REMINDER: If you are recording tonight’s show, don’t forget to set your VCRs and DVRs for 67 minutes!  Tonight’s performance show starts at 8/7c pm and runs until 9:07/8:07c pm

ETA:   Nigel Lythgoe  confirms  tonight’s theme.   Also:   He acknowledges, but claims he is not worried that the ratings are down, and he confirms that Taylor Hicks will be back to perform on the show.

Thanks to  Idol Maniac from Idol Forums, we have some rumored song spoilers for this week. This week’s  theme is “Songs That Have Inspired Gwen Stefani” rather than the very broad theme “Pop Songs” that was reported last week in the press.

LATEST UPDATE as of 5:18 EST:

You guys know how spoilers are.   They can change.   According to RickyHoeGuardian at IDF, the ORIGINAL list from yesterday was right on the money, “give or take a few small changes.”:

Blake Lewis – “Love Song” by the Cure and 311
Chris Richardson – “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt
Chris Sligh – “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by the Police
Gina Glocksen – Pretenders ballad
Haley Scarnato – “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper
Jordin Sparks – “Hey Baby” by No Doubt
Lakisha Jones – Donna Summer song
Melinda Doolittle – Donna Summer song
Phil Stacey – “Every Breath You Take” by the Police
Sanjaya Malakar – “Bathwater” by No Doubt

The wardrobe and performance order and Ford Commercial  are NOT yet confirmed…

  • MrsTrep

I have no idea what to expect out of this one. I don’t know Bathwater. Jordin’s choice is interesting, I hope she rocks it out. Do I know Love Song?

    LOL.

    Love Song – The Cure

or the 311 cover that Blake will possibly do

  • nj4187

is this the order they will perform and why all the police no doubts and donna summers

  • givein

    Melinda & Lakisha = boring & predictable

  • nj4187

    blake is also pretty predictable

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Oh yes, picking a song by The Cure is sooooooo predictable. At least I look forward to his song choices, since he has GREAT taste in music.

  • MsGail61

My guess is the Pretenders ballad is “I’ll Stand By You.” At least that’s the only one of their hits that I’d call a ballad. Gina should do well since she looks like Chrissie and the song doesn’t require yelling.

  • nj4187

sar i mean the type of music is predictable

  • bean99

I really don’t buy this list. I do think Blake could be doing Love Song because it’s been guessed and possibly spoiled but would Jordin really do Hey Baby? Why would Lakisha & Melinda both sing Donna Summers songs? Normally I wouldn’t think Sanjaya would do Bathwater but after last week you never know, lol.

  • Kobayashi Maru

I agree with bean99. The producers wouldn’t let the lineup be such an unvaried catalog of artists. I know it’s Gwen Stefani and all, but 3 x No Doubt, 2 x The Police, 2 x Donna Summers (which rumor has it may be the same song) is too “meh” for my tastes.

  • jersey

They have had Queen night, Elvis night, why would they care if two or three people choose songs by the same artist?

  • These Eyes

Blake’s song choice has pretty much been confirmed by a friend of his. I’m not sure about the rest of the list, but the person who posted them has been very reliable for correct spoilers since the Top 24. I love Blake’s choice. I’m a huge 80′s music fan and I dig The Cure. BTW, BShorty won’t be doing any beatboxing this week.

  • t2

    Every Breath You Take!!!!!

That’s it. I’m taking Phil’s songpicker away. Phil, please, let Blake pick your songs from now on.

I purchased Haley’s full length version of Missing You. I predict that True Colors will be a huge surprise (in a very, very good way.

  • RollTide

Blake predictable? Seriously? The only thing predictable about him is that he will rock at whatever he does, and he will look hot doing it.

Seriously though, he’s done such a variety – Keane, Jamiroquai, and 311 – I don’t see him as predictable at all.

  • bean99

Blake has been predictably hip & cool every week. :wink1_tb:

Lol on wanting Blake to pick Phil’s songs, T2.

