So an American Idol is easily found only in a very small group that captures these ideals. Let's say congratulations to short Melinda with a flavor of the old great Stephanie Mills, or the full figured ebony Lakisha with those soul-gospel powerhouse pipes, or bald, married, military Phil who the record companies can't market as an available hottie, but can sell records on tappable talent and remarkable potential, or finally Blake, the unique blend of some "Sting"-like Phil Collins quality notes and tones slammed in the middle of crazy beatbox hip hop R and B, all then tossed into one original American salad,as was with the birth of Jazz, in its origins, and the subsequent selling, listening, and crossover appeal to the young,old, and the popular market Talent should rule at and on this idol stage. I was way too hard on Sanjaya last night. I stated if I was his mother I would yank him off the stage. I don't take that back only why I would. I would not want my kid being made a damn fool. I think that is what got me last night. The mom in me took over. I would not want my child to be treated like that. Howard Stern, Vote for the worst are using that kid. The hair... even the make up people are making a ass out him. He seems like a very sweet young man, I just wish he would stop the goofy stuff and work on the singing. can some one give me the link to the two Rick/Rickeys. I can't find it. When I listen to it…..I fall in love with him all over again, his voice is amazing….I don’t think that’s a problem. Also, when you listen to it, you can see his only problem with timing was just a LITTLE off on the chorus, that’s it….otherwise, to me, a perfect performance.

Warning, unpopular opinions coming: - While it seems to be Melinda who gets all the love, I think Lakisha outsang her last night and out-performed her. It's a shame they're both on the same season, because one of them will have to be sacrificed. Outside of that - they really need to change it up a bit. They're both starting to bore me a little. - Chris S. does nothing for me. I've heard all of the excuses - he had to change his song, reverb/echo gate, blah blah blah. He plain and simple has tempo problems. He looks horribly uncomfortable on stage. His performance skills are not that great and he should never, ever pick up the mic stand. All of his "banter" seems scripted to me and well it's just not that funny. I just don't care whether he stays or goes. - I have been despising and hoping for the demise of Phil and Gina for weeks now. So, it pains me to say that Phil had the best male vocal of the night by a mile. And, Gina looked great in that dress. If she had removed that stupid tongue ring that ruins her enunciation - I would have been super impressed. Still, she was good and she picked a great song. - I'm happy to see that Sanjaya is taking his world wide mocking in stride. But, the faux-hawk was ridiculous and his Simon comeback was lame with a capital L. - Haley is just pointless to me, and I can see the former gymnast in her in every hand movement she makes. She's a pretty girl and that's about all I can say about her. - I admire Jordin for trying something different and fun. She's adorable and she is improving each week. It wasn't her best performance, but at least it didn't bore me to tears. - I love Blake. His hair looked great last night and I love the ease and confidence with which he performs. Maybe not the greatest singer in the Top 10, but still my favorite. - Chris R, hmm, he's interesting. I think he's cute as a button and there are almost moments when I think he can sing. But he just can't get past the nasal - so I do not predict great things for him. I also don't think he technically had the "pimp spot" last night. When a show runs 7 minutes over it's usual time and many people may move on to the shows they ordinarilly watch at 9:00 or onto the whatever else it is they do after AI - I just do not believe you've been pimped.
