gone soon.

LAKESHA- WHOOOO. SHE CAN SING!!! She’s like a Whitney Houston. She’s never had training and she still sounds better than Melinda. She has more tones and can sounds different and interesting.

Melinda- I have nothing againt Melinda b/c she’s nice but she looks like a troll, sounds the same in EVERY song (boring), Only sings and sounds good when singing old songs, BUT she does have a power house of a voice (FROM TRAINING ALL THOSE YEARS). I know that Melinda will stay around for a lil while BUT, I HONESTLY don’t see her having any good contemporary songs out on the radio. She’s only good at older songs and Jazz. HONESTLY NO ONE will want to hear that on the radio.

  • Allen

Melinda was, again, easily the best of the night for me. Loved it.

Blake’s performance was just WOW! I would buy it NOW!
Excuse me, I am going to keep voting for him

  • Stefunny

Wow! Except for the giant sinkhole Jordin landed in, BonJovi night was a nice surprise.

    My rankings:

Melinda — Awesome! Is there nothing she can’t sing? I totally called the Tina Turner vibe before Randy mentioned it. And way to go out of her comfort zone with pizazz!

Phil — Too bad he was first. I hope he isn’t overlooked b/c of it. He did a great job with a perfect song for his voice. Love that BonJovi thought it was stellar, too.

Blake — What a fun performance! Yeah so he didn’t sing the entire time but he had charisma and did justice with his arrangement of one of the most famous BonJovi songs ever.

Lakisha — So she sang it nicely but it was still a power ballad and she sang it like a gospel song from church. Snore.

Chris — Hate this song and even though I was a big Daughtry fan, didn’t like it then either. He brought nothing new to the table and the backlighting was just horrible.

    huge space

Jordin — really, really bad from hair to outfit to singing…she tanked big time.

I was pleasantly surprised at tonights performances , I was expecting a disaster and the night wasn’t horrible at all.
    My ratings for tonight :
    1. Melinda , she is so in a league of her own in the competition. She has been steady as a rock .
    2. Phil , this guy has a great voice ( too bad Simon is trying his best to get him voted off)
    3. Blake , made up for his shortcomings by becoming ” Blake the entertainer” . He was refreshing.
4.Lakisha , good pipes but something is lacking.Simon done his best to save her tonight.
    5. Chris did a decent job but was out of his comfort zone.
    6. Jordin , poor girl , it was just plain bad. Didn’t care for her performance last week either but the sympathy vote and some major pimping by TPTB will save her.

Simon wants Phil and Chris gone , will he get his way ???

So, Lakisha, Phil and Blake were excellent tonight, I was blown away, and that’s the first time I can really say that this whole season. I hope none of these three are going home tomorrow night.

I absolutely cannot stand Chris Richardson’s singing, it is so nasal, and he just didn’t have the rough, manly factor that “Dead or Alive” needs. I think after Chris Daughtry sang it last season, it should’ve been retired from the repetoire. I hope he is gone tomorrow.

Melinda is excellent, but she’s the same every week, she never seems to put anything new to her performances.

And, although Jordin’s vocals are really, really good, I think she was completely outshown tonight.

And that would be my top three right there…

I love that Jon Bon Jovi was SQUEEing over Phil’s performance. That made my whole season.

Just rewatched the show. It was quite a night. Jon Bon Jovi is one good looking guy. Loved how he was pulling for KiKi.

My order in which some of them are interchangeable:

Blake-loved that he took a risk. He actually looks good with dark hair. He isn’t the BEST singer, but he is the best entertainer of this group. He holds your attention as you don’t know what he will do next.

Melinda-she makes me smile for some reason and the girl can sing. She is so professional and so likeable.

Lakisha-finally a mentor she connected with. The girl has pipes. Loved the kiss from Simon.

Phil-he looks cadaverous but can really sing. He has done well the last few weeks. I think Lakisha and Phil were both equally good.

Chris-sorry, i havenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t liked him from day one but he was a smidge better than Jordin who stank.

Jordan-stank up the joint yet, dial idol has her in first place. go figure. Jordin and Chris are pretty interchangeable except that she is usually pretty good and he is usually awful.

So based on tonight alone-bottom 2 Jordin and Chris.
Who will go home – chris and either Phil or LaKisha because of last week.
who should go home – jordin (for this week) and Chris for last week.

    Phil à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Blaze of Gloryà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Simon should have saved his à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re a kitten trying to be a tigerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ for Phil. Randy and Paula loved it but I thought it was a karoeke mess.

Jordin à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Living On a Prayerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Most difficult Bon Jovi song to sing. Dressed the part. I liked seeing her have fun, but clearly she picked a song that was too big for her. It was a mess. She can afford a bad week after last week. Didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think it was as bad as the judges thought.

    LaKisha à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“This isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t ainà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t a love songà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ – Her best performance since à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“And I am telling youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . She did amazing and the judges love it. Great job. Better than Bon Jovià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s version.

Blake Lewis à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You give love a bad nameà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Changed up the arrangement, beatboxed. Really quirky and original version. I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t like it but the judges went googoo over it and praised him with comments.

Chris Richardson à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Dead or Aliveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ This song should be off-limits after Chris Daughteryà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s version. Once again, Paula and Randy loved it. Simon told him it was as good as he could do with it. I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t like it at all. I guess I have higher standards when it comes to these songs than the judges. Maybe because Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard of them before.

Melinda Doolittle à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Have a nice dayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Upbeat, typical Melinda performance. However, like the typical Melinda performance she sang a song that is not very popular and that I have never heard before. I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know if Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve ever heard any song she has sung before other than Heaven Knows. Simon called her a young Tina Turner.

    Bottom 3: Jordin, LaKisha, Chris

    Going Home: LaKisha and Chris.

I think one of the divas is going home.. However it is convenient that they picked the night most people vote, the Idols give back week, as a week tailor made for the divas. Then followed it with a non-diva friendly week. Still, LaKisha kicked butt and it is going to sad to see her go

Random thought: Laura Bush at the endà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦. I think she gets botoxà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ and is on Xanex