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

    RollTide is hot. :D

  • maracaibo

    Rolltide is super HOT! Lol…

Actually I am really thrilled Blake picked that song..

AS always Blake is the coolest of the cool. He will definitely rock that song. Loving it!

  • http://www.myspace.com/xmisstarax Miss Tara

I love The Cure, and I love Blake. I hope this is true. He picks the most awesomest songs EVA!

  • WestSide

should be an interesting nite tomorrow

  • Grammie Kari

I really like some of the songs on that list!

Now wouldn’t it be great if Melinda and Lakisha went with the uptempo songs of Donna Summers. I refuse to believe they would be “dumb” enough to pick the same song!

    I do like Haley’s choice!

  • colette

Hey, Donna Summers had some great moments way back when! I could imagine Melinda ripping up “Hot Stuff”:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE_1nJ4MP20

But two disco-trampy Donna Summers tunes in one show? And please, no “MacArthur Park”!! That is enough to make you long for another Whitney Houston throat scorcher.

I still think Lakisha (or somebody!) should bite into something soulful, like this wonderful Eric Clapton tune: (maybe picking up the tempo a bit)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whw08RmUFNg

    or Santana’s “Smooth”:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpX97eg-W-k

Oh well — a girl can dream, can’t she?

  • colette

Over at Idol Forum they’re now saying Melinda will sing “Sunset People” and LaKisha will sing “Love Has a Mind of Its Own,” both Donna Summers tunes. who knows if that’s right…

  • http://www.AuthorsTeam.com maheshg

Label me disappointed at the double divas– last week they both do Shirley Bassey, this week Donna.

At least it’s not stuff I remember, at least by title– and we’ve definitely never seen it on AI.

OTOH, is it reaching into the boring part of the DS catalogue?

  • Lisa B

Melinda and Laskisha are becoming far too predictable.

  • http://www.chris-sligh.info steve-o-meter

The more I read these choices, the more aggrevated I get.

The AI site is still saying songs of the 1990′s, right on their front page.

Sligh’s song is from 1981, True Colors is from 1986 and I think the Donna Summer songs are from the 80′s too.

Okay, maybe all these songs were covered by people in the 90′s, but….I just don’t understand this week at ALL as far as spoilers go.

I guess we just won’t know until the show…..ugh, what an annoying week!

    It’s driving me nuts

    :wallbash_tb:

  • Lisa B

Steve they are songs from artists that inspired Gwen, so not 90′s.

    Nigel confirmed it yesterday.

  • Allen

That performance order is pretty dubious. Last week Melinda went last and Sligh went next to last. They almost always have the person who got the pimp spot the previous week go early in the order the next week, it seems doubtful they would just switch the order of the last two.

  • eyin

So I’ve been hoping for Blake to sing Jason Mraz since semis started, then Chris R sang it. Didn’t like it. And then I’ve been hoping for Blake to sing Maroon 5, now Sanjaya’s singing it. I’m sure as hell I’m not gonna like it. Ugh.

As consolation, I guess I’m happy that Blake is not very mainstream with his song choices.

I have a feeling Gina wouldn’t do justice to P!nk.

    Go Blake! Go Jordin!

  • dvls

Sanjaya’s wearing a PUFFY SHIRT??? :lol_tb: Well, I’m glad he’s not singing that bathwater song!

  • St.Lucia

    Oh dear.

First things first, I like Gwen Stefani in No Doubt circa 1997. Her solo works leave a lot to be desired for me. I think she’s a friendly upbeat person so hopefully she’ll be a good guest on the show.

    On the spoiled song choices:

Melinda&Lakisha= BORING. I don’t care if either one of them sing their hearts out on it(which Melinda probably will). They just don’t break out of their comfort zone, EVER.

Jordin= As much as I loved her last week, her song choice scares me.

