The thing I feared about allowing the Idols to play instruments happened. Someone who can’t play thought it would be a good idea to play. UGH! Not good, Chikezie, not good at all.

I completely agree with this recap, I knew Beatles Week two weeks in a row was going to be a disaster. Last week that entire show was memorable, this week forgetable and considering that these contestants probably had songs already lined up for the birth year theme and had to change it immediately to somemore Beatles songs. I honestly can’t even blame them that much, stupid producers, Nigel I’m talking to you.

I’m also with you on David A. He has nice voice, he hits all the notes, but where’s the emotion, where’s the edge, I need something else to go off of rather than him a singing a nice ballad all the time, which he’s good at. I don’t think David Archeluta has this in the bag, I think David Cooke is going to win this show, he shows versatility in this competition which is needed and I can imagine buying a cd from him, David A, not so much.

I also think Chikezie gets dogged alot and it’s obvious that Simon doesn’t like him. Chikezie’s more interestling than half of these contestants put together. He now knows that he needs to take chances for him to stand out, I don’t see a lot of the other contestants (Ramielle, Michael, Jason) taking any chances in this competition. I’m really rooting for Chikezie because other people who are coasting by are continually safe because their so popular.

To the person who thinks that David Cook is too smug – please take a minute and watch this Tampa Bay Channel 13 video. I don’t know if it will change your mind but I was impressed.

I put the 10 MB flv file on mediafire since the original link is so long and may disappear today with a new results show. Note David did nothing to publicize his actions that all came from the little girl’s dad who works for this Fox station.

Honestly, I thought Chikezie was one of the few this week who understood the vibe and meaning of the song he was singing. He should have lost the harmonica, but he did the Beatles justice.

Michael – he seems lost on the big stage. Nice voice, but he really needs a performance style other than bobbing up and down.

Jason — a little dull again this week sniff.

Kristy Lee — an embarrasssingly awful noninterpretation of a great song.

Syesha — ugh. another awful version of a great song. Way over sung. DO NOT CHANGE THE MELODY of such an iconic song.

What I think the biggest problem was..very few can do The Liverpool Boys. Many of us (note the 1961) grew up with The Beatles, loved them, understood the songs. very few singers can live up to them. What really shocks me is many of the young kids don’t know or like The Beatles. I have a 17 year old and he just doesn’t like them. Yes, i have failed as a mother. To pick the song by the name? I wish they never would have been able to do the songs. Big mistake..don’t mess with the classics.

As far as Brooke interrupting the judges, what she was really doing was interrupting the booing of Simon. When he was being critical of her, he was getting booed, and she was really just saying “it’s OK” to the crowd.

I am just not getting the David A. love. He reminds me of Michael Buble and I DO NOT like Michael Buble.

For what it’s worth, we were at the Michael Buble concert last night and he was fantastic. His voice sounds even better live. His notes were dead perfect and the power notes were effortless. Complete command of the stage and a great sense of humor.

Not to mention, no lip licking.

I posted a TMZ link in headlines which says the idols this year are a bunch of divas. TMZ isn’t the most reliable source but there was more backtalking last night than I ever heard before on Idol. Didn’t they get the memo to just stand there quietly when they criticize you?
