The Voice – Xenia – Sing You Home – Music Video

Remember Xenia from The Voice? She was a finalist on Team Blake.  Only a teen, at times,  nerves got the best of her, but her when she was on, her ethereal voice was hard to forget.

Xenia’s music video, “Sing You Home” makes me sad that Voice graduates aren’t getting better promotion.  This song could do really well on  a triple a or hac radio format.  But alas, like her pals, Javier Colon and Dia Frampton, Xenia will probably sink out of sight soon.

Like Xenia alot.  Her voice is quirky, but soulful.  She’s young though, which might be a good thing as unlike Dia and Javier this is her first shot, probably not her last.  Song isn’t bad at all. Cute video.

Xenia’s voice is really unique and very pleasing to the ear.  I like this song and it is really sad that “The Voice” does not promote the real talent from this show.  What is the point of the show is they are not going to promote the artists?  It makes not sense and that is what separates AI from these other shows, IMO.

Nice video, obviously done on a small budget, but pretty good.  The song is pretty good too, and I think that Xenia has potential.  She may need another shot though.

I really love her voice, she reminds me of Nora Jones.  Since the Voice doesn’t seem to be doing much promo, hope Blake helps her out.

  • fuzzywuzzy

I agree.  Very reminiscent of Nora.

When I saw Xenia for the first time on the Voice, I realised two things:

    1) She was still very much an “unfinished product” – and
    2) I didn’t care at all because I just went gaga over her voice.

Her EP is really good and it’s such a shame, she and the other Voice contestants don’t get more promotion. :(

As for the video, I wish it had a bit less profile shots and more where she looks into the camera, she has very beautiful eyes, afterall.

I really love her voice.. That unique tone from her mouth is on the money. lol

Xenia was my favorite from the show, and it saddens me that there has been generally very little promotion for all of the contestants. She has such a unique voice, and the optimist in me hopes that this isn’t the last we see of her. I just hope that the music industry doesn’t mold her into something else since this EP didn’t do well.

I love her and her voice and this song. I downloaded it from itunes.  I think Schuyler from the savannah auditons of AI sounds a lot like xenia but not as good.

She was my favorite also very unique. Video is effective for the money they had to do it with.  She is young and I think right now is a better studio artist then live performer but hopefully she will get a chance to grow into that.

I love the unique tone of her voice. I like the video though it’s obviously made on a low budget-I’m glad she got a video at all. I wish she would get a real radio push, or some kind of promotion anyway.

I love her voice. Even tho she was young and very shy, she still had/has a mature, experienced quality to her singing. Bieber is more of an entertainer and performer, but there is something very amateurish about his singing, which is the opposite of Xenia.

Xenia has the potential to hit it big. I hope they handle her right.

  • Jenna

Her voice sounds soooooo great on record but I think her live vocal presence still needs more developing. She’s improved a lot since The Voice though. Blake has been really supportive of her though which is nice. He is the one who arranged for her gorgeous duet on Jon McLaughlin’s recent album (who was apparently her inspiration to start singing).

What is the song she dueted on?  I would love to hear it.

This production doesn’t do the song or her voice justice. Her tone is so unique and captivating – she was my favourite from the start and her EP is amazing. Xenia is such a unique talent – and so YOUNG – she could really use some mentoring and promotion to set her in the right direction. I too am disappointed at how quickly the Voice contestants have disappeared from the headlines. It would be such a shame to have her fall through the cracks because her mentors didn’t believe enough in her to put money where their mouth was. Granted, Blake does the most for his mentees, so of the woefully short straws she drew the longest …

Some more encouraging news – I remember reading a while ago that she is preparing to do some promotion/touring in 2012, so I am looking forward to that :)

    It’s called “Maybe It’s Over” =)

    Here it is on Youtube:

Really enjoy Xenia song and video!

  • Karen W.

They sound great together!  Thanks for posting!

Very nice.  Thanks for sharing.  Hopefully, The Voice will have her appear on a results show so that her talent can be showcased.

  • Raftrap

This proves me right, she should have won, I don’t care if she awkwardly points to the left and right and isn’t comfortable standing up, put her on a seat and make her sing, her voice is really beautiful. Good song.

Love Xenia. The texture and tone in her voice is so soothing and interesting to listen too. And I like that she has her own unique style, unlike most cookie cutter reality contestants.

This song and “Snapshot” could both be AAA/HAC hits, if the label actually gave them a push. But I doubt they will. Maybe Jon will release “Maybe It’s Over” to radio. It’s my favorite track on his album.

Xenia was my favorite on the Voice! Man, these poor kids got zero support from the show or their label!

Thanks for posting that song-it’s really beautiful. Blake has been such a supportive mentor for both Xenia and Dia Frampton-I’ll bet the first eight contestants all choose him this coming season of The Voice.

I was bored so decided to open this thread and listen to the song. I was never a big fan of hers from the Voice (the folk-sy voices don’t appeal to me) so I was astonished to find how much I liked it. Hey Mikey!

I also thought the song had nice opportunities to show every facet of her unique voice.

Freakin’ love her voice! Neat song, too. This is a good stepping stone.

She’s not quite done cooking yet. Her time will come when she’s ready, and I can’t wait.

  • Mase Wallace

i’d choose blake if i was a contestant, just because he seems to care

Out of all The Voice contestants, the ones I bought music from were Dia (The Broken Ones single) and Xenia (Sing You Home single) – wish they would do better commercially but it’s not going to happen.

  • sue

Lols my boyfriend is listening to this with me and he thought she was singing “seen you hurl” LMAO! :)

It’s actually a pretty good song and she has a great voice. Good job Xenia.

Xenia!!! I love her voice, she has Adele texture on her voice , but i little more clean ? , The song is pretty good and the video simple like her !! :)
She deserve more support from the show tbh. :|

  • Bazzle

i like this song more the more i listen to it. Its good radio material and it sounds dated. Such a shame i cant listen to this on the main radio stations instead of LMFAO… i’m getting tired of their shit.

A lighter Amy Winehouse feel – I like it.