Sanjaya = Maroon 5? REALLY? I’ve been a fan of Maroon 5 WAY before they ever made it big. With such a distinctive lead voice, I’m VERY VERY FRIGHTENED to see Sanjaya tackle this one.

Blake’s choice. I do like this song. A lot. I sure hope he does a good job of it.

Phil Stacey – I absolutely HATE this song. He’ll mess it up FOR SURE.

Haley – This is going to go over like a lead balloon. Another very distinctive song. I can hear the judges already. “The song was too big for you”. “It’s hard to do such a popular song”. Blah. Blah. Don’t do it.

Sligh’s choice. I think out of all the choices this one is PERFECT for Chris. I can already hear his voice on this song. I think he picked VERY well, so hopefully he doesn’t disappoint.

Oh and I almost forgot about Gina. Maybe that’s a sign? I don’t think Gina knows who she is. I really don’t. She’s a wolf in Sheep clothing. She likes to sing like Celine Dion, but then she puts on this “rocker” image that is about as believable as Sanjaya doing The Kinks last week. I don’t buy her “rocker” thing. I don’t. I hate Pink as well, so this doesn’t bode well for me.

From song choices, I’m actually quite looking forward to all of them except Melinda and Lakisha I must say. They’re choices are boring and predictable and they’ll knock out of the ballpark since it is no stretch for them. I’m looking forward to the trainwreck that is Sanjaya and hopefully for some good performances wedged somewhere in there as well.

  • rher

Well Donna Summer has some great stuff, but Sunset People isn’t one of them. I had not heard of this song or Lakisha’s Summer song either. It took me a while to find them. From the quick research that I did, Sunset reached #49 on a UK chart in 1979 and Love Has a Mind of Its Own was #70 on a US chart in 1984. Both songs are forgettable, with Lakisha’s being more big and ballady and Melinda’s being just plain boring. A bad disco song. I think I will tivo the show and then ff through it tonight. I don’t think I can handle listening to an hour of bad songs! I’m not even a fan of Gwen Stefani (don’t like her voice).

  • tinawina

I love True Colors, but I’m already falling asleep at the thought of Haley singing it. Ugh.

Phil.. OMG NO!!! Don’t do it, Phil. That song plays right into the creepy vibe he already gives off and not in a good way. Plus, he will not compare favorably to freaking STING! Lord that is a bad, bad idea.

Can’t wait too see what Blake does with the Cure. Very good choice.

I am very curious about Jordin.

I can’t remember what Melinda’s song sounds like. I hope it is at least uptempo.

Man, Sanjaya should be a hoot. LOng live Sanjaya! :devil_tb:

I don’t care about anyone else.

  • bean99

I can’t understand why anyone would pick a Donna Summer song and then avoid her more popular ones. I’ve never heard of either of those songs. If this is true I’ll be curious to see what the judges say since Chris D got static for choosing an obscure Queen song.

Chris R (Black Shirt, Black Shorts, Bandana)

Would Chris R wear this? :blink_tb:

I hope the order is wrong because if not, I’m steamed. Blake is near the beginning again and Melinda & Chris S are just switched from last week at the end. Not fair. :thumbdown_tb:

  • Venom

I hate how Blake is so obviously trying too hard to be original and pick “unique” songs. I would love to see him pick a not-so-original song for once and see how he does with it.

  • St.Lucia

I never thought I’d say this, but I now ENTIRELY look forward to Sanjaya. He’s the best entertainment on this show. (Shoot me, I know, I know).

They were bashing him on a radio station in the area and some girl was saying that she would starve herself until Sanjaya gets kicked off the show. Plea to get him kicked off, much? She then proceeded to rip VFTW saying it is all their fault.

At that rate, she’ll be dead before Sanjaya ever gets kicked off. Stupid Girl.

AT least I can look forward to a good laugh ONCE this evening. :)

  • Jan4

That same guy who posted those spoilers has also posted that tonight there will be a big twist and we will vote on one of the last few voted off to be on the tour with the top 10. That sounds absolutely goofy to me, so now I am suspicious of these spoilers. Oh well, we’ll know tonight.

