Watch Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green fight over a singer who puts a very unique twist on on Trey Songz’ “Say Aah”.

Who will she pick? We’ll have to tune into the new season of The Voice to find out.  The new season debuts on Sunday February 4, right after the Super Bowl on NBC.  The regular season begins the following night at 8 pm.

I like her a LOT! Gorgeous in every way. That just might get me to tune in. I think she should go with Christina.

If she has any brains at all, she’ll pick Blake.

Christina tries, but is useless. Cee Lo can’t even be bothered to try. He’s just there for the free snacks and exposure.

    Quick-Guide for Contestants:
Blake: Generally interested in helping contestants succeed in their chosen genre, hates melisma
Adam: Self-centered egomaniac who likes to win, so he’ll go to the mat for you. Has decent instincts
Christina: Will love you to bits and pieces, but her mentoring sense is mirrored by her fashion sense. have you seen how she dresses? She tries really hard, but completely misses the mark. Her advice will be terrible.
Cee Lo: Can’t be bothered to help one little bit. You might as well not have a mentor. Kind of creepy towards the ladies, but maybe he’ll let you sing one of his great songs.

Mark Burnett will have to edit these segments a lot. No doubt, Blake and Adam filled up their teams with their first choices, while they spent hours with contestants refusing to choose from either Cee Lo or Christina once Blake/Adam had filled up their teams.

Kirsten, I do appreciate your evaluation.  I am thinking she chose Christina, but I do feel Blake is the best coach.  Guess I’ll have to watch the show to find out.

This little clip has got me all excited for the show.  Since I watched last season I know the show is not as much fun once the auditions are done but I still am going watch.

Does this chick think she is Amy Winehouse or something? She has the same warbling quiver in her voice that a lot of singers feel the need to try and duplicate. She also reminds me of Lindsay Lohans ex GF lol. I’m actually looking forward to this season of The Voice!

  • koshka

She reminds me of Allison.. meaning I couldn’t understand much of what she sang.

Yeah, I was torn between Christina and Blake. I went Christina because she was first to commit and she said she wouldn’t try to change her. I’ll hold her to that if she gets picked.

Personally, I’d want Blake. I also got the feeling Blake was already filled. I couldn’t figure why he wasn’t turning.

    *SPOILER*

In the commercial for the new season, Christina is hugging her on stage, meaning she picked Christina.

    I love her style. <3

I remember Blake saying he does not like melisma, probably because country singers normally sing plain with no melisma or vibrato (like Scotty). But he did turn around for Javier, and he sings with lots of melisma. Done well, it makes a good singer better, like Javier.

    She’s kind of like Xenia.

I agree, if I was on this show I would pick Blake or Adam. If this show gets a third season, I hope they starting rotating the judges because they will get stale quick, especially considering how central they are to the show.

I too thought she sounded like Xenia when I first heard her.  Blake is the best coach because he sticks with them after the show is over.  Adam took Javier on some of his concerts as an opener, never heard Cee Lo did anything, even less re. Christina and her top girl.

the judges/mentors are a main part of the show.

I’m pretty sure Adam didn’t take Javier on tour. You may be thinking of Blake — who had Dia open for him at some of his shows.

  • Anonymous

I sorta liked that. I’m surprised Adam didn’t turn his chair around

There’s almost no point in watching if their winners can only sell 10K. The auditions are cool, but it gets a little boring after that.

  • sd34567

    *spoiler alert*

In the preview for the season, she’s hugging Christina.  So, it looks like she picked her.

Anyway.  I’m excited for The Voice.  I’m more excited for The Voice than I am for Idol.

  • itsalleternal

Maybe they will promote better next time, especially if ratings go up.

  • Leandro Cardim Da Silva

This show is totally “judge-centered”. Nothing about the contestants. That’s why they’ll never sell anything.

And it’ll get boring next season, cause no one will want to watch the same arguments they watched last two years. They have to constantly change the judges.

Lindsey should pick Blake – no other coach made the least effort to help their choices once the show was over except for him.  He may not be the best fit genre-wise, but it’s better than being discarded by judges that don’t want anyone getting in the way of their showboating.

  • Lovesyesha

Why is there no point in watching the show just because their winners don’t sell much. There have been several seasons of idol where I haven’t bought anything from the contestants afterwards, but enjoyed the season anyways. IMO, how much they sell after has no bearing on how entertaining the show is. I personally think it’s a lot of fun and it makes me smile, plus there is some great singing. That’s enough for me!

  • http://twitter.com/Trishdish2001 Trish Martin

I would pick Blake no matter what genre I sang.  He seems to care more about the contestants than any of the other judges.  I was fooled by Adam in the first season but I won’t be in the second.  Blake showed how true a gentleman he is and how much he cares about whom he chooses so I went from Team Adam to Team Blake!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/masewallace Mase Wallace

at first i thought if it was me i wouldn’t pick blake because, i’m not country, but seeing as how he supported his contestant after the show,he seems to generally care for them regardless, and tries to help, now with an more open mind,if i had the choice of picking blake over the others ,i’d think i would pick him

adam would be my second choice, because if likes you he’ll fight for you to be on his team, cause he wants to win

She’ll be sure to sell 10k Records and we’ll hear Scotty from Engineering yelling up to the Coaches “I’m givin her all she’s got, captain” Star Trek references are a given with The Voice.

  • rocklet1

telling myself.. I’ve heard that voice before.. she sounds like Lily Scott from season 9 of american idol.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AV5G6CWPSA2EANPDMJ7PWYU54Q Dave

I think people have to realize the stark contrast between American Idol and The Voice.

American Idol-Supported by a Record Label using Television to make money and find a artist (sure they care about ratings, but lets not forget the show was founded in part to find huge artists)

The Voice- Supported by Mark Burnett(reality tv king) who’s main goal is to find a successful television show to get higher ratings, NBC needs a ratings hit and couldn’t care less what the contestants do after the show. The point is to be entertained to watch the program.

This is why i like The Voice. You get the kind of singer that AI has no clue what to do with. (I love AI too, obv – it’s just nice that a show gives a completely different slate of singers and not just copycat AI.)

She’s a lot like Dia with a fully-formed artistic sensibility. But will she be a one-hit wonder, who’s only pony trick is this song?

I like Christina’s interest in her. I think she loved Beverly and respected her talent, but she seems genuinely excited about this girl in a modern, artistic way, like she thinks together they can experiment and create something new.  (But, who knows, I could be reading way too much into it.)

I think the same type of singer does well on both shows.  The people who put the focus more on their vocal delivery of a song, and who show some musicianship, are going to do better than those who are more about the production and stage show.  I think this show did a better job of highlighting that than AI has.

The problem is that these singers need time to develop after the show.  Whether they are from the Voice or AI, PDs aren’t too eager to play their music. and the people who listen to this type of music are going to be turned off because they are from a reality show.

I liked her originality and her voice even though her vocals weren’t perfect. Here’s another sneak peek audition. This guy, Jesse Campbell, is fantastic!