I hate how Blake is so obviously trying too hard to be original and pick à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“uniqueà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ songs. I would love to see him pick a not-so-original song for once and see how he does with it.

Two weeks in a row, Blake chose songs that were completely from the theme and very popular at the time. There was nothing unique about them except for his take on them.

  • St.Lucia

I agree with Blake’s song choices as not necessarily being out of left field. I’ve been familiar with all his song choices and the only thing “unique” is his take on them. That may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

  • JustSomeGuy

Once again Blake and ChrisS make excellent song choices.
If nothing else, Jordin’s will be interesting. I think she’s build enough of a following that she can afford an off-night.
Haley would have been better served singing Amanda Marshall’s ‘Dark Horses,’ but what does she care, she’s in the top 10 and got a decent job this summer.

  • LB2

I think his songs are just unique to the show but not necessarily in the music world. Which is arguably part of his appeal, like Taylor, Elliott and Chris for me last year. I never expected to hear Ray Montagne or Fuel on the show, just like I don’t expect to hear 311, Jamiroqui or Keane. I appreciate it because it shows a person’s taste instead of picking the same old boring songs; it shows imagination and understanding one’s own vocal abilities.

Plus, if I have to hear “I Have Nothing” again on this show, I will cry.

Here’s what Idol Manic says about what Gwen though about each ones choice:

Blake – Gwen really liked this song on him. She thinks he’s in it to win it.

Chris R - Gwen suggested this song to him and said it would make him stand apart from the rest and show versatility.

Chrris S - Gwen didn’t think this was right song for him just as Lulu didn’t think “Diamonds Are Forever” was right song for Lakisha last week. She tried to get him to do a more soulful song but he went with his gut.

Gina – Gina has been wanting to do this for a while. Pink finally cleared some of her songs. Gwen thought this was right song for her.

Haley - Haley had a hard time choosing a song. She was thinking about 2-3 songs and finally settled on “True Colors”

Jordin – Jordin was going to sing a Donna song too but Gwen convinced her to take a risk with an upbeat song. They talked about it and agreed that “Hey baby” would definitely be a risk that she could pull off. It’s going to have a soulful spin on it.

Lakisha Jones – Lakisha knew what song she wanted to sing right away. Gwen thought she oversang a little but she has a good shot.

Melinda Doolittle – Blew Gwen away. Gwen said she was a star

Phil Stacey – Gwen liked Phil and suggested Police song. He was already thinking that so it wasn’t much of a decision.

Sanjaya Malakar – He wanted to sing “Bathwater”. She tried to get him to sing some 80′s song. He said he was a big fan and he really wanted to do one of her songs. Gwen was upfront with him and told him she didn’t think he could pull it off but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Today after seeing how rehearsals were going, she didnt’ see any progress. She went to Nigel immediately and told him she does not want Sanjaya singing one of her songs whatsoever. Sanjaya didn’t have many options at that point. He kind of got stuck with “Sunday MOrning”. This caused a big scene at the studio and was the talk all afternoon.

    WHOA!!!!!! DRAMA, MUCH?

Poor, Poor Sanjaya! I feel so bad for this kid. Are they going to show some of this drama in the little package before he sings? That doesn’t bode well. I want to be entertained like last week!

Secondly, I’m surprised Gwen didn’t like Sligh’s choice. I love his choice. It’s probably the only one I feel actually suits any of them. Oh what does Gwen know anyway? Her solo works are garbage!

And secondly can we pimp Melinda ANYMORE?! I know she’s great, but gosh I haven’t really seen such blatant pimping since Reuben. Not even Carrier or Chris D. got pimped this heavily. Isn’t she about due for some criticism?

  • rher

Isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t she about due for some criticism?

Melinda is great singer but, really, enough with the special treatment. Her song choice sucked last week and it sucks this week. Of course she will sing the song well. The judges keep throwing us “you really are a star Melinda” at us every week. I’m not falling for her as the underdog, and I like to cheer on the underdog. Frankly, I’m beyond bored with this story. Please AI, let’s move on.

  • SODF

Allen asked a good question – I thought if you got the pimp spot, you have to go first the next week. Hasn’t that been a pretty steady rule in prior seasons – at least in the early weeks of the final rounds?

Letting Melinda and Chris Sligh have the last two spots in two consecutive weeks (simply reversed) – what’s up with that? :ponder_tb:

  • janerazor

The order seems all kinds of wrong. I’m not sure what to make of the song spoilers. I had actually thought beforehand that Sanjaya would do well with “Sunday Morning,” but the claim that he wanted to do “Bathwater”? I youtube’d that song, and its gross factor rivals Sundance’s ill-chosen “Jeremy” (an uplifting tale of a picked-on boy who commits suicide in front of his class). “Bathwater” contains the lovely line “I still love to wash in your old bathwater” in the chorus. Ugh, I could barely listen to the song without gagging.

My head is spinning with all these spoilers. I like Sanjaya, so I hope it’s “Sunday Morning”–and the Maroon 5 song and not the Gwen Stefani song.

  • eyin

So Gwen/No Doubt has a song called “Sunday Morning”? Then that must be it. I can’t imagine Gwen Stefani being inspired by Maroon 5.

I can breathe now. No thoughts of Sanjaya singing Adam Levine.

  • rher

There still seems to be some debate on IDF as to whether the original spoiler is either having a laugh or has a bad source. Ricky insinuated (somewhere in the middle of the very long thread) that the spoiler has posted falsities before. The drama continues . . .

  • rher

Somebody is editing my posts. and it’s not me!

  • St.Lucia

You know, it didn’t even occur to me until I pulled out my Tragic Kingdom CD. I forgot entirely that No Doubt did have a song called “Sunday Morning”. I just spaced it entirely and assumed it was the Maroon 5 version since that was most recent, and well the spoilers say that it is the maroon 5 version, but I’ll bet it must be the No Doubt version.

It makes much, much more sense.

Me thinks spoilers are starting to sound a wee bit fishy…

  • longsong

I HOPE they’re fishy! I want Sanjaya to rock my world again, and I don’t like the thought of my wee sweetie getting picked on by the likes of Gwen.

  • marco5ny

I can not believe that Medinda will sing “Sunset People” by Donna Summer. After lurking for months on this site, I had to register to respond to this. Anyone who spent the late 70s / early 80s on a disco floor at 2am would know that classic song from Ms. Summer’s unforgettable concept album “Bad Girls.” Her breathy, sexy vocal over Giorgio’s pounding electronic beat was amazing. But considering the subject matter — night denizens of Sunset Blvd. — and its upbeat electronic music that does not provide a showcase for a vocalist — I find it hard to believe that Melinda is going to sing that song. BUT if she does sing it, and doesn’t get laughed off the stage, I don’t see how anyone would be declaring “BORING” song choice. I can’t say the same for Kiki’s selection of one of Ms. Summer’s more forgettable power ballads from the overappreciated “She Works Hard for the Money” album.

  • milajoy

No, the producers pick the order depending, they say, on who does the best – for a closing song.

Idol Manic is a reputable spoiler, who has been one of the biggest contributers at IDF. Ricky even said he’s reputable and to cut him some slack. People are complaining cause 1. It’s not Ricky and 2. because they don’t like what he provided.

Some folks live their life with their head buried in the sand until they can deny no more…

  • http://stores.ebay.com/BookWomanBlues-Book-Nook Bobbi

I would be thrilled if they got to do the Carole King’s songs! That could be a great night! She’s got such a book to choose from.

They seem to protect certain people from that. Melinda has twice had the last spot and has not sung first once. Same with Chris D at this point in the competition last year (sang last on Top 10 Guys (top 20), but Gedeon sang first on Top 8 guys (top 16); sang last on Top 12 but Mandisa sang first the next week (Top 11). Chris did not sing 1st until Top 7 and he did get the last spot the next week).

  • Jan4

rher, I tried to point that out earlier, especially since the new spoiler person has gone on to post a very ridiculous spoiler (about us voting tonight to include a rejectee on the tour with the top 10), but I don’t think anybody sees it.

  • Lisa B

No way is Nigel happy about the dip in ratings.

  • MOMster

Oh no! Sanjaya is going to butcher a nice Maroon 5 song? Say it isn’t so!

  • Tracy

I am less than thrilled they actually cleared Maroon 5 for Sanjaya.

  • janerazor

rher, I tried to point that out earlier, especially since the new spoiler person has gone on to post a very ridiculous spoiler (about us voting tonight to include a rejectee on the tour with the top 10), but I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think anybody sees it.

I saw that, too. I didn’t think this could be possible, because you would think AI would by hyping The Huge Plot Twist if it were true. Plus, how workable would this be? I would think it would take away from the number of votes going to the 10 singers left. Idol Maniac (who posted the song spoiler) has been reliable, but has also posted some stuff that later was shown to be him just messing around. So, you never know. Heh, I think the spoiler speculation will prove to be more exciting than tonight’s show!

  • jokiebird

I’m sure Nigel isn’t thrilled about the ratings dip, but I believe him when he says he isn’t worried. The numbers are still monster numbers, and will make plenty of money for the people making money from the show. They would have to go way, way, way down for it to cause any real concern. AI has already bucked the trend by having ratings going up for five years in a row. A ratings dip is expected and part of the natural lifecycle of any show.

  • jnd1221

Blake picked another perfect song for him. He’s gonna rock. But why is he always in the beginning? Last week he had to go 4th, now 2nd? Melinda and LaKisha, I really hope their choices are wrong. Jordin’s could be weird too. This night is not looking like it’s gonna be good, I hope I’m pleasantly surprised.

  • St.Lucia

Yeah, I don’t think Nigel is losing any sleep over the decline in the ratings. They couldn’t continously keep gaining ratings…well maybe the could if this was a better season. :)

  • SODF

Kirsten, as always, thank you for the history. Seems some contestants really do get favored treatment.

I don’t believe the producers always choose “the best” performance to go last – nor do I believe they should. There’s an obvious advantage to performing late on the show, and that advantage should be carefully distributed among the contestants on a fair basis. If the show really is a competition, as we are lectured every week, the competitive integrity of the show should count for something.

    Yes, I AM that naive.

  • jokiebird

I don’t think the pimp spot means nearly as much as people seem to believe. They don’t open the phones until all of the performances have been recapped. If Sanjaya was last, there is no way I would vote for him (bless his cute little soul) just because he was last. Anyone that is going to actually pick up the phone and cast a vote or multiple votes already has a vested interest in someone, no matter what spot they are in.

  • kmh303

“Blake picked another perfect song for him. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gonna rock. But why is he always in the beginning? …”

I’m gonna go ahead and assume that they put him in the beginning for my benefit, on account of the fact that I can’t concentrate until I’ve had my plaid for the evening, which renders the other performances pretty much useless until I’ve seen Blake.

Of course, I’m pretty distracted POST-Blake as well, so maybe it has nothing to do with me.

  • SODF

jokiebird, I hear what you are saying, but I still think there are some real advantages to the pimp spot, or a late appearance. One, it IS easier to remember a good performance that comes late in the show v. one that comes earlier. Especially at this point in the Season, when ten people are performing.

Two, the judges are conditioned to go overboard with praise later in the show. For example, Simon will trot out his “You’re in a different league; all the others sounded like amateurs” line only at the end of the show. In Top 12 Girls Week this season, if LaKisha had given the same performance early in the show, it would have been less highly praised simply because it was early.

Not everyone is going to capitalize on the advantage of going last, but it’s an opportunity that should be parcelled out as fairly as possible, IMO.

Melinda is great singer but, really, enough with the special treatment. Her song choice sucked last week and it sucks this week. Of course she will sing the song well. The judges keep throwing us à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“you really are a star Melindaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ at us every week. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not falling for her as the underdog, and I like to cheer on the underdog. Frankly, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m beyond bored with this story. Please AI, letà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s move on.

Here, Here! I think I’ll go fold some laundry when she takes the stage.
I’m only looking forward to what Blake, Chris R. and Jordin have in store for us tonight.
Chris S. never has and never will do a thing for me.
As for Sanjaya, well he’s good for giggle at least.

SODF….maybe. I’d be interested to figure out a way to chart position vs. performance since the beginning of AI.

I do agree with you that it should be parceled out fairly, at the very least for nothing but appearances sake.

I’ve never kept track but I’ve always thought that the worst spots were second and third. A great performance right out of the gate remains memorable.

Having said that, it’s only a 1 hr, 7 minute show tonight and so singing early isn’t as big a disadvantage as it would be during a 2-hour show.

Jan4, I also saw your note re: the 6 rejected idols that have a chance to join the tour. I’m going to remain very skeptical. I’m not an IDF historian, so who knows if this “IM” has some scoop or is some whacky 16 year old with too much time (okay, so maybe I do too! hmph!).

MJ, what do you make of this?

  • jnd1221

Ricky said the performance order is wrong. I’m glad, Blake should go near the end and Sligh and Melinda should be near the front, they were the last two last week right? Apparently Chris R, Haley, Phil, Blake, and Jordin’s songs are confirmed to be correct.

Idol Maniac has spoiled correctly in the past.

However, I don’t believe the “twist” story to be true. If Idol was doing a twist, the show would have been longer, and the “surprise” would have been teased ahead of time.

I’ll probably wind up editing some of the stuff I have posted already in a bit.

  • Giggy

Dang, I’ve been WAITING for BLAKE to sing Sunday Morning. :evil_wp:

I’m looking forward to Haley and Jordin, as usual.

    I’m curious about Chris S.

    The rest, eh.

  • jnd1221

Pretty sure Ricky said Sanjaya’s actually singing “Bathwater.”

  • jnd1221

    “Blake Lewis – “Love Song”
    Chris Richardson – “Don’t Speak”
Chris Sligh – “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”
    Gina Glocksen – Pretenders ballad
    Haley Scarnato – “True Colors”
    Jordin Sparks – “Hey Baby”
Lakisha Jones – Donna Summers song
Melinda Doolittle – Donna Summers song
Phil Stacey – “Every Breath You Take”
    Sanjaya Malakar – “Bathwater”

expect to see this type to be truth. Wardrobe is all wrong, order is wrong, gwen comments are wrong, his newer sanjaya/melinda/lakisha/gina song choices were wrong — revert back to the list above, the original. His twist was wrong. His first post of song spoilers though, was right.”

That’s Ricky’s latest post from IDF, MJ :)

Thanks MJ and jnd1221! Wish there weren’t so many No Doubt songs, but perhaps Gwen wants people to go back and buy some music of the boys she left behind.

She didn’t leave them behind. They are going to be doing another album when she’s done with this tour.

What oxymoron to the third power was Gwen Stefani as “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms” on last night, Fashion and Song trendsetting of her customary genre tonight, and her taste in music as reflected in Gwen’s favorites, that simply are unexplainable, even if you buy in to an individual’s diverse and broad musical favorites? Her advice was almost as ridiculous as the non-advice of the iconic Diana Ross, who is forgiven by me gratice based on her music industry legend status, so rightfully earned. Gwen has not even aproximated longevity legend rights. Gwen’s new label or album title should be “spoiler
